Watch Chris Stapleton with JT at the CMA awards. And he wrote 80% of all country music you currently.
He is the male Adele!

Yes he's awesome! Thanks for the video.
You don’t listen to Chris Stapleton, you FEEL Chris Stapleton.
Amen brother
YESSSSSS!!!!
😎 awesome
Bigggg FACTSSS IN YA SOUL WITH THIS ONEEEE
Absolutely ❤
Chris Stapleton can sing the “ingredients on a cereal box” and it will STILL be a #1 hit! 👏👏🙌🙌
Absolutely
Indeed..!
Facts👍🏼
Hilarious
Agreed
people often mistake Chris for being a country singer. He is 110% music, he is soul, jazz, blues, country all together.
💯
I agree
I agree my white soul brother. Sing Chris - Great band too
Amen to that
Agreed. He defies all the genres.
Chris Stapleton is old soulful country. He's why I love country. He can actually sing. No auto tune needed.
People say that is country.. BUT THAT IS SOUL!!!!!!!
Amen
It is SOUL & Blues!!! They say Country but .....
More a blues country than soul
It's a remake of an old Gorge Jones and David Allen Coe.
Can it be both?♥️
Gotta love a singer who gives credit and spotlight to his band before the show even starts. Mad respect
SADE have done that with her band members
He always sings this song last at his concerts.
It reminds me of Tank and the Bangas on the Tiny Desk Concert, how they sing the names. I love it 😊
Chris Stapleton OWNED The National Anthem at the Super Bowl 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ain't nobody like Chris Stapleton! The man is pure soul!
Lemme tell you something...as a black man who grew up on Jazz, RnB, Blues and Hip Hop...I discovered Chris Stapleton about 30 days ago and the Soul on his voice hit me like a Hammer. Fell in love with his talents immediately.
I also love Southern Rock, like the Allman Brothers for this very reason, such soulful voices, you can hear the Blues influence. Love it.
Chris is VERY Bluesy. I love all of his music. A couple of his songs are a lot more blues inspired.
I am not a fan of country music. This song does not exactly sound like country to me. It sounds very soothing, and bluesy and the first time I heard it, I loved it and still do
He ripped off Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind", 😂
Check out when he was in the band Steeldrivers.
I am Puerto Rican & I feel the same :) 🫢
Chris Stapleton is not just Country, he's blues, soul, rock n' roll all rolled into one.
He's a 🇺🇲
....and too cool to describe!
His voice gives me chills. You can feel him inside your soul
Amen to that. You feel every word..love him
Facts!!!
If you like that…you will like every.single. Chris Stapleton song ever recorded ❤❤❤🎉
Once you hear Chris your hooked. he man is already a legend.
There is a line between rock and country, and it's called the blues. This hits all those notes
This is straight up blues. Not country. Not rock. And great!
Wrong country was originally Country Rythm And Blues.
You may be use to pop Nashville country though.
@@mikerodik7208 First came southern gospel and blue then country. There was country western. That my friend is a blues song with some country in. R and B was what was use differentiate black and white music in general. The what station to put the music on. Thats why rap/r&b or lump together.
@@mikerodik7208 All present day music was birthed from Blues. Jazz, Rock, Country, Hip Hop. You name it. This man really embodies those bluesy southern roots. Love it.
Chris did an amazing rendition of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
Inmo one of the best ever
The best I have ever heard
Next reaction video perhaps?
I got chills hearing him sing the Anthem
Best ever.
You have got to see Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake LIVE at the Country Music Awards! SHOW STOPPING!
I love what Chris has done for modern country. He injected life back into a genre that needed it bad. Country as a whole was losing its soul and Chris got it back on the tracks. Now we’re seeing more and more artists breaking through with soul influences into country.
Yes! There is a whole movement of young artists who call themselves “country revivalists.” It’s their mission to bring back the soulful storytelling and southern rock with jazz influence that makes country amazing.
@@pinkLeopard580 Do you have any artist recommendations that would fall into that category of "country revivalists?" I grew up listening to country music but haven't listened in years
@@kenzie1256 yes! Tons! Randall King if you’re into Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, etc. The Red Clay Strays if you’re into Johnny Cash mixed with Elvis. Southall (formerly known as The Read Southall Band) if you’re into Credence Clearwater and a more southern rock style of country.
@@kenzie1256Tyler Childers is part of that. He’s a master lyricist and has a gorgeous voice and his backing band is incredible
I would love for you to listen to Jelly Roll's "Need a Favor" it's 🔥🔥❤❤
Chris Stapleton's artistry transcends all of the artifical barriers that we've built between ourselves. I am thankful to be alive to witness his talent.
Your comment is wayyyy underrated...
Really well stated💪🙌❤️
I read your comment. And had to log in just to give you a like. Very underated comment indeed
beautifully said, Ryan! 🙌🏼💯
Yes! you said it perfectly! 🤗❤
Chris Stapleton has a lot of soul. His music is loved by everyone of all races. I have never heard a bad song from him. He has a voice that you will remember forever.
I will always remember him as a man who butchered a classic country song. Original is sang by David Allen Coe, and If I remember right Witten by Kris Kristofferson
@@sodiersofmetal Stapleton is the goat! FOH!
@@sodiersofmetal Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove wrote it. David Allen Coe recorded it first. Chris Stapleton just took the music from Etta James' - I Would Rather Go Blind and put Tennessee Whiskey lyrics over it.
@@sodiersofmetal I love DAC, but he can't come close vocally to Chris. And Kris did not write this song.
The original version sung by David Allen Coe only peaked at #77 on the Billboard Country Music Charts. Chris Stapleton's version hit#1 on the Billboard music charts. The people have spoken.
This Is Real Singing, Real Music. And Majority Of Young Don't Know Real Music Is. No Matter What Type Of Music It Is.❤
I love hearing him singing this song with his wife. They harmonize beautifully.
Thank you for the constant love and support you have been showing me and my music….I really appreciate you. Your support and love keeps me going. Keep being a lovely fan. Where are you watching from?❤️😊😊……
And when they did Amanda by Waylon Jennings live.... GOOD GRIEF... chills every time
I drive a school bus, and when this song came on the whole bus started singing. I looked up and said what do you all know about Chris Stapleton? They were like turn it up, turn it up, & I did. That was a bus load of 60+ kids. They sure were happy. LMBO😂💖
Chris Stapleton, has a very awesome voice, & his amazing band compliments his every note. I Love his voice, & music. It was a joy to watch your review. God Bless💖👼🙏
Blessings ❤
Chris Stapleton is a million bags of chips. Country/Soul and everything in between. Tunes... That man is a freaking ICON. He's FABULOUS.
Also blues.
Dang. I wanna check him out just because of this comment!!
@BELIEVE in JESUS reported. Stop harassing comment sections. It’s obnoxious.
@@MegsFK not harassment dear. Just doing his part...showin the purest kind of love.
Watch him sing this Justin Timberlake, it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. It’s from the CMA awards a few years back.
Chris is a Blues singer that is picked up by Country Charts ❤
Thank you this is definitely blues vibes to me.
Exactly
I was giggling at “he’s got soul” This man uses all the spices - not just salt n pepper! I love Chris and he has an amazing voice
I love your comment..."He uses ALL the SPICES!"

Came here to say this too!
SSAAAAMMMMEEEE
Agree!
Agree
He was a song writer by trade and wrote songs for a lot of the great talents out there until his wife convinced him that he should sing his own music. She performs with him a lot and also has a beautiful voice.
You do know he did not write this though, right? Tennessee Whiskey is a very old song!
Wrote songs for Strait! He’s now humbly opening for Strait on a short tour going on right now.
Correct! Dean Dillon wrote TW

He is one of the most talented musicians on the planet… and he’s humble and laid back to boot. If you watch him in any of his interviews, his sincerity and character just shines right through. A beautiful human being with a set of pipes that never fails to leave a new fan in awe 😜
The first time i played Chris Stapleton for my amazing southern grandma, she said he sounded like Aretha Franklin & Willie Nelson had a baby! Lol… I’ve never seen this video, I loved it and your reaction was on it! New sub, I’ve watched a few of your reactions and about to go binge watch more!!
Aretha Franklin and Willie Nelson had a baby! 🤣 YES, I love it!! Haha. Your grandma hit the nail right on the head. Love Chris Stapleton. He's one of the few artists I could go see over and over and over and over again.
OOOMMMGGG! Grandma is on point all day long!!! I absolutely agree with her!
And the baby was Etta James. Lol
Wow that damn accurate!
@@katvillagonza2575 I just found out that the riff from this song is from an Etta James song!!
This man made me fall in love with country blues and broaden my taste to more country music. I was jamming to him in my car and a homeless man was jamming, so I parked the car, rolled my windows down, raised the volume and jammed with the man, gave him money for lunch and went on my merry way.
Wonderfull...😇
God bless you for taking care of the less fortunate!
God will bless you 10 fold
If you like him, I urge you to check out The Read Southall Band and The Red Clay Strays.

Chris Stapleton is the type of performer that transcends genre. He may have a country persona, but he is pure musician who utilizes every aspect of voice and instrumentation to take you along on a journey that they love. Good for you being willing to explore and escape the box that we build that confines us in our musical prisons.
I’m not a big country music fan but my goodness! Chris Stapleton has brought it and delivered it !! Fuego 🔥!
Chris Stapleton is in a class of his own. I wouldn’t exactly call it country. It’s so soulful!
Go listen to him singing the national Anthem ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes!
He was outstanding!
Im from Europe. Germany and heard this guy voice today on the Grammys show for the first time😮 lovin it.
No other races and cultures other then black and whites are forever linked together when hearing southern accent music.we both light up
Chris is an amazing performer. We saw him concert in 2018 and I was blown away and my husband was a huge fan and a year later he passed away and the first time I heard Millionaire after his death, I had to pull over and collect myself because I knew at the moment he wanted me to hear it. Broken Halo was played at his Celebration of Life and I will forever have an angel watching over me.
Sorry for your loss! I'm sure he is still listening to Chris in heaven!! God bless
Oh my goodness; I’m so sorry about your husband 🙏🏻🙏🏻
He is with you ❤ Hugs
I'm sorry for your husband's absence in your life and happy you know he's with you still.
I'm definitely going to seek out more music by CS. This is the first song I've heard from him and this most excellent band.
My reactions to Broken Halos and millionaire stem from same source as yours, loss of my wife and Soul mate aft r 45byears of marriage.
The song millionaire reminds me of early years of her and I struggling through hard times.
No matter our financial condition, and they were rough, shealways made me feel as if richest man on earth and damn grateful our Creator decided we belonged together.
Stapleton puts feelings in his music, a very rare gift today.
Chris Stapleton is the Bomb! I really like Polo's comments. He is incredible 🤩
He's a great song writer too! Him and Rodney Crowl wrote a beautiful song for Willie Nelson, I'll love you til I die!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He is insane live! One of those voices that you feel in your soul. He also introduces his band with that improv singing at every concert!
@Crystal where did you see him if you don't mind me askin? I just moved to Kentucky and found out that's where he is from! He has an All Time voice and I gotta see this live!
He's amazing ❤
indeed. well said
I saw him live about 2 years ago, and got to sit in the pit, and we also got to see his wife perform with him too!!
Chris Stapleton will make you cry. He is deep.
You've just heard the most soulful country singer ever. You won't find many other country singers like him. He's AMAZING!
I love Chris stapleton. He is so soulful
Chills! Right?!! So raw and raspy.
I enjoy that Chris took an older country song and instead of actually making it “modern” he kept the class but made it bluesy! 🙌🏽
I don't know what older country song this is, but the melody came from "I'd Rather Go Blind" an R&B song from the '60's.
Love love, Dr. John and Etta James singing that song together
He ruined it. Chris’ version is pure bull💩.
He definitely has soul, I just can't stop hearing Etta James singing Rather Go Blind every time I hear Tennessee Whiskey. Love both artists and both songs either way.
Have you seen the mash-up of Chris Stapleton and Angelina Jordan singing this song & Etta James's Rather Go Blind. You're right, the two songs go together.
100%. Same beat. Same melody. Same soul and hurt. Different lyrics is all.
I don’t really consider him “country” as much as blues/soul/country rock. At any rate, I love everything he puts out.
Yeah. Agree.
He can do any genre but his roots are actually Bluegrass...Do some youtube surfing on his earlier music....he is mos def country.... :)
Agreed, not so country as more blues with a touch of rock and country references. Sounds good!
If I close my eyes and let the music consume me, I hear nothing but Blues. Great song.
"country" encompasses all those things "blues/soul/country rock" country is many things
Chris Stapleton at the CMA Awards Show “COLD”!! Awesomeness!!
I could listen to Chris Stapleton everyday for the rest of my life. Most especially Tennessee Whiskey.
Chris has perhaps one of the most authentic soulful sound on the Planet these days. Old school mixed with modern... He is truly in a league of his own...
LuvNit.😊🤩
I said exactly what you did about Chris A few days ago
When he sings I feel his music in my bones, my soul and my heart. Everything he sings is over the top❣️
"Tennessee Whiskey" is a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It was originally recorded by American country music artist David Allan Coe for his album of the same name Tennessee Whiskey, whose version peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981.[1] George Jones' 1983 version of the song was included on his album Shine On, and reached number 2 on the Hot Country Singles chart. - Wikipedia
Was actually pitched to George Strait and he turned it down
The song is literally ripped from “I’d Rather Go Blind.”-Etta James.
@@StouttFitness He took the music of Etta James and mixed it with the lyrics of Tennessee whiskey and made an angelic masterpiece. And without the lyrics or the music of Etta we'd never have been blessed with this perfection
@@allenwilson9656 if that's true that's why I always say everything happens for a reason bc he this song went to the right man & made it something everyone loves he sings with his soul & heart that's how everyone should sing it would make music that much better!
George Jones made it bigger than David Allen Coe. Stapleton took it to the next level. Made it a hit
The chances that someone with this imcredible voice learns music, finds his style, and blesses us with his voice are so miniscule. Chris Stapleton is a national treasure.
I’m not a country fan at all but I will listen to Chris because of the soul in his voice. I’m so glad you found him!
This is good soul & blues country ! This group band is a big hit !
He sings “you should probably leave” with his wife Morgane Stapleton live at I think the Grammys a couple years ago. It’s one of the most soulful things I’ve ever heard. Like there’s no way they didn’t make a baby immediately afterwards. It’s a must listen!
He sings a lot of his songs with his wife and really it just makes him all the more amazing!
A lot of people don't realize how great of a singer Morgaine is.
THAT’S ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHRIS SONGS.
You should probably leave 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
I had the exact same reaction the 1st time I saw him perform, which was with Justin Timberlake for the CMA Awards. If you haven’t seen it, you should. Anyway - YES! This man has got soul! His voice is mesmerizing. I hope you’ve had a chance to hear him sing with his wife, Morgane, who is also his background singer. They are brilliant together. I just saw them in LA on 6/10 and my mind was blown. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Classifying him as just a Country singer does not do him justice - he’s a blues-country-soul-rock singer, and possibly the only one I’ve seen, ever. I love seeing people hear him for the 1st time, and the reaction is always the same - sheer amazement. Thanks for posting this. ✌🏼
Your got that right. He's a all around singer and can knock your 🧦 off no matter what type of music he sings. I don't know any other artist that can do that
I just said the same thing!!
The CMA performance was golden, Justin and Chris was one of the best.
I agree. I think that Stapleton-Timberlake performance along with Stapleton’s wife Morgane singing harmony on the CMAs is still ONE OF “THE” BEST performances on ANY music award show that I have ever seen … period. Frankly, THAT is the performance he should have reviewed, as Chris was in even “better” voice that night.
Hi, enjoyed your reaction. Nice!! I grew up listening to the night time radio shows. I will be 60 next year. I don't know if anyone has told you this, you have the perfect voice for a night time DJ. You have those low tones, mellow and sweet. You could easily do a night show. I am new subscriber. Looking forward to hearing more reactions.
He’s definitely more blues than country, to me. Amazing when his wife is there for harmony.
Especially since this music is from the song I Would Rather Go Blind by Etta James.
Can you imagine him singing this with Janis Joplin? That’d be dope
Oh YES I could! Janis Joplin had a voice like none other! They would have sounded great together!
Or ETTA JAMES.
ua-cam.com/video/ffjoTZbsDDQ/v-deo.html don't imagine listen.
Oh yes!!!! He should do somekind of remake of one of her songs with them both singing!!! You had a great idea!!!!!!
Brides G,
Talking about dope. Didn't she O.D. on D O P E ? ...
Nice when a singer, husband, and dad roll it up and take it to the road with his best backup harmonizer, his wife. Great job guys.
That WAS Fantastic!! And taking NOTHING Away from Chris Stapleton, at All - but thru You Tube, I have now heard "Tennessee Whiskey" sung by numerous unkown singers in different genres from professional set-ups, street entertainers, singing it themselves, or those asking for volunteers, not knowing what they were going to sing..., & I have YET to be Disappointed!! I mite have my preferences ~ but it is One Mighty, Soulful Song ~ Totally in Itself, the Words..., & then Depending on the Delivery of the Singer!! LOVING IT! ❤ Always SM♥︎♥︎♥︎TH as Tennessee Whiskey!! 😊
He definitely has soul!! Checkout his rendition of james browns "its a man's world"!!!
I second this. His rendition of James Brown is insane.

I second that! 🔥
This song is over 40 years old. Chris Stapleton transformed it into magic.
As a huge blues and heavy metal guy, when I first heard this dude; I simply could not believe his voice. The lord blessed this guy, amen.
Chris is the only person I can think of (right off hand) that is legitimately BETTER LIVE than recorded. Always opt for live performances when you do a reaction video.
David Draiman (Disturbed) is vocally better live also.
Gary Clark, Jr and John Mayer are also 1000x better live than on record. I feel like the record companies over produce their work to make it more commercially viable.
If you are American, you probably won’t know this guy, however I’m going to mention him, because he is great! His name is John Farnham! He’s an Aussie like me! Please check him out! Like me he is not young anymore, however he is awesome!
You really need to hear it when Morgane, his wife, is providing harmonies. Her voice is beautiful (she wasn’t with him because she was about to give birth!) Also, you need to watch this with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 CMAs. They also played JT’s Drink You Away and it has to be the best male live duet EVER! And I am not only one who says it. It was that performance that launched Chris into the stratosphere and he is staying there!
A true artist, stunning voice, humble man.
He is a soul rytm and blues man dressed up as a country artist. He has done his homework well. Great live performer. Most of the time together on stage with his wife Morgan. She is a fantastic singer. They sound amazing together. This song is a cover. But he made it his own. Cold, is another song i absolutly love. Written by him. Sound like something coming from a bond movie.
From someone from across the waters, Westen Australia. Listening to Chris Stapelton - Tennessee whiskey and especially your commentary. Thank you much
He was a songwriter to start with before he became a singer
Yes sir. Chris has soul! Amen. Love when country remembers its soul.
My husband Cris sang this song for me and I felt in love with Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey ❤❤❤❤❤ what that voice?❤❤❤❤❤❤ Best soul country singer ❤
Watch his performance of this song at the CMA award show when he won for this song. His buddy Justin Timberlake joined him for a show stopping performance. It’s a must see and is on UA-cam.
Yes!!!
Gotta watch the whole performance. The Mix of JT and CS is just magical when they do a song by each performer.
Thats no lie!!! That performance was outta this world!!
The song “say something “ with him and jt
One of my favorite performances - get over there and watch it ! Run, don’t walk !
Chris is amazing
Did you watch the Super Bowl? Best National Anthem -bar none. Chris Stapleton is the man.
Are you kidding? I could listen to that soul soothing music all day long. so good. Thank you thank you thank you.
Try the cover of it's a man's world by James Brown. The band asked him on stage from the audience. He also did an amazing cover of Prince. This man is generational. He has written #1 hits for other artists. Definitely more Chris Stapleton.
Just listening to this song all the way through, no interruptions with your eyes closed will give you a huge shot of natural dopememine and send goosebumps all over your body! Love them so much so smooth and soulful
I am not a country music fan, but I absolutely love this song. Heard it at my daughter’s house last year in Tennessee. Bluesy sounding to me. I am with you on live performances.
Soul, Jazz, country All in One! Stapleton & band is great! Saw group perform in Orlando. Incredible!

When I say I LOVE Chris Stapleton!! Omg. Im so glad more people are giving him a chance.
We "Old School" folks call Chris's music country soul. PEACE!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed hearing him. His wife is also one hell of a singer. When they sing together, it is truly magic
Chris has written songs for Nashville greats & never been out front. Someone heard him sing & said “you’re on the wrong side of the mic!” The rest is history..⭐️⭐️
This dudes vocal chords been touched by an angel. 🎶
Chris Stapleton is magic. His music is wonderful, emotional and amazing.
My brother Polo, you say country isn't your thing. I believe that you are a young man whose thing is that you like good music. Please don't put yourself in an imaginary box, you are far too intelligent to short change yourself. Open your options and enjoy a wider variety of great music. This is coming from a 66 year old white grandma who even has rap and hip-hop on her playlist along with Mozart. Good music is good music!
Personally I love music from every genre. That being said, Chris Stapleton is one of those voices that is legendary.
Glad that you enjoyed his music.
This is not my FAVORITE rendition, but he’s always incredible. Watch him sing it with his wife. It’s magical. Life goals ❤
Chris’ band are some of the best in the business and have legit experience as “in demand” sessions musicians. Mickey Raphael is the best harmonica player in the industry. Dave Cobb is also a music producer whose work is well respected and requested by many top country artists. J T Cure has worked with Chris for over 20 years etc. You really need to check out the 2015 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards show and watch Chris and Justin Timberlake put on a definitive lesson in the joy of gifting folks with outstanding vocal and entertainment performances.
Absolutely one of my favorites!! I love this so much!!
This was the first Chris Stapleton song my husband played for me. I was an instant lover and know all the words to his songs. I even planned a New Orleans vacation around his concert just to make sure we could go. Never listened to country music before I heard him and now I play it more than the hubby does. 😊😊😊..
He has Soul. 100% spot on. He could be sing gospel just as easily as country
his live performance with Justin Timberlake is so freaking awesome. I could watch it on repeat.
I love Chris Stapleton can't no one sing Tennessee Whiskey like him
Saw Chris in concert in West Palm Beach . Easily the best show I’ve ever been too. He’s even better live. Truly a once in a generation artist.
I have never watched any of your commentary videos, but I want to say thank you. You are honest, heartfelt, and soulful in your commentary. I am certain you just broadened the musical horizons in many of your viewers and followers. Well done sir, you made the world a better place today.
The version he does in Austin City Limits will have you loving this all over again. I think its just the atmosphere and the version itself... he really outdid himself there. Its always my go to version of this song when I want to listen to it. This is my 2nd favorite though. That bluesy feel, blows me away every time. Great reaction!
When he played with Willie on tour, it was amazing too.
After I read your comment, I had to go find the Austin version.
You are right! It's up another level.
I must see CS in concert ...
The concert I saw listed online is for 31 Aug in Boston, MA.
I said that part just in case anyone reading this can get to Boston next month.
When he sang with Justin Timberlake. OMG!
His wife sang with him during that show. So beautiful and absolutely amazing!
