Thank God. Whole sentences, nouns, adjectives, clear words, no mumble, lying about guns and how much dope ( they think they sold). or harmonies with stupid aSs sound effects. BARS!!!!. They saved hiphop. Breathe of fresh thought..
I just clicked on this video to respond to that dumb ass comment about this possibly being one of the greatest verzuz and that’s wrong cause Gucci vs jeezy and Lox vs dipset was waaaaayyyyy better so stop wyd 🛑

@@honorableatalltimes3579 the greatest versus battles will never happen. Jay-Z versus Notorious BIG, R. Kelly vs Usher, Tupac vs. DMX, Michael Jackson versus Prince, Aaliyah vs Beyonce. Also, I think the Lox vs. G-Unit would have been far better than the Lox vs. Dipset. Just imagine Jadakiss and Lloyd Banks going at it.
That wasn't a verzuz, it was a concert, history lesson, class on rap history, and a win for everybody that watched it. Two legends, respecting each other, showing their skills, bringing out other legends, truly great show.

Two living legends from the Golden Age of Hip Hop - late 80s/90s.
Early 80s for me. I remember when Kris wasn't even signed
Two of the GOATS!!! This was a masterclass in EMCEEING. This was NOT a battle - this was a shot of inspiration that the game desperately needs right now and it's no surprise that lyricism is slowly making a comeback like I knew it would. I knew it would take years for the pendulum to swing back the other way but it's beginning to happen. THANK YOU Big Daddy and KRS for allowing us to witness this piece of hip hop history.
No vocal backing tracks or Autotune. Only pure talent and skillz. What a breath of fresh air to experience this again.

I remember meeting the Teacher a few years ago when he was performing a show at the Abby in Orlando Florida. Before the show KRS and his entire crew came in to dine at my family's Thai restaurant. It was like a party of 15. His wife was also there. I went over and thanked him for all his contributions to hip hop. He was grateful and appreciated all the love and respect the entire restaurant was showing him. He ask who cooked his meal which was Salmon and stirfry vegetables. I told him it was my mother and that made him appreciated it even more. I told him my mother is 75 yrs old and she still wants to work everyday. He ask to meet her, she agreed to come out and meet him. They kick it off right at the first moment she came out. He ask about our culture and told her how much he respected our tradition. He told her that he was honored that she actually cooked his meal for him. My mother was so grateful that she even gave him a small Buddhist charm for good luck. In return he also gave her a African good luck beaded necklace. He even gave my 2 nephews necklaces as well. We took pictures and I even did shots of Sake with them. He also invited me and the whole staff to go backstage and watch him perform. That was a really cool experience. I'll never forget that day. Thank You Teacher aka KRS One.. If you're ever back in Orlando to perform or just visiting it would be our honor to serve you and your family again. This time we'll drink more Sake to help you loosen up 😆.
Beautiful, Beautiful Posting!
I'm THRILLED you got to meet and bond with him.. and Big Ups to your mom!
Excellent story. KRS One is still looking to learn other cultures.

I wanted Busta Rymes vs KRS1. And BDK vs Rakim. But this is definitely nothing to complain about.
Kane smashed! 🔥🎤🔥
Lol. Krs1 was better off lip synching. The audience said more of his lyrics than he did.
KRS is so lyrical: he is a dope story teller, he can battle rap, he can make street anthems, he can rap about current affairs, he is one of the greatest to ever rap. My Philosophy blew my mind when I was a young kid.
Same hear That last song he did with slick Rick I don’t even know what to say amazing I’m trying to find it now I need to hear the rest of it and how he ended the show incredible how he was directing kick capri amazing
My philosophy still blows my mind..it's like the essence of hip hop
Yes I agree, he is definitely the teacher...edutainment all the way... he taught me the key points of religion, with "YOU MUST LEARN", wish he performed this along with "WHY IS THAT"...
the ESSENCE of hip hop is the battle. Mc Shan blew my mind when he and Marley Marl came out with THE BRIDGE giving props to Queens. KRS one answered with THE BRIDGE IS OVER and DESTROYED boom boxes everywhere in the late 80's. Listen to Criminal Minded, a 5 mic all-time classic. KRS is a master class MC
DONT FORGET GOSPEL...SHIT I GOT HIS SPIRTUAL MINDED ALBUM

FACTS. ..
Rakim vs bdk
When "Aint no half Steppin" came out summer 88' ... THE RAP GAME WAS CHANGED FOREVER. This set the tone for the entire golden age to come. The ominous yet playfull beat was so HARD and the lyrics had more rhyme scheme and wordplay than just about anything human ears had heard before. THIS IS WHY IMO KANE IS THE GOAT OF HIP-HOP. He was a battle MC than even had Rakim ducking him bc he knew Kane would tear him apart in a battle. KANE, RAKIM, KRS-ONE... Thats my 3 greatest rappers/MC's of all-time. Then you can throw in guys like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Eminem, Tupac, Biggie, Kool G-Rap, Ol Dirty Bastard, Nas, Del The Funkee Homosapien, etc...KANE, RAKIM, KRS-ONE WERE NOT EXACTLY THE FIRST TO DO IT... BUT THE FiRST TO SET THE BAR WHICH IS STILL THE STANDARD OF FLOW.
Rakim never ducked Kane that Rapmania deal could've spilled over into the street's of Brooklyn which Kane is from but Rakim Goon's ran Brooklyn. so Ra camp was more like if we go at it we go at it for real no cap.

That ending was epic, krs murdered that outro!
god man this is what we all wish for, no lip syncing or the rapper singing along to the song in the background. Just the artist, the instrumental, his rythmes and memory. even a little improvised rythmes on the spot cause he feeling the flow to make it special for the show

While this is dope, looking at the comments most people seemed to miss the significance of this. Back in the '80s, BDP was beefing on wax with Marley Marl's Juice Crew. Hence, BDP's " The Bridge Is Over" which dissed Marley Marl, Queensbridge and the Juice Crew. Big Daddy Kane was under Marley Marl and the Juice Crew (along with Biz Markie, MC Shan, Craig G, Kool G Rap, Roxanne Shante, etc) They deaded it years ago but there is a story behind picking these 2 and it's not just because both are rap legends (which they are)
