Modern dissipators are very niche. I made one by accident and love it. I appreciate the content you are making.

I think they’re a cool idea. I’d say only really practical suppressed, but we will see how reliable it is

Colt stopped "F marking" their FSBs years ago when they stopped producing carry handle uppers. With their production only outputting flat-top uppers, they ARE using the correct FSB, it's just not marked as such. They really should mark them because almost everyone who knows the difference and what to look for gets thrown off by this.

I forgot to mention in this video, but in the others I did, idk who makes the FSB but it’s a Ballistic Advantage barrel, and they put it together for brownells

@@shootintheshtpodcastGot it, that makes sense. I was thrown by "Colt" in the title. At this point it's hard to tell with an unmarked FSB without measuring with calipers. Doesn't really matter I suppose if you're only running the optic 🤙

@@colberae I have a colt 6933 upper and I believe it is F marked. But I’ll have to look. Sorry I didn’t mention it in the video. It was an oversight

As a lefty maybe you could give me some advice on the ambidextrous AR platforms? In your experience what is the quickest and most efficient bolt release to use as a lefty? The bolt release on the left side you press with your trigger finger that the righties press with their thumb? Or the ambi bolt release on the right of the gun?

@@shootintheshtpodcast I watched the whole video, it was good and insightful by the way! But my question was what bolt release do you personally habitually use for speed and efficiency? The bolt on the left you press with the trigger finger or the ambidextrous bolt on the right you press with your right thumb? Or did the video go into that and it just went over my head?

@@bensnow2411 if I’m running an Ambi receiver I’ll always try and use the right(Ambi) side. If I’m running a normal receiver then it’s always just the left side (standard) and nothing I can do about that

I know you didn't ask me, but I'm a southpaw and I normally use mil-spec controls. Reason being, I want to be as efficient as possible with any bone stock AR-15 that I purchase. Ambidextrous control are always great to have, but they're not always available. Nothing wrong with having them though - they're pretty nifty!
As far as how I do it, I normally hit the bolt release with my left index finger. I usually hit the mag release button with my right thumb, strip the magazine and load a new one. And finally, depending on the charging handle, I might roll the rifle over a few degrees and charge the charging handle by actuating the left handed lever, but I usually upgrade the charging handle to an ambidextrous one because who isn't running one these days?
The only part I always upgrade though, no matter what, is the charging handle.

15.5-16 inch barrel with rifle length gas system. Aka a colt 605

Also a very overlooked config in my opinion. I built one just for fun and it turned out to be a very good set up. I always heard real ones(rifle gas) were unreliable due to dwell time issues. So far, mine has been great.
