- Jared gets excited about the Disney Halloween cult classics Mr. Boogedy (1986) & Bride of Boogedy (1987).
Forgive the poor quality of the footage. The only available sources are bootlegs.
This is pure childhood nostalgia. I remember being terrified of Mr. Boogedy when I was 4 (and honestly in Bride of Boogedy, he is a really more evil character), but always wanted to watch both movies.
It’s funny that the first one was far more hokey and they probably had no intentions of spawning a sequel, and then the sequel came along and literally added such depth to it.
And I don’t care who you are, Mr. Boogedy is just a grand villain. Howard Witt could tune up the evil.
I was also so terrified of Mr Boogedy! But still wanted to watch it haha
We had Bride of Boogedy taped off the tv when I was a kid and I watched it so much my parents had to hide the video from me
I was never so happy my mom taped mad crazy shit off tv. I finally lost the tape like ten years ago and searched desperately to replace it and the quality was absolute garbage. I’m thrilled about this 😍
Same my Nana had it taped on vhs right from tv
Thank you Disney Plus for showing this!
Mr. Boogedy is one of my favorite movies. From My childhood. and I still like them today and I wish they had did had a third one?
OMG I love both these movies! I was 4 years old when I first watched this movie! Scared the crap out of me! Now every Halloween I watch part 1 and 2 with my family!
Witherspoon is a different character in part 2, John Astin (Mister) plays NEIL Witherspoon, and Leonard Frey (Bride) plays WALTER Witherspoon. It would have been great if that was his son.... he's a bit... unusual.
Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad there's an in-story explanation, but I still want Levy back.
My mom swears these movies scared the hell out of me as a kid but I have absolutely zero memory of either. Must have blacked out in fear.
For the longest time I thought I was the only one who remembered these! XD Though I only ever saw Bride of Boogedy (I knew there had to be a first film by some of the dialogue in it). One of the random things my grandmother taped off tv for us as kids. I just found out it's a Disney film and just signed up for Disney+ and found both of them on there so I'm SUPER excited (since I'm not sure where my bootleg dvd of both films ended up. Not that I would ever buy such a thing! LOL! ;) )
I used to love watching these during Halloween when I was a kid. In the early 2000s, I worked at a videostore and had customers asking ALL THE TIME for them. Unfortunately I don't think Disney ever officially released them. I'm glad Mr. Boogedy is now on Disney+ but Bride of Boogedy isn't!
The first one is on Disney Plus now, but unfortunately, the quality isn't any better than a bootleg. Still great to share with the family, though.
@@jmjeffries2 Yes, I was surprised the quality was so bad!
I almost forgot this movie, lol! We loved it in my family. I was 8, lol. Good old days. I remember the ice cream scene where the guy put chopped onion on the ice cream as a topping, lol.
These movies do not hold up for me but the power of nostalgia is still strong.
05:01 Eugene Levy would be the reason I’d watch this ❤️ 😂….”I don’t like carnivals and I don’t like kids, so go on! Get out of here!”
"I hope it rains." Lol Mr. Lynch was my favorite character in the sequel.
The girl in the sequel later played the lead character of Alexandra in Wishmaster.
I wondered if I would ever run into people who loves and appreciates these movies 🖤🖤🖤
This is such a beautiful classic movie
I got to watch this in school around 4th grade loved it
I loved this show as a kid
This movie was a favorite of mine. Also i really young so Mr Boogedy had me freaked out and laughing at the same time
i just bought the dvd for both movies. i will watch them or at least one later today maybe
Yet no body questions about who gave him the cloak. The first movie said it was an entity of the devil which means long living therefore they would still be alive in the town with them while all that is happening. The second movie was all about finding that cloak and still no body looks into it. It could have been a third movie.
I never understood why they didnt just write neal witherspoons character out as retired or even deceased and this dude playing him would be playing his replacement instead. They could have really went deeper with it and gave this guy his own character dept and had fun with it.
Oh man, Kristy Swanson! I can't tell you how many times as a teen I wanted my own zombie/cyborg Kristy Swanson. I didn't care she/it would eventually crush my head with a basketball.
Deadly Friend 🦾👍🏼
Loved these movies
The other mr Witherspoon is apparently is supposed to the brother of John Aston mr Witherspoon
That actually makes sense
I loved this movie
BOOOOOOGETYYYYYY!!!!
Wow I take it masr everyone was born around 85 best generation ever!!!;)

Think I might have seen these som 35 years ago, but not sure. Does the kid have a really nice treehouse in this?
Sorry. No treehouse.
@@jmjeffries2 Hmm....I see. Then what 80s light horror movie was it I saw that had a treehouse?
too bad john astin and lemmy kilmeister are both deceased. i could picture john portraying him in a documentary
Astin is still alive. He's 93.
Boogedy
Correct.
Yeah no shit, Disney is evil and i now only see it. Lucifer falls?
boogedy....Just kidding!!
