    Just bought my first Miata, an ND. NO door pocket, or cup holder in door. Console can hold a door remote OR your wallet. Bought a coffee but with a stick shift and cup holder behind my shoulder, I drank it out of the car. No regrets, tho….

    Can confirm i fit a large starbucks coffee in my NC1 door holders. Remembering it's there when opening / closing the door too enthusiastically and spilling coffee all over the sill & seats is another story.

    I'm short so I do fit things behind my seat, like my laptop, jacket, purse, etc. I can get a grocery cart full of groceries to all fit in the trunk, but if I go to Costco then I travel solo incase I need the extra room for bulky items like the big pack of toilet paper. There is a suitcase rack that attaches to the outside of the trunk. I haven't found that I've ever needed it, but it might be nice to have. From someone else's video I bought the cell phone holder you mentioned that suctions to the passenger side and it works great for me, but is kind of uncomfortable/annoying for whenever the passenger's leg rubs up against it. I will consider that magnet holder you're using.

    Since this video is a year old not sure you'll see it but here's my recommendations/techniques on my NC1. If you see this is a notification and can only take away one thing it's this: BUY A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I used to daily my 86 MR2 and had one. There's lots of good easy places to put it, and it did save my ass once. If you never use it? Cool. But you will be happy you have one if you do! Lots of places to securely mount it inside the trunk at the cost of little space.

    Super surprised at how easily the guitar fit! That was one of my issues when deciding on whether a Miata would work for me. On the hunt for an NC currently!

    I had a ND for a year as a daily driver and my only car. Of all the things I carried in it, the only time I couldn't was when I went to IKEA to buy furniture and house stuff. I was able to fit any Costco or grocery run in the trunk alone. The one time I used the passenger seat was when I bought a soundbar and had it sticking out the car. I actually wasn't bothered by the Miata's small storage - except that there was no where to put a phone. I had the Moment M-Case mount since I had a '16 without Android Auto. If I was able to keep that car I think I would've bought a trunk rack for anything extra.

    On the topic of water bottles, a 700ml/24oz smartwater bottle (the one with the flip-top cap) also fits perfectly in the door cards. Their bottles are durable enough to be reused and it's the largest capacity I've found that fits. It isn't insulated, but if you just need a lot of water it's a great option.

    I used a ProClip mount in my AE25. The only issue is that you have to buy it in 2 parts. The base and the actual phone holder. It works great for me.

    Cupholder solution... Moss has a "Large Drink Holder" that secures itself under the floor mat. I use the flat edge of the mat closest to the passenger seat, so it uses none of the leg room for the passenger. Much better than the center console shifter block....

    Where did you get your shift pattern plate or sticker that you have on 12v outlet, is it the one revlimiter makes? Ive wanted one for awhile and also felt that was the best mounting place for it.

  • @vlenhoff
    @vlenhoff Рік тому

    Yup, it is not as bad as people would think, but it is indeed limiting. I have a black NC2 GT similar yours, and coming from a wrx, there is a bit of a shock. Like you, my Miata is my only car now, and I adore it. I still have the original Bose stereo, and my CD changer is broken. There is a phone mount you can insert in the CD slot, and it holds your phone. I want to do a bosectomy later on, but for now, I love my phone mount. It positions the phone conveniently high on the dash. For those who don't use CDs anymore, and have the stock CD unit, this is a great option for a phone mount.
    Also, I have a quick connect powered subwoofer in the trunk, and it fits in that recessed/deep area in the trunk. I got a 12 lb GWR street single exhaust, and took my jack out of the trunk to offset the subwoofer's weight. I can easily disconnect it, but I never do, unless I really need the room for bigger things. It takes a little room, but I enjoy deep full bass roof up or down. I am on coilovers, and that jack won't fit under the car anyway.
    Thanks for the video!

    I have a 2013 GT. I tried the Lamicall Magnetic Car phone holder attached to the small grill just to the left of the glove box as described in this video. The issue: The face of my phone tilts slightly downward when attached to the holder which makes the phone a bit difficult to view. I don’t see a way to adjust the holder to allow the phone to be at least vertical or, preferably, tilted slightly upward. Has anyone had different results with the Lamicall?
    Does the Ciencimy brand magnetic holder offer more adjustment options?
    Thanks

    • @austinewachiw3388
      @austinewachiw3388 Рік тому +1

      I just tested the Ciencimy this morning and I think it has the same issue. Just doens't have enough pivot to face the driver. I noticed that Jordan used the aftermarket magnet on his case, which gave him a different mounting location than the default iPhone mag. Dunno.

      @@austinewachiw3388Thanks for the info on the Ciencimy. I cannot envision a different magnet on the phone case, or different mounting location on the phone case, making a difference on the viewing angling.
