yeah I used it on my old $200 bass and it sound awesome, I also used it on my fender Geddy lee's signature bass and I love the sound even more! I would highly recommend it!

I think I've used every string out there, many are good but these are my favorite. Tone, feel, and price it's really hard to beat these.

The low B is a 125...great percussive/focused tone!

I typically add .005 per dropped note (like moving from .100 to .105 on my Hipshot "D-Tuner"-equipped Basses) so I use EPS220-5 which is a Light 5-String set of.125/.095/.075/.060/.040 and tune UP from B to C/C# (that's a ProSteels set but is also made in Nickels as EXL220-5.

He uses our EXL170-5 set .045 .065 .080 .100 .130
thanks for this demo i got a yamaha rbx6jm bass beatifull thing the frets are somewhat a little old and need to be replaced soon... little did i know that stell strings wear the frets away, so i made a terrible mistake, from a bass that is like 13 years old and i want these strings to give me a decent sound without wearing the frets again, i think this is it, thanks again :)
good scott...thanks ....but pls also change eq....turn UP treble...for slap bass..so can hear all freq too...and then, turn DOWN eq...so we can see what happens...
The D'Addario nickel wound are the best strings you can buy and they last a very long time unlike Ball Sack strings hahaha , I use EXL170 only , I better go back to my bass now.

Do you guys make 6 string basses and if so what strings do you reccommend.
what gauge would you recommend for an E string dropped down to C#? i prefer a harder-feeling string over a floppy one. i was thinking something like .110 but i don't know if it's enough or too much. btw i use a drop C# tuning on my 5 string bass (A#-C#-G#-C#-F#)

I just bought the EXL-165 set from my local music store. The G, D and A strings sound fantastic but the E string was pretty dull right from the package :(
+Albin Signell Is this the same gauge that you normally use? Make sure that the .105 E string isn't binding at the nut or saddle. You can email George.Santos@daddario.com if you belive the string to be bad and we'll gladly replace it for you.
+daddariostrings What do you exactly mean with "binding"?
If you haven't had a .105 on the bass previously, the nut might only accommodate a smaller string. The string can get choked by the nut - not something that happens a great deal but we always like to rule out all possibilities.
+daddariostrings Oh ok. My previous set of strings had a 105, and that E string never had this issue. I think I'll ask for a replacement, but thanks for the great support and quick response!
