Great video. I am get back into paddle kayak fishing and to see a down to earth video about the different options.
Thank you for watching
Man, you hit that right on the nose. Great content.
Appreciate the feedback!
Excellent breakdown!
Thank you Liz!
Since I've discovered your channel I've enjoyed your opinions and how you present information to make it easy to digest. Would love to see you do something on inflatable kayaks.

Good content, Thank you for the info. WELL done.
Thank you very much
Thank you Bearded paddler. Informative.
Anytime!
Thanks for watching
I can't lie i love my auto pilot but now with the e PdL on the market, it’s the best of both worlds.
EPDL is definitely more of a niche kayak. Hasn't done well in this area but that may change in the future. People here still enjoy the Autopilots
@@thebeardedpaddler I couldn't fathom spending that much. My AP was already pricey and I decided I'm not buying that epdl now 🤣😂
@@jamarcigar I would wait before buying the EPDL. I'm hoping they put the tech in the Sportsman series soon
@@thebeardedpaddler I would love for them to put it on the Sportsman line as well! That hull they're using now needs a massive update especially the tracks.
Thanks for very informative video I'm new to the channel
Welcome to the channel!

I have a ss107 bonafide was thinking of upgrading to the pwr 129 ? Would the pwr 129 be a better padding kayak then ss107 was thinking of adding trolling motor eventually haven't seen to many motorguide xi3 on ss107 any info would be greatly appreciated
Great video. I'm thinking of installing the Newport NK 300 on my Hobie PA 14. What mounting bracket would you recommend?
Oneobjective mount is what I would suggest
I'm wanting to power my rs117 with a trolling motor in the back, the motors have that bar that extends directly behind the seat, is there a practical setup for using that comfortably and not having your gear in the way?
It will be aftermarket and DIY mainly. The SS series were really setup for motorizing more than the RS. I've seen people do it though. The lighter the motor the better.
NuCanoe Unlimited. Can I make this pivot drive as a tandem? Not the unicorn question, for other conditions, could I convert back to single and add front trolling at a later date?
You can. They sell a tandem conversion kit for the Pivot drive
@@thebeardedpaddler Thank You. To confirm, if in the future I wanted to temporarily remove the pivot, I could add the trolling on the front?
Trying to avoid buying multiple kayaks. I know my wife would only go out with me.
@@ksmith114 yes. It's a quick disconnect
Good video as always. for myself its easy. I kayak ohio waterways, mostly for work, so I am in shallow water often dragging. this makes pedal/power setups worthless most of the time.
Understandable. Thanks for watching as always!
Andy your content is just amazing. I want to talk with you.
Thanks
Great video! I enjoy paddling, but the wind where I live can make trying to both fish and paddle miserable. I spend more time positioning the boat than actually fish. Even for just paddling having a rudder with foot controlled steering helps immensely; keeps the boat from spinning as much and allows for some hands-free drifting.
Very good points. It's what got me into motorizing honestly. Still value in pedal drives, but the motor Is way more efficient
@@thebeardedpaddler same! I went the basic trolling motor + AutoBoat GPS system route.
Peddles are awesome but aren't durable which is my priority. Power is not allowed in many places I paddle.
Depends on the pedals.
Also with a motorized kayak you may have to pay taxes on the price of it to get it tagged.
Most states won't have taxes unless the kayak value is over a certain amount. It will assess as a $0
spend the extra for powered you will thank me later.
I'm already there lol
Technically Power, Pedal and Paddle for me. I mainly use power, when/if it fails i have my pedal drive onboard (its happened) and if that fails my pedals have a spot on the kayak thats out of the way. Beyond that, means my kayak is at the bottom of the lake and im swimming.
Lol
I use all 3 as well. It's been dry here so the rivers have been low. That's what I love doing the most
