That is a very good sounding drive pedal with loads of uses, and the wee plus button is a great idea. I think that is the pedal Gregor Hilden uses and he always has nice tone.
It was a nice sound for sure, but you know how I feel about orange pedals, ha! Not heard of him, I'll UA-cam him now. BTW, I filmed some more footage last night in the venue where my camera angle made me look like a midget. I made sure this time to get the best of the camera angle, so I will include a picture especially for you where I'm the tallest in the line-up!
Good Review. Thanks for posting. I've been considering the Greg Hilden version for some time. Your video just pushed me a bit closer to the trigger. Cheers from Down Under.
Good to see you again Ben. I think you can make any pedal sound great with your playing. Fantastic. I agree the okko sounds very close indeed, better pressure your friend for a good deal on that pedal🤓Not sure I have seen you play that guitar. I enjoyed your slide playing of course as always. Have a great day. Thank you. 🤘
Thank you, Tim! No need for me to acquire any new pedals, that Burn Unit does just fine for me. Apart from the one that's in my Fly Rig, I don't own another drive pedal. I sold my Archer last spring and that was the only other one I had. Yes, lovely guitar this one, I don't use it very often here on the channel, but when I run jam nights (house band for two of them this week) this is the house guitar. I've owned it since my early 20's, I wanna say about 23. Cost me 150 quid used I think, or maybe slightly less. I've changed the pickups in it, but other than that it's stock. It's an Ibanez RT240, pretty rare. If you're wondering, you've now seen all my guitars apart from my SG, which I still haven't put back together! It's been in pieces for a few years, but that was my main guitar until I bought the Paul that's in nearly every video. I've had it since I was 21, but when you play slide on an SG, people continually ask if you're copying Derek Trucks and when you're clearly not even in the same freaking ballpark style wise, it gets really frustrating! Ha! I think he's just the 1st person someone can name when it comes to slide players. Anyway I ditched it, but don't want to sell it because I really played the hell out of that guitar. I have plans to bring it back, but it's gunna be ugly when I do! More of a nod to Frank Zappa, is what I'm thinking.
I've used one for many years. I've used it for stacking in different orders, as a lead overdrive, as a bluesy crunch drive, and with different guitars - super versatile and always sounds great. Mine has white knobs.
By the way: the Diablo Gain + is discontinued as well. Its successor is the Diablo Dual, which has a few more options than the Gain +, most notably a second volume knob was added. 😉

I like the little slide song you played for the " Devil at Pelican crossing"
@@timothy5974 Thank you! I went to town on the names for the examples this week, ha!
