At 2:52 you need to take care of that brake line. Tie it back or make a control bracket to keep it out of the spring.

Needs DC fast charging capability, even if its only 50kw
If its a farming vehicle, and it can be recharged overnight on the farm - surely it just needs enough power on an overnight charge get it through a day or two of work?
I'd rather have this than an Ineos Grenadier.

No, I would really rather have one of these.
The INEOS Grenedier is still diesel powered, so new ones can't be produced or sold in the UK after 2030. The Munro is looking further into the future.

In terms of looks I think it would look better with bigger wheels. But if it performs the best with the current wheel size there’s no reason to change it. At the end of the day it’s built for purpose 👌

No reason why it would perform better with smaller wheels, if anything bigger tyres are better for off roading. There’s plenty of room in those arches for some big boy tyres
To be a proper working farm vehicle, it needs to be able to tow. What’s it’s towing limit?
They have said it will have a towing rating of 3.5 tonnes, the same as the Ibex it is based on.
One lamb, half a cow or three bails of hay. Oh, and a tow hitch.
Too pricey to be used as a farm runaround. Looks like it was built by men in sheds but with a mercedes factory price tag.
Quite a lot of Range Rovers knocking about on farms though...

Have you seen the prices of new cars these days? A Ford Focus starts at £28,000!!!!. At 60-80k for something like this is a bargain relatively speaking. Plus, businesses can get the VAT back.

How long did the old landy Defender last? Will that last the same amount of time? Its OK trying to be 'green' but how much Carbon does that use to be produced? When that needs new batteries & the like, the Defender will still be working hard on vegetable oil! All the best..............
Although I agree with you about the misperceptions of EV "environmentally friendliness", I think you've missed the point. It's about the ease driving off road without a clutch and gears, and the superior torque that you simply can't get from a combination engine. Also, the bare basics of the vehicle, as apposed to what the Defender has become - a Range Rover, basically!
@@davidreid2301 You want the reward for driving off-road, hone your skills & don't let the car do it for you. It's not a servant, it's a tool. If you cannot use the tool (like a screwdriver) learn how to use it. A screwdriver doesn't drive in screws by itself!
@@davidreid2301superior torque? My car has the same amount of torque and it’s a naturally aspirated petrol V8 developed 30 years ago. Yes it comes a millisecond later than the electric motors but it’s a whole lot more fun than an EV.
The entire vehicle should be skinned in those thin rugged 'walkable' solar panels and a custom multi mppt controller. charges itself up to the maximum possible no matter if in use or parked or partially shaded.

I came mainly for all the anti-electric doomsayer comments, and I wasn’t disappointed.
And not a single mention of the range of the vehicle.
By the time it hits the market it'll be two or three times what it would be today.

Yep a Single vehicle is a very bad idea. But you can tow charge a BEV with Regen. Main thing is just have a massive battery with pleanty of range thus you never run out. Your silly hypothetical is pointless.

65k ? The Rivian R1T is less than that and looks and feels a million times better, Inlove the Munro but not for 65 K
You'll never get the R1T in the uk for 65k unless they build a factory here
RIT is $100k with a couple of options. The R1S will likely be starting at $100k upwards. Munro going for a different market also.
looks terrible like a pile of scrap flung together .
wish it had independent suspension and wish the farmer didn't have solar panels, they're not worth using if you're going "carbon neutral" if you actually know the production process

Thank you just a thought Embodied energy, refining crud oil it requires lots of electricity 🤔 🔥 locked in carbon that's why even burning dirty coal in far off power stations is better than toxic petrol burning ice, if used directly charging a ev, is just better, plan globaly is to go 100% renewable energy most being produced locally, smart micro grids home energy production with bi directional charging using ev,s as a charge bank, pasive homes. All transport will go electric for all because it works for all. You will be very disappointed, EV's are the present and future of motoring, and prices will become on parity as volumes rise and cheaper marques supply vehicles. The new Defender starts at £46,000, and goes up to £109,000.
