i see this market segment as the charisma section. for me the GLE amg is as good as it gets, the x6 don't stand out, the Porsche has the best looking headlights and tailights, and the audi e-tron looks nice but not that nice.
Ever since the original BMW X6, I've yet to fully understand the fascination with this class of car...er coupe-ish SUV. You get less, pay more, and all in the name of "style". If you must, the Audi Q8 is probably the best of these types.
The Audi Q8 is a SUC and the Cayenne coupe does offer both a 4-seat and 5-seat configuration. I'd personally take the Cayenne coupe or A.M. DBX but the GLE63 AMG would be my 3rd choice.. Great review! 👏🏾👌🏾👏🏾✊🏾

Alex this was a great review, I have a BMW 2016 50i and looking for the next vehicle. My choice were Range Rover Sport, Cayenne Turbo, X6M and the new GLE AMG 53. I have test drove the Range Rover ah kind of dull, and I hate to say this but I always wanted the Porsche but I have driven cayenne , cayenne S and cayenne turbo and I just don’t like it, feels like a Chrysler mini van too me, I was shocked don’t like the view out the windshield as I feel,I’m sitting on the floor. Plus way too many moms driving it. Leaves me with the GLE and X6M, haven’t driven the GLE yet nor the new X6M but the Mercedes does look and sound great and a little classier than the beemer although I like the bmw handling. thank for your views as it is down to the merc and bmw hopefully,once I drive them it will be clear. Several of these "coupe" SUV things running around my neighborhood so after looking at them everyday I can unequivocally say they are both ugly and weird looking, however the BMW is much better looking than the Benz. Granted the X6 I usually see is black or a really dark burgundy, blacked out windows and black wheels which definitely helps a lot. If you actually want a "coupe" SUV that looks good the Q8/SQ8/RSQ8 is the clear winner, really good looking.
Is there really a market for these hideous coupe SUVs? Do people really look at this and say “wow, what a beauty”? Ok, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A coupe is supposed to beautiful, ride low and sporty. An SUV is supposed to ride high and be comfortable and practical. These don’t mix. You just end up with some weird looking compromise which handles worse than a coupe, has less space than an SUV and is less practical.
This very close to a properly proportioned sedan (or saloon). But it's a liftback, like KIA Stinger. Just a little bit more, Germans. You almost have it here.

If you like the way it looks...great! That's subjective. But imo, these things are stupid. They don't drive as well as sedans and they aren't as practical as regular SUV's. AND they're more expensive! But I guess there's a market for them.
What's in a name? God is Dog spelled backwards. It's not a coupé. It's a sales pitch. Mercedes says screw the English language. We want to sell vehicles.

This is one of the stupidest designs I've seen on vehicles in recent times (Merc, BMW, Porche, etc). I just don't see this as any remote improvement over the SUV counterpart, and it doesn't look good to nearly anyone I talk to. Guess manufacturers are trying something, but come on...
