What an amazing story of a man. Alan Bean is not only a hero in my book, but a national treasure! Man, I wish I could afford one of his prints. Now I know what to start saving for!

Met him in London at Autographica, My grandson came with me to meet some james bond actors. Alan bean explained some of the amazing stories from his paintings, On the way home he couldnt stop talking about Alan and has been fascinated by S,T,E,M subjects ever since. A great educator, Artist and communicator. Alans family must be so proud of him, and quite rightly too.

I met Alan at Maui during our art publisher's annual seminar I was the artist to speak to a few hundred gallery owners after his presentation. I was nervous being the new artist with our publisher and at break time, he reassured me about speaking in front of hundreds of folks in the audience At the next year's seminar at Hilton Head, he was on the beach pointing out to a few of us where they had been on the moon. Pretty surreal listening to stories at sunset about walking on the moon! A high point in my artistic career.

this is also my cousin and its from my mothers side. It is from the Scottish side and my uncle Edd Bean had written a family history book for at McBeans or the shortened version of Bean that were the descendants of the McBane clan from Scotland. i have heard stories and met him one time at a family reunion in Maine at Dot's house but was a small kid and have not had the pleasure of talking to since but plan on purchasing his art someday. his story is truly amazing and he is a remarkable man.

I met Al at a convention in Wichita and he is such a wonderful person and a great personality. He's a very interesting personality. Its really nice that there are parts of the moon in his paintings.

Wait, he brought a metal hammer home from space, when he wasn't supposed to?? I would have thought that every bit of weight on board would have been meticulously calculated.
Oh well, he is the same guy who said they didnt go through the Van Allen Belt 😅😂

That was only hammer in the world to produce sound in a vacuum. I'm surprised NASA didn't want to keep that for further study.😎
