In that time I've moved from the middle east, got married, moved to china and had to leave china due to the outbreak and now me and my wife are at my mums in the UK until we move back to the middle east. He never said kipping pull-ups were bad for you. But no cross fitter worth their salt doesn't work strict strength. For the one millionth time: it's two different movements with two different purposes. One is for speed, agility, and keeping the heart rate and intensity up during a workout. The other is for strength. Please stop getting caught up in the way cross fitters name the two movements. Obviously a kipping pull-up is not what you call a pull-up. What you call a pull-up is what crossfitters call a "strict pull-up". It's always just been a silly stressing out about the name.

Does the strict chest to bar help with shoulder stability Craig? I’m battling a shoulder issue at the moment, basically pain with internal rotation.
Yep, give it a bash and see! Start with a band. If it gives you issues/aggravates stop but it could really help
