As a fellow O.G. Endeavor fan (and longtime scuba diver, to boot!), I'm very glad to see you playing this, Mr. Phour. However, after having watched your playthrough, I'm not convinced the Endeavor design is suited to solitaire. At all! It seems like you're just playing that lovely and wonderfully brief Endeavor gameplay (7 rounds, and they *fly* by, as you kept noting!), but instead of competing with other players, you're presented with arbitrary -- and frankly quite difficult -- objectives. At least, that's how it looked to me. Like you, I adore Endeavor; but as a solitaire boardgamer, I don't see the appeal of turning it into a ruthless optimization puzzle. : ( But if you keep playing, I'll definitely watch more Deep Sea Endeavor. I'm curious how different scenarios are from each other. Orca tokens, huh? Hmmm.....
It definitely doesn't have the same feel or appeal as Endeavor, but I'm a beggar at this point, since it seems like a solid bot for OG is never going to happen. "Ruthless optimization puzzle" is perfectly put, which definitely appeals to many, and I imagine a lot of the hardcore solitaire crowd fall in to that group, but because of that, Deep Sea lacks my favorite question while gaming - "what do I want to do"?
Jan/10/2025 update: Your observations nailed it. After a few more plays I wasn't enjoying this solo at all. It is... dead in the water. It's not a bad game, it's just not enjoyable to me as a solo endeavor. I can easily see how multiplayer would be best, scoring vs each other instead of trying to clear the objectives. Since I rarely game with more than myself, sadly this is going to be shelved.
@@CeePhour Nooo, so sorry to hear that, Mr. Phour. I would much rather you had discovered new joys in the later scenarios. But at least that's one more game I can scratch off the list of titles I'm thinking of buying! You're not just entertaining, Mr. Phour, you're helping me carefully cultivate my collection, as well. : )
For your track objectives you only get the number you finish on, for example the highest is 12 (it does not add up as you wrap around). Great playthrough :)
