Kia builds a true Asian alternative to European luxury-sport brands. We test out the Stinger GT with its twin-turbo V6 to see how it stacks up against the competition.
As an European auto technician, I've seen all the worst from BMW, Audi and VW, Mercedes. So in 2014 I bought a Kia forte koup, 122 k later and I just traded in for the stinger, never had anything go wrong with the koup, only a recall for a cooling fan relay. One of the best 6 speed transmissions I've ever felt, now the stinger has an 8 speed, and is also perfect at any speed. Truly an impressive make, the competition should be worried.
@@aymanlockhartable my car with 100k is still mechanicaly perfect, however the paint peeled off in 3 months. But Kia provided me with a loaner and repainted the car perfectly, still looks great. No regrets. Looking forward to my next Kia.

I love my 2018 Stinger GT2. It has looks, performance and comfort for not a lot of $. Just bought it last week, slightly used with low mileage and, thanks to Kia badge haters, I got a great deal ! As a daily driver it is very comfortable and very reasonable on gas, as long as you don't put it in Sport mode and floor it. I find that the Smart mode is the best for me; it is calmly cruising in high gear on the highway, but quickly responds with lots of power and torque when you need to accelerate to pass, and then returns to its calm behavior once you're done. I'm proud of the Kia brand having produced such a stunning car on their first attempt, even though I think the Kia badge looks awful on this car. I much prefer the Korean round version with the letter "E" which stands for: Engineered by Excellence.
