- Join us on a vietnamese food tour through the city of Hai Phong here in Northern Vietnam!
We set off in search of some delicious street food here in Hai Phong and managed to eat some things that you'll only find here in this city. We got ourselves some of the super popular Banh mi cay, a couple of bowls of Sui Din from the loveliest aunty on the street and then we finished off with an unknown snack that is only found here in Hai Phong!
Hai Phong has some of the greatest street food in Vietnam in my opinion.

@@ocmanga5685 Thankyou so much 🙏🙏
Love the vibes! You surpassed A. Bourdain in getting the locals to open up. Love it.
@@voicevosi Thanks so much couldn't ask for anything more 🙏
I couldn't agree more, however I think Haiphong needs take some inspiration from other foodie places in Vietnam to improve the overall presentation of their dishes. As an example; even something as small as adding extra garnish to a dish goes a long way in terms of presentation and completeness of the dish.
Rất ít UA-cam nước ngoài chọn Hải Phòng làm nơi du lịch trải nghiệm, ẩm thực ở đây rất ngon. cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ
Thanks so much for watching. They are missing out we really enioy Hai Phong 🇻🇳
gần đây rất nhiều
Vietnam has such of variety food and flavor... such a foodie country lol 😆
For sure Sandy you'd never get bored eating here!
yeah, especially Hai Phong city
Another awesome video guys....
Cheers!!
I look forward to watching your videos every day, very interesting
Thankyou so much I really appreciate it 🙏
Another very interesting video. You make the streets a place I’m wanting to walk around 👌🏼 hopefully one day
Such interesting food on offer. Enjoying the journey into all the unknown dishes and the pooping puppies too 😊
It's really an interesting city for foodies! Sorry for the graphic doggo clips
Absolutely buzzing for Vietnam now and I’m only 5 minutes in mate! I could eat 50 of those banh mi
Mate you'd love Hai Phong it's right up your street get it saved for a future trip!
Everyone says those little banh mis are delicious. My SIL is from there and when she took her kids to visit her family, they were eating them like there was no tomorrow. Max McFarlin and Chris Lewis rave about them as well.
Thank you bro ... wellcome to haiphong
Cheers!!
You know the French colonised Vietnam for about 150 years before 1975 and so they brought their baguette and pate recipes with them. The Vietnamese just make it better 😊 Hence how pork rolls and banh mi thit came about. They make the bread rolls a lot lighter now by adding rice flour and not just using wheat flour. The pate recipe is a bit different now too, adding fatty pork mince to liver and baking it for more colour and flavour.
Looks like an amazing snack those bread sticks with the pate filling!
My 75 year old Vietnamese mother used to make that ginger syrup dessert when I was young with the balls with mung bean filling. Was that red bean filling? She doesn't make desserts anymore because she doesn't want us to have diabetes! 😅
I love how you both just immerse yourself and sit with the locals ❤❤ Great video. Thank you! X
Thanks for your amazing comment again 🙏🇻🇳❤️
That dish was so unusual - glad you enjoyed it x
Looked so great - taste sensations 😊
love the trip and energies. best vibe
Thanks so much ❤️
Very nice video. Nice to see a travel vlogger visiting and making a video on Haiphong, Vietnam.
I think the city needs about 10 more years of development and exposure to foreign tourists for it to become a tourist destination in Vietnam.
We loved Hai Phong! I worry that if all the tourists arrive it won't be as enjoyable!🇻🇳
Thank you ❤
Thanks for watching 🙏🇻🇳
This small city looks very interesting. I love the more grimy real places also. Those little bahn mi's looked really tasty!
Man it's such a fun place
This city not small . Haiphong is big city .man
Haiphong is the third biggest city in Vietnam, after Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city
btw, banh mi, not bahn 😂😂😂
@@BongBang13 Thanks for explaining 🙏 HP food is so delicious people treated us so kindly 🇻🇳
@@EllisWR thank u ❤ i'm was born in HP and still living here. HP is most underatted city in VN
@@BongBang13 I agree, it's our favorite city 🇻🇳❤️
Sound crunchy
The crunch on the bread got me hungry.
Everything was so tasty! Cheers for watching 🙏
Beautiful City
Yes amazing we love it
@@EllisWR Absolutely amazing
omg the innoncents of the banh mi guy getting confused with laungage barrier when you said try he was going to give you one but then you said 10 and then he thought you said buy but at the 3:58 mark you can see him finally overcome his doubt and give you one to try LOLOL
Ahah it was my fault for speaking bad Northern English, the guy was absolutely lovely 🙏
I am in Haiphong. Haiphong is cheaper than Hanoi for living. The weather and air is bester than Hanoi....
We like both cities but Hai Phong was super fun for us 🇻🇳
เพื่อนเราขาลุย เดินทางปลอดภัยครับ
Thanks for watching my friend 🙏
Guess I spoke too soon in your last video as you found the breadsticks with pate on it in this video. Hahaha! So they're as good as everyone says, eh? Good to know. I'm curious what was stuffed inside those mochi balls in the ginger sauce. Also, when they give you extras and such as they often do (I think the last video, the guy said he gave you more because you're a foreigner), do you ever leave them extra? Or just let them keep the change?
Hey no we don't do that anymore it usually confuses and sometimes offends people also, they do it out of kindness not for money. sometimes if we get to know a local seller or granny etc we might get them a thoughtful gift but never money.
Also being from the UK tipping doesn't exist atall, if I was rich though I'd love to help lots of people
I think people are just happy to meet and have a chat 🙏
👍👍🔥🔥
Hey thanks for watching!
Hi. my grandfa was born in HP. There are only a few 'banh duc tau' stalls in the world that sell this type of food. and they are all in Hai Phong. Nowhere in Vietnam sells this dish.
How amazing we are lucky to have tried this 🙏
❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
20:45 that is Banh Duc Tau, my favorite food
Oh really wow! It's so tasty! 🇻🇳
same.
You confused that guy when you said try.
Yeah I know I spoke too much hahah he was really nice though
I can't go back for the moment due to legal issues. Your videos are my eyes and ears. I appreciates you. Thank you for sharing.
@@tuyenpham1033 Thankyou so much for watching
I'm Vietnamese, but you even eat more Vietnamese food than me 😂😂😂
Hahah thankyou for watching, we eat anything!
How are you today, look like a North Viet Nam tour, would you go to Hạ Long City?
Next Time we come to Vietnam should we visit is that your hometown? :) where would you like us to go 🇻🇳❤️
@@EllisWR Yes, Ha Long city is where I was born. But now I'm an international student in Korea. I will graduate on next August, and will return to Vietnam (expected). If you come back to Vietnam after August, I would like to meet and invite you to go sightseeing and enjoy local specialties. As a thank you for choosing Vietnam as one of your multi-country travel destinations.
@@ocmanga5685 Wow that would be so fun if we visit then we will definitely be in touch! Thankyou so much best of luck 🙏🇻🇳 Maybe we'll return in September!
you always said vietnamese friendly, but dont you know, you guys super super friendly too.
Thanks so much ❤️🇻🇳 we love Vietnam have an amazing day
can i ask, what kind of budget are you living off a month?
Hey we only spend around £400 a month, we live like locals and struggle to spend more than that
@@EllisWR damn that is amazing... Do a budget video... You'll get mega views.... Watch out for da dogs!
@@the0point Maybe I'll make a video like that. Or one day film a days budget or something. I usually just don't film stuff like that cos I think nobody cares haha
@@EllisWR they usually get massive hits cause we all want to know how to live cheap 😁 I admire your free wheelin ways.
@@the0point I'll try wangle one in somewhere maybe in a few countries see if people like it 👍 we're not cheapskates though we eat well and stay in double rooms, just do things how the locals do!
Oh my goodness! If I wasn't allergic to gluten I would destroy 50 or 60 of those in one sitting
Ahaha they are so good
hai phong - home of the northern gangsters
Yes! We love it 🇻🇳
