    It's a lot worse when you have a bad race. Everything went wrong for me last weekend and the recovery's been tough. This was well timed for me. Thanks.

      Frig. Sorry to hear that. If I have a bad race first thing I do is try and go easy on myself, honestly that can be an important step. But then I try to be brutally honest looking at why things went wrong. Make a list of what went wrong and anything on that list that is outside of your control ... forget about it. Anything that was within your control think about the changes you could and want to make.

      @@WhatMatterstoMatt not much that went wrong was in my control, whether it was breaking my toe on stairs during what should've been the highest mileage weeks, the 98% humidity start, half my gels falling out at an aid station, losing my headphones in the starting area (I keep them in reserve for tough times) or losing control of my heartrate running at what should've been a conservative pace. It's just a case of accept it happened and move on.
