I bought one too. I'm so happy with it. I love the tone and the building quality. So far, the only bass of wich I like the tone (a little bit) better is the original '68 Fender Jazz bass. Can't afford that one though, and the tone difference does not make up for the difference in price, I'm afraid. How Harley Benton can make this instrument for this price I can't understand. But I'm glad I bought one.
I almost bought one of these but when I saw the Ash body I knew it would be a heavy one. Very beautiful and sounds awesome. I still may go for the HB JB-20. Thanks for the post.
A good post..thanks. I'm a beginner (again). I had a German Warwick Corvette to start with but found it way too heavy..switched to a PB but couldn't handle the neck width...maybe this JB is the way to go!
I just got this bass today (B-stock purchase) and the fit and finish, the pickups, the ash body and maple neck puts the Fender basses to shame,...and for only a fraction of the price. I got mine from Thomann in Germany, shipped to the U.S. in five days, for only $135, plus shipping.

Great demo, your playing ability showcased it well. A 70's jazz bass should be ash but there's heavy and light. Many of the cheaper basses that use ash end up heavy. e.g. The Japanese 75 reissue. They are noticeably heavy compared to the US counterpart and also generally 3 piece instead of 2. You get what you pay for but as a second or beginner these look like a great option.

hey man! Thank you for this review. I am 153 centimeters tall girl. Everyone says that this bass has got a big body and is really heavy. But i'm in love with the looks. I'm going to play standing. So do you think this bass is right for me or not really?
It is a very heavy bass, I measured it at almost 6.5kg! The best way to help with that is to get a very wide strap to spread out the weight on your shoulder. I'm a big fan of wide leather straps for guitars!
I bought one couple of weeks ago. It is intended asa moding platform but damn, I don't think I'll have to change a lot. I have no idea how do they manage to build such a good instrument for a 170€. It is a bargain. I tryed an almost the same Squier Jazz bass several times and the only diffrence is the headstock shape and the price tag. I brought it to my band rehersal, they couldnt belive the sound and build quality. And mind you, I was really sceptical. I saw a bunch of videos on that bass and Harley Benton in general and 97% of them were saying only good stuff. I thought Thomann is really investing in marketing but they got me convicned with this one...
Hey Good Day. May I ask is it heavier than 'normal' bass guitar? do you think it is a heavy one? I am a guitar player and doesnt like heavy one as it is a bit hard when you stand when playing a heavy one.... thx!
That's a shame! I've had some decent Squiers in the past too, but this one is far better than any I've personally had. With any of these cheap instruments, knowing how to do the basic setups usually gets you a very playable instrument.

100% agree you have to spend a lot more to get a noticeable improvement over this one.

Yeah part of me is considering routing out some of the body if I were to use it live.
I have the same one ,love it and l always get comps
I believe it! It's an excellent axe.

Glad you liked it! I will say this jazz bass is pretty heavy, it comes in at a whopping 12lbs!
Love the editing on this vid! And always enjoy hearing you on bass bro
Thanks! I’m thinking about doing a full bass lesson series, it’s been a while since I really focused on it!
@@jackpaynebassist I would be totally on that! I recently got a nice bass and really want to play more
Well, I don’t know if it’s the best cheap bass, but I have it, and after been playing for 2 years still very very awesome.
Very awesome and very cheap indeed!

Thank you! That's exactly how i feel about this one. Honestly the weight is my only complaint, everything else about it is fantastic.
I bought it and I'm glad I did. It sounds perfect.....it looks perfect. A bit heavy but I don't mind.
Great to hear! That was my exact experience with it. They record wonderfully.

I love the look of this bass.the headstock reminds me of the Flintstones..yabba Dabba doooooo!!! Thats a good thing btw.
Definitely got big Dino rib energy
Got me GASing for a Harley Benton bass now. Thanks 😆
I can honestly say it’s well worth the money
I got the MV-4JB with Gotoh tuners… 🤘🏾

I think the Squier series basses are lighter, although they are a bit more expensive.
Cool bass🎸, nice color. Sounds very awesome. Wondering how heavy is it. 🎶I stop playin because of my back, and bben looking for something lighter.🎹
I weighed this one the other days it's like 12 pounds. That's the only real problem with it.
could you thin the body on the back about 1/3rd of an inch to lower the weight?
yo what is that jazz bass at 2:34 i LOVE that color!!!
It is an MIJ Aerodyne Jazz. It's a non export model so look at Japanese sellers to find one. It is the absolute prettiest
@@jackpaynebassist BRO i was WONDERING why it looked like an aerodyne! Lol

Yes, it is definitely heavier - most basses I have are more like 7-10 lbs but this measured 12lbs on my scale!

send two HB bassed back cause they were shit, squier is a lot better, get a squier
