I bought one of these in August. No socket in the kitchen, but a plug in the overhead locker for the microwave. An adapter and a short extension lead behind the MW attached to the back wall with numberplate tape and hey presto, we have a socket to plug the kettle into. I have also made a round topper to cover the sink, giving more work space when sink not in use.
@B We had a go pod for 7 years and recently upgraded to the Swift Compact We love it. A bit more headroom and the seats are more cpmfortable. Ours is a dealer special with extra kit. From memory the shower will heat about 8 ,litres of water. Its only a small caravan so limited space for tanks.
Good review Andy, thanks. It's a shame they don't put some small roof lockers in place of the sunroof and maybe some shelves in the wardrobe. I guess the issue with a 4 berth is the width. We found our standard width Sprite with mid-kitchen was narrow when people needed to pass. That would a be a lot worse on the Compact. Swift do the Basecamp 3 or 4 and they could do this layout in a Sprite easily enough. The 304 is a bit wider than the Compact I think?
Thanks Paul good point on width yes 7ft would be good as the 304 and on my first review last year I thought of over head front lockers to thank you for the great input and comments
Hi Andrew, another great review. Although it looks a good caravan I still prefer the Lunar Ariva mainly because of the square sink giving more useable space around it as worktop space is limited. The front overhead lockers, the 240V socket at the front etc. What would be absolute latest/newest Ariva I could purchase please ?
Thank you Bob - The Ariva was a cracking tourer - and I knew them well at the factory too - latest one would be a 2018 also look for a dealer special such as the Cosmos made for Campbells caravans - thank you for the comments Bob
Sorry to spam your channel Andy. I just want to add that I much prefer the lighter upholstery and general look compared to the previous model. That is a thumbs up from me.
I can really see this becoming a classic icon caravan in the future and I think it will become very sought after similar to the 1970's Ci Cadet 10 nowadays.
Do you know how many plug sockets are in this van? And how many USB sockets? I saw what looked like 2 sockets in the kitchen but you mentioned there weren’t any in the kitchen. Cracking little van, I’m torn between the Bailey discovery and this.
Hi Steve - there are 2 usb and I am sure two sockets which a third would be better on dealer specials such as broadlanes fairway there would be three plus alarm and upholstery upgrade and solar panel - the disco 2 is ok but could be harder to sell later and though the Bailey is bigger the Sprite has a better build feel and also looks really smart, let me know how you get on and thanks for contact
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk Thanks for your reply. That’s what I thought about the discovery 2, it looks great but the quality looks a little bit cheaper looking compared to the sprite, the discovery looks great on the outside but inside it looks a little basic. I’ve been doing some research on build quality and they both use there own type of construction process, Swift- Smart and Bailey- Alu-Tech, as a newbie this means nothing to me 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
@@estd1984 as in most things manufacturers have their own slant construction on both are. It immune to problems I personally like the sprite have you checked out the new swift base camp as a possible ? Or maybe the alpine 2 from sprite love to know your thoughts
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk I like the basecamp, but I do prefer the interior of more traditional vans, the bags for cupboards and no under seat storage are a bit of a deal breaker for me, the alpine 2 like the basecamp are a bit more pricier and the alpine 2 is just that bit much over my tow capacity too unfortunately.
@@estd1984 I would also look at a compact dealer special possibly too but compact as it is is a sturdy little tourer I would also try and stick to uk brands but Adria are a long imported make check out their action I have done a review on that too if you check through my video list
For the high charge for this the penny pinching re sockets at front, lack of fold-up table to help with amenities it’s too steep. Best without the sunroof, they keep failing on so many Swifts cracking and leaking as not fit for purpose, it needs redesigning so best this doesn’t have that.

That’s a good idea, the round topper would be perfect for extra space
Brilliant thanks for that Richard hope your compact is doing okay thanks
@B electric only

@B it does yes
What, this is amazing Mr. Expert, with your incredible Technical industry knowledge. You're really fartin' sparks!
thanks dude good to hear - keep watching and learning !
Agree, would be nice to see the Alpine C layout back again
Wouldnt it just It has been mentioned to Swift lets see Garry
I think you make a good point about a compact 4 berth.
It’s crying out for one I think Gareth glad you agree thanks for watching

The focus seems off in a lot of the video?
Hi rich hmm odd that hope it didn’t spoil your viewing to much I will check out I hadn’t noticed thank you
@@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk I’m sorry I didn’t mean to sound rude. I enjoyed the video and was just suggesting some improvement

Who takes a television on caravan holidays these days? I just stream the shows from my iPad over mobile internet or caravan site WiFi.
I do ha ha !!! think TVs will be around yet for awhile but good point

Another socket wouldn’t go amiss but parts prices haveshot up a free years ago this would have cost around 2
16. K plus
Like it externally.
Internally, nope.
Too much wardrobe.
I think Swift have done a decent job but thats my personal taste Ann ha ha
