Imo he's was the greatest a cut above Maradona and Pele because he could do everything and play anywhere holding midfielder, play maker, centre forward.his club record speaks for itself.
The problem is, nobody knows how he scored so many goals. Its a fact that he scored over 1800 goals in under 1000 games and 946 official goals in ~450 games. People would put it down to a weak league or era but the fact is, thats definitely not the case. The Czechoslovakian national team were world cup finalists during that period and Slavia werent even the best team in the Czech league at the time. In addition to that, during the 30s and 40s the least goals were averaged per game out of any era in football history, and only one other player during his time scored over 500 goals. In an era featuring Giuseppe Meazza, J.M Moreno, Matthias Sindelar etc, nobody finished their career with a goal to game ratio of above 1.00, Bican finished his career with above 2.00. He played in the toughest era to score in and hes the all time top scorer by far. Bican is the biggest mystery in the history of the game.
@@WolfIsco Reading about the chronicles of football is one of my biggest passions and Bicans name seems to pop up alot when talking to intellectuals about the GOAT debate no matter where or what team they support. The mainstream audience of football may not know or appreciate him, but the people who study the history of football certainly are aware of his presence and im glad the Czech fans know their own history too. He IS the most prolific goalscorer of all time and it cannot be ignored.
@@moviemaniayt1 Peyroteo's goal ratio was, according to the majority of sources, somewhere between 1.6 - 1.7 goals per game. Bican averaged just under 1.8 goals per game, so his is slightly higher. Another significant point to make is that Peyroteos career only spanned about 12 years, whereas Bican maintained his ratio throughout a 27 year long career. You could make a case for Mario De Castro, but his career was extremely short, only playing 100 games at club level, and you also have to take into account that the Brazilian league at that point in history was still amateur, and only went professional in 1933.

Real Madrid's glory days began in 1956. Alfredo di Stefano was 30 years old that year. Most of his success at Madrid (and most of the video footage we have) was as a man in his 30's. That is astounding! He was known as The Blonde Arrow in his youth, and must have been quite a terror to play against. A great player.
For me: 1. Messi 2. Pele 3. Maradona 4. CR7 5. Cruyff / Di Stefano 6. Cruyff/Di Stefano I think the top 6 is almost not debateable (only the order is, but not the players). These 6 players are the ones that have changed football. @@lamp6121

Yes in 1958 he played for Man U. Madrid gave this player to Man U as one part of condolences after the death of all first team of Man U on plane crush.
These days people seem to talk only about Cristiano and Messi being above or under Maradona and Pelé, but it has to be said too that Di Stefano is likely top5 player ever, and Puskas could easily be top10 (in the conversation amongst Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Ronaldo, Best, maybe Van Basten or Ronaldinho...). But there is a couple of things to mention here: 1. The original European Cup wasn't the same kind of tournament as the Champions League is, and the Zidane's Real Madrid of 2016-2018 threepeat span had tougher rivals and could have been as good as this Real Madrid. 2. In this Real Madrid there was Di Stefano and Puskas, and there was Rial, and Kopa (also Ballon d'Or winner), and Amancio, and Pirri, and above all there was also Gento, who was next to Di Stefano and Puskas like Garrincha next to Pele, a top50 player ever. Gento remains as the only man to win 6 European Cup titles (one more than Di Stefano and Cristiano Ronaldo) and could be considered as the second greatest and most important madridista right after Di Stefano, even ahead of Casillas, Raúl, Ramos or Hierro.
Talk about polar opposite kinda player...If Di Stefano was the best total-footballer who could be found in every position, Muller was the best 1-position player of all time. And that 1 position was always the right one at the right time lol. They say that in the beginning of our Universe, the Big Bang happened...and Muller was already there waiting.
The Kings of each country: Argentina 🇦🇷 Maradona, Messi Brazil 🇧🇷 Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho Germany 🇩🇪 Benkenbauer Holland 🇳🇱 Cruyff France 🇫🇷 Platini, Zidane Spain 🇪🇸 Di Stefano
The club for which he played in Colombia was created in honour of River, hence his name is Millonarios, the same happens with other South American and European clubs like Rayo Vallecano. PD: From the best football club in America to the best in Europe...thank you River Plate .
I really love all of your videos but some time ago you started having hiccups like on the transition from 6:22 to 6:23 it jumps mid sentence to a completely different sentence. The same goes for 11:24 to 11:26.
Just a point of historical fact to the commentator: in 1956 and 1957 there was no "Champions League". There was a European Cup and that lasted for the next few decades. Real Madrid, with Alfredo di Stéfano, won the first five European Cups. Research always helps.
@@McFlashh I've been aware of that fact ever since it changed its name. My point was simply about informing the compiler of this video who isn't, apparently, aware of that fact. If he had undertaken better research before posting the video then errors and ambiguities would have been avoided.
DiStefano was the Prototype Model for Messi. While the finished Product is one of the best, the Prototype Model had a lot of features we don't see anymore
Not really, his playstyle has nothing to do with Messi, and I don't think that Messi was influeced at all by him (Messi had Aimar as his idol growing up, and you kinda see it in the playstyle, although Messi is a pure "rosarino" player). Di Stéfano was more of a total footballer, and played more in the center of the field, not so much in the wing (as Messi does). Di Stéfano wasn't really a dribbler (although of course he was good at it), but more of a passer. The players that are closer to his playstyle could be Cruyff and Zidane, but Di Stéfano had way more defensive presence. But when scoring, he was pretty much a finisher, sort of like Gerd Müller, Raúl or Inzaghi. In essence, Di Stéfano was like Makélélé while defending, Zidane while building up the play, and G. Müller while finishing.
Not even a mention of Raymond Kopa, which is the only other player of Real Madrid during this period that won the Ballon d'Or (1958) ? I know he didn't play a lot of seasons for Real but he still had a major impact and created a powerful and iconic trio with Puskas and Di Stefano ! People usually forget him even though he was the best player of the 1958 World Cup ahead of teammate Just Fontaine (13 goals in this World Cup, most ever) and Pelé (won the World Cup at 17 with 8 goals scored), just shows how much of an underrated legend he is ! Maybe one of the best midfielders ever, but never in the conversation.
I had to pause the video to comment this: Is not that Real Madrid before Di Stéfano didn't qualify consistently to the "Champions League". It's that this competition didn't even exist. It was founded around the time Di Stéfano came along. In fact, the first 5 editions of the tournament were won by Di Stéfano's Real Madrid, and it was called European Cup (till 1993, if I'm not mistaken). But yeah, it's true that Real Madrid was kind of a shitty team before Di Stéfano's arrival. Back then Athletic Club de Bilbao, Atlético Aviación (old name for Atlético de Madrid) and FC Barcelona were vastly superior teams.
Whether he's the best of all time or not is subjective, but all I know is that as an Argentine, I'm proud that we have Di Stefano, as well as Maradona and Messi. Three of the best to ever do it.

You forgot to mention that Di Stefano is also the only player to have ever won the Super Ballon d'Or.

Imo he's was the greatest a cut above Maradona and Pele because he could do everything and play anywhere holding midfielder, play maker, centre forward.his club record speaks for itself.
Jude Bellingham reminds me a lot of him I've heard the comparisons between them and I see it
I hope you will someday make video on Czechoslovakian legend of Slavia Prague, Pepi Bican, who scored aroung 800 goals.
@@edudinhocorinthians6459 I am happy, that someone knows so much about him, who is not Slavia Prague fan or Czech.
@@edudinhocorinthians6459 what about peyroteu? The forgot Portuguese legend
Man was so good he played for three different national teams 😳
Look at that amazing defence in the first clip🥶🥶🔥🔥 those farmers couldn’t handle the goat stefano 🐐

Noticed the thumbnail change Raymar 👍. I think it was a great move! This is kinda embarrassing because I've been subbed for a while now and I don't know why I didn't jump to watching this video when I had the chance when normally I do. Adding Real Madrid to the title was good to!
Hopefully this feedback info helps! 😁👍
appreciate it bro 🙏
Great video, deffo a Real Madrid great. With a comprehensive list of accolades. 🐐
Di stefano is the GOAT the world forgot about
Wow❤️ so underrated. Love this video
Legends remember the first upload
Yeah.
Why is it reuploaded?
De Stefano - most important real madrid player ever
C.Ronaldo- Best real madrid player ever
Hey man! This video was great. However I feel we are missing some sections of the video during editing mishaps.
Alfredo Di Stéfano is the original Galáctico.
In all honesty this guy is one of the most underrated goats he should be right up there with pele.
Maybe 5th or 6th with messi on 1 cr7 in 2 and pele on 3
@@Bsmv712 cr7... all he can do better is to score goals which di stefano wasn't bad in either
@@Bsmv712 Sorry but CR7 isn't up there, he's top ten for sure, but top 3 are Messi, Pelé and Maradona, Di Stefano might be 4th or 5th
For me:
1. Messi
2. Pele
3. Maradona
4. CR7
5. Cruyff / Di Stefano
6. Cruyff/Di Stefano
I think the top 6 is almost not debateable (only the order is, but not the players). These 6 players are the ones that have changed football.

Fun Fact:Cruyff's idol was Di Stefano
Cruff once said his favorite player is Di stefano; not his idol
@@snowbird8066 cryiff modelled total football after stefanos playing style
they were both complete footballers who could define a weak team, i can see why Cruyff liked ADS
But there is a couple of things to mention here:
Puskas is the best
And Cristiano being the goat of Madrid
Best real Madrid player ever and top 5 of all time
Naah
💯👏
Facts. I would even say he's top 3 of all time.
Cristiano played for Barca
Definetly!
Plzz make a vdo on Gerd muller . The greatest German to ever play the game
🤔
Talk about polar opposite kinda player...If Di Stefano was the best total-footballer who could be found in every position, Muller was the best 1-position player of all time. And that 1 position was always the right one at the right time lol. They say that in the beginning of our Universe, the Big Bang happened...and Muller was already there waiting.
Great work 🙌🏼
The Kings of each country:
Argentina 🇦🇷 Maradona, Messi
Brazil 🇧🇷 Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho
Germany 🇩🇪 Benkenbauer
Holland 🇳🇱 Cruyff
France 🇫🇷 Platini, Zidane
Spain 🇪🇸 Di Stefano
The club for which he played in Colombia was created in honour of River, hence his name is Millonarios, the same happens with other South American and European clubs like Rayo Vallecano.

Just a point of historical fact to the commentator: in 1956 and 1957 there was no "Champions League". There was a European Cup and that lasted for the next few decades. Real Madrid, with Alfredo di Stéfano, won the first five European Cups. Research always helps.
The Champions League is just a different way of saying the European cup
@@McFlashh I've been aware of that fact ever since it changed its name. My point was simply about informing the compiler of this video who isn't, apparently, aware of that fact. If he had undertaken better research before posting the video then errors and ambiguities would have been avoided.
0:52 Di Stefano accidentally invents the Cruyff Turn. 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
The game has evolved and so are the players
The best club in the world Real Madrid! ⚪️🔵
Makes me proud to be Argentinean!
So did the 2022 world cup!
Maybe one of the best midfielders ever, but never in the conversation.
yeah
you can barely search about kopa in mainstream content
but still I prefer di stefano more ... people literally treat him below cruyff like wtf
@@716_ハディくん because Cruyff is better...

Champions League was created from 1955/1956 season as a European Cups, Real Madrid was invited as a primera division champion.

Love the content, I watch your videos while playing fifa a lot lol, I have a recommendation for a future video, Tim Howard, a USA and Everton Legend
Nacho also won 5 UCLs with Real Madrid and he is named after food.
Alfredo was the "Di" man to do great "Stef" for Real Madrid
9:07 The Champions league started in 1955, he said Madrid never qualified before but the copetition didn't even existed yet
Whether he's the best of all time or not is subjective, but all I know is that as an Argentine, I'm proud that we have Di Stefano, as well as Maradona and Messi. Three of the best to ever do it.
Glad as a Madrid fan, we're blessed with the best Argentinian players cross the decades with significant impact like Di Stefano, Redondo and Jorge Valdano. Phenomenal!
You forgot to mention "El matador" Mario Kempes.
2:47 The man went on full celebration for about 3..2..1..
And he has to be Argentinian, land of geniuses
Ben Barek , Di Stefano , Garrincha ,Pelé, Cruyff and Maradona are the true legends of football.
