    It could just be me, but personally I find the way this video is cut to be quite jarring. I understand that you’re trying to make the video shorter and more watchable by cutting all the smaller throws, but it really makes it harder to follow the flow of the competition when we’re jumping all over the place. It also just really seems like a shame to me that we didn’t see any of the throws from the bottom few athletes. They still worked so hard to get there, deserve to at least be broadcast. Like I sad, it could just be me, and people could prefer the smaller videos, I just would rather have the complete and unaltered footage.

      I’d prefer to see all the throws but maybe not the walk ups. When Alex Rose had his first throw and I saw that 2 others had already thrown I went back to see if I missed it.

    That was awesome, Discus rocks, not as easy as it looks, this discus weighs 4.4 pounds, and the distances are approaching 80 meters, do the math. These guys are getting so big and powerful, it makes it look like a kids toy. Thanks for sharing, hard to find this in usual sports casting stuff

      Don’t forget they do have a component of lift that helps them go further

    • @saragrant9749

      The discus actually weighs 2kg, not 4.4 pounds. The actual pound measurement is something in between 4.3 and 4.4 pounds.

    • @Mechanarian
      @Mechanarian Місяць тому

      Sorry mate but you’re just plain wrong there, the conversion is one kilo to 2.2046 pounds, that would make a discus 4.4092 pounds, I think we can safely ignore the extra 0.0092 pounds or 4 grams

      Really open your chest when you release and aim high (not too high)

    • @saragrant9749
      @saragrant9749 Місяць тому +1

      Work to maintain an open chest so it feels natural. Practice rotating on the ball of your foot so you train your center of balance. Never forget that it is one smooth, fluid motion from feet to hand at release.

    You guys did a awful job at the camera angles. I’m juts telling you can fix it for future events. When people look at these vidoes they want to do technical analysis. And it’s tuff from this angle.

      First of all, try using the English language PROPERLY before whining and complaining- it reflects on you in a way you probably don’t want it to. Second of all, there are only certain angles the camera operators can utilize due to safety requirements and not interfering with the athletes. These camera angles are perfectly fine, do your “analysis” with what is shown.

    Kristjan Čeh is the Nikola Jokić of the discus.

    • @6to7figures
      @6to7figures 8 місяців тому

      They are around the same size

    • @realthursty4953
      @realthursty4953 8 місяців тому

      @@6to7figures You underestimate how tall Jokić is. He was measured at 6'11 for the draft but he said something about having grown since then, yet he is still listed as 6' 11". Having been to the games at courtside I can tell you that Jokić is much taller than other players listed at 6'11". So if he is 7' - 7'1 he is significantly taller than Čeh who is listed at 6' 9". From the perspective of a short person they both probably seem equally outrageously tall, or about the same size but for us normal sized people, well over 6', the difference is notable. While I think Jokić could be trained to excel at other sports (quarterback) I don't think he could ever be trained to beat Čeh in the discus. I doubt Čeh could do what Jokić does in basketball. My comparison was that they are both good at what they do beyond what their size gives them and that they seem to have similar personalities.

      Each throwing event requires specific technique, unique strengths and timing. Most elite throwers focus on one specific event in order to perfect their technique in the most specialized way possible. I understand what you’re saying, but an elite athlete that does more than one throwing event is a very rare thing, for the aforementioned reasons.

      No, they actually are correct. Remember, you’re looking at it from an angle where seeing the actual point of contact with the ground is virtually impossible. These officials know exactly what they’re doing- I know firsthand.
