@@criranhonestly I also wish that Bode had been willing to trust that Cal would be able to keep Kata safe (even told him the truth before he called the Empire down on their heads,,) but one of the things Star Wars always makes abundantly clear is that Dark Side users are blind to any logical course of action because they’re so consumed by their own fears or ambitions. I do wish that Bode had truly surrendered at the end of the fight, but again: the Dark Side, man. It’s addicting and consuming and clearly leaves no room for rational actions (see: in his attempt to protect Kata, Bode nearly kills her multiple times).
@@circusclown1503 The ENTIRE point of Darth Vader's ultimate story arc is that he does, in the end, return to the Light because of his love for his son, Luke. Vader, the most evil person in the Galaxy next to to the Emperor himself, redeemed. There is absolutely room for redemption in the Force. It happens several times in the EU and Legacy.
@@criran yes that’s true! But theoretically, Bode had just Fallen (or at least finally succumbed fully). Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that newly Fallen Force-sensitives are extremely volatile and blinded by their own ambitions. Anakin strangled his own wife because she didn’t want to rule the Galaxy with him even after Falling to save her and Dagan went about killing Jedi and immediately bled his crystal upon waking up, Ventress slaughtered a whole bunch of raiders etc etc. It took Anakin YEARS after learning about Luke to consider that he could come back, and even then it was almost too late. I really do love when Dark Jedi or Sith come back to the Light (or at least stop being so abhorrently evil) but I believe that it’s a process that requires an individual to face truths that they’d really rather not (for Bode, the reality that Kata would be safe in Tanalorr but she would also be so incredibly lonely. For Dagan, the fact that Khri is disappointed in him for what he’s done).
“You’re not the only one that survived” was such a cold line. I kinda suspected he would betray us but not that he was a fallen Jedi, that reveal was amazing.
Zanny's "WHAAAAT?!" to finding out Bode was a Force user was my exact same reaction. I was spoiled for Bode being the traitor, but wasn't expecting him to use the Force and take out a lightsaber
I absolutely love Cal's horrified "It can't be..." reaction when discovering the Force Tear at the priorite shop Dude's more scared of a frog than Darth Vader (and rightly so!)
Unironically after finishing the game myself this has been the most hyped UA-cam thing for me I remember seeing the use of clanker and the merrin romance and being so happy and also laughing about zannys reaction to it
2:36 Thats a technique called Trakata. It was created by a Jedi Counsular during the Old Republic because he was not a good bladesman (Jedi Consulars are generally more proficient in the force than with a lightsaber, but vice versa for the Jedi Knights). It was not used by the Jedi or the Sith as the former considered it to be dishonourable, and the latter thought that it was based on deception and practicality, instead for passion and fury. Basically, they thought it was for weaklings.
The twist at the end was actually rly well done. I kinda thought Bode was gonna betray us during the game, judging from how he got a little awkward when we started talking about using tanalorr for the hidden path, but what I didn't see coming was this mf being a Jedi, like that shit had me audibly gasping at 2 am
Never saw it coming, but the clues were there… Bode was just comedic relief, but he has shown so many physical capabilities that are only from a Jedi. He couldn’t be just another rebel
Its a statement to how greedy religion can be: the Jedi order regulated their member’s emotions, thats some next level religious big brother shit if you really think about it. The Jedi order may be “good guys”, but they are not good guys. They were always limiting what you could do as a member, i wonder if they didnt do this, would they still exist after episode 3?
@@harrisondarenberg9686 that is why Luke's Jedi order in the old canon succeeded were the old Jedi order failed. (screw the sequels) because it went back to it's roots of the old republic but with a modernised take on it. where the Jedi code was more of a guideline as opposed to being actual rules. (rules that are heavily enforced opens the doors for those enforcing said rules to easily abuse it). the Jedi in Luke's Order where allowed to have lovers and even families, the Jedi of the Clone wars era where massively hypocritical in the sense they where experts of the "exception" AKA "double standards/rules for thee but not for me" they weren't allowed to have lovers but Aalya Seura and Kit Fisto were friends with benefits but they were allowed because it was "casual" and both where Jedi masters so the rules don't apply for some reason. Jedi were not allowed to father/mother children EXCEPT if said Jedi's species was endangered in the case of Ki-adi-Mundi. Jedi were not allowed to partake in ANY study of the Darkside, EXCEPT if you are Mace Windu who actively and publicly studied a Saber form that actively weaponized the darkside and he actively went out of his way to sabotage Anakin out of spite and Jealousy (two traits that actively lead towards the darkside) notice how ever example exempt from the rules was a JEDI MASTER and Anakin seemed to always be on the receiving end of their double standard and twitch level of rule enforcement. you have to be a Jedi master to train Padawan learners because it causes a great deal amount of stress EXCEPT if you are Anakin Skywalker. You have to be a Jedi Master to be on the Jedi council EXCEPT if you are Anakin Skywalker. you can let irresponsible hypocrites like Secura and Fisto be sharing bedsheets EXCEPT if you are Anakin Skywalker and Padme the Jedi of the Clone wars Era where blatant hypocrites in every sense of the word, truth be told Anakin was doomed from the start and if i'm being honest the Jedi of that era deserved to be purged and the order rebooted and started from scratch. such a shame that Disney ensured that will never happen and that it's destined to simply repeat the same mistakes with "maReysue Skyidentiyitytheftwalker" at the helm.
It’s like a huge ironic joke that Anakin lost everything and caused the obliteration of the Jedi order, but almost every major Jedi eventually ended up forging important emotional bonds with others, brotherhood, parenthood, apprenticeship etc
Really? Weird, cause I thought almost immediately that "Oh, this dude is so gonna betray us" lol maybe I've just seen that kind of plot twist so often that i was kind of expecting it.... idk? but something about him almost immediately seemed....off and when he talked about his daughter i just figured at some point in the story he'd betray us because the Empire had her hostage or he thought it would "protect" her somehow? I certainly wasn't expecting him to have been a former Jedi however......THAT plot twist did surprise the shit out of me, even though it feels like it came out of left field because looking back NOTHING foreshadowed such a massive reveal earlier in the story it definitely made his betrayal of Cal, Cere, and especially poor Cordova all the worse and more impactful though....
I think my suspicions were founded the minute I fought with Bode in the beginnign of the game, when after our first fight together against the empire he said "... when you play with me the game is rigged from the start" So I said, "ok he has a daughter and now he said that line, they have his daughter, he will betray us." So from step one I was like "He's a betrayer!" but "He was a Jedi!" and shooting Cordova was never on my radar at all and was the only legitimate twist in the game, aside from a certain ability Cal gets after in the Imperial Base.
@@General_Kenobi_212 Oh and it was foreshadowed when Bode did not return "And with you." when Cal said "May the force be with you." it looked like he physically stopped himself from saying that since it was so ingrained as a Jedi.
First 2 thirds of this game I was thinking the whole time “meh it’s okay. I liked fallen order better” but then that third act hits and it very quickly became one of my favorite games of the last few years
Lmfao. “You’re literally me” I just 100 % and it was fantastic. After re watching the old fallen order videos I was hoping he’d milk tf out of this game for more content
While the Bode twist catching Zanny off guard was great, I just love how convenient it was to justify Zanny to scream traitor. Puts the Kylo Ren impersonation to full circle.
2:36 For those wondering how turning of the Lightsaber whilst swinging is “illegal” it’s because it was banned by both the Jedi & Sith for being too aggressive (Jedi reason) and for showing weakness (Sith reason)
i feel like every time someone says some version of this they're making it up, and if it actually is an established in universe explanation then it's just as stupid the only actual explanation that makes any sense is that turning off your lightsaber in a fight, specifically against another lightsaber user, is retarded 8 ways to sunday i mean seriously, you're literally disarming yourself, real big brain move and on top of that, since it's so inconsistent how long it takes the lightsaber to turn off and on again, it makes it's viability as a combat tactic just as stupid
@@noraye2500 they could just simply say it's an incredibly risky move to try in a fight here one wrong move could mean life or death. truth be told Jedi like Luke,Ashoka and Cal seem to be the only Jedi that understood the effectiveness of Blasters and the use of a secondary short saber.

First time to see zanny so shocked he only put a to be continued sign instead of the usual outro of his vids. Hehehe can't wait to see zanny's reaction to the darkside
I have such mixed feelings on bode. I could tell from the end of the coruscant level he was either going to betray cal or die, so I wasn’t really impressed with the betrayal itself, but the reveal of him being a Jedi was perfect
it's way better than other crossguard designs that's for sure..... i still think the whole design in general is stupid as you could easily stab yourself with the "guards" but this is a much better executed version of one than say Kylo Ren's and it's still way better than the inquisitors spinning discus lightsaber lol
All the Bode twists are so damn good. This game was already pretty good up until then but from the 3rd act onwards it just goes into overdrive. Twists upon surprises upon more twists upon tears.
2:36 the technique of turning off and on your lightsaber is frowned upon by the Jedi because it’s dirty, and the Sith also frown on it because it’s cowardly
just sounds like a terrible justification for why no Saber wielder had ever tried it before a way more simply explanation could just be that both Jedi and Sith warn against it because it's such a risky move that could go either way and it requires more luck than skill to pull off effectively. no we suddenly see nearly every saber user pulling this trick because everyone has caught on to it.

Ive rewatched this so many times and I'm always thrilled with how speechless he is with Bode's reveal
He was the jedi survivor lol
@16:37 Zanny: *that’s not how the Force works*
I absolutely love Cal's horrified "It can't be..." reaction when discovering the Force Tear at the priorite shop
Dude's more scared of a frog than Darth Vader (and rightly so!)
Unironically after finishing the game myself this has been the most hyped UA-cam thing for me I remember seeing the use of clanker and the merrin romance and being so happy and also laughing about zannys reaction to it
Honestly it was the same for me after finishing the game, as well as the surprise reveal that happens soon that I hope hasn't been spoiled for zanny
Jedi went like it’s a sith move the sith went like you use that you’s a female dog
Real
Here lies a scholar.
Same, same, while you do anticipate some stuff from him (or from Dagan when he woke up) you never anticipate that much
@@sebasmana5798 his first entrance revealing himself was literally shooting a Trooper in the back. That is how well they played with us ;)
It's amazing how many jedi ended up finding loving healthy relationships after the Order was destroyed.
Emperor Palpatine: the Ultimate Wingman
Tbh, it's either that or becoming like Obi-Wan and Yoda
(rules that are heavily enforced opens the doors for those enforcing said rules to easily abuse it).
the Jedi in Luke's Order where allowed to have lovers and even families, the Jedi of the Clone wars era where massively hypocritical in the sense they where experts of the "exception" AKA "double standards/rules for thee but not for me"
they weren't allowed to have lovers but Aalya Seura and Kit Fisto were friends with benefits but they were allowed because it was "casual" and both where Jedi masters so the rules don't apply for some reason.
Jedi were not allowed to father/mother children EXCEPT if said Jedi's species was endangered in the case of Ki-adi-Mundi. Jedi were not allowed to partake in ANY study of the Darkside, EXCEPT if you are Mace Windu who actively and publicly studied a Saber form that actively weaponized the darkside and he actively went out of his way to sabotage Anakin out of spite and Jealousy (two traits that actively lead towards the darkside) notice how ever example exempt from the rules was a JEDI MASTER and Anakin seemed to always be on the receiving end of their double standard and twitch level of rule enforcement.
you have to be a Jedi master to train Padawan learners because it causes a great deal amount of stress EXCEPT
if you are Anakin Skywalker. You have to be a Jedi Master to be on the Jedi council EXCEPT if you are Anakin Skywalker.
you can let irresponsible hypocrites like Secura and Fisto be sharing bedsheets EXCEPT if you are Anakin Skywalker and Padme
the Jedi of the Clone wars Era where blatant hypocrites in every sense of the word, truth be told Anakin was doomed from the start and if i'm being honest the Jedi of that era deserved to be purged and the order rebooted and started from scratch. such a shame that Disney ensured that will never happen and that it's destined to simply repeat the same mistakes with "maReysue Skyidentiyitytheftwalker" at the helm.
It’s like a huge ironic joke that Anakin lost everything and caused the obliteration of the Jedi order, but almost every major Jedi eventually ended up forging important emotional bonds with others, brotherhood, parenthood, apprenticeship etc

The pure fear and panic at 8:15, I love it
Literally everyone doing that Force tear 😭😭
honestly, I think they did Bode's betrayal so perfectly. When I played the story myself, I DID NOT expect it at all. Well fucking done.
Really? Weird, cause I thought almost immediately that "Oh, this dude is so gonna betray us" lol
maybe I've just seen that kind of plot twist so often that i was kind of expecting it.... idk? but something about him almost immediately seemed....off
and when he talked about his daughter i just figured at some point in the story he'd betray us because the Empire had her hostage or he thought it would "protect" her somehow?
I certainly wasn't expecting him to have been a former Jedi however......THAT plot twist did surprise the shit out of me, even though it feels like it came out of left field because looking back NOTHING foreshadowed such a massive reveal earlier in the story
it definitely made his betrayal of Cal, Cere, and especially poor Cordova all the worse and more impactful though....
I didn’t see any of that coming but I can see how some might’ve seen the betrayal. The Jedi part however... slow claps all around.
Bode fucked with my emotions man. At first I hated him then loved the guy then I got shocked.
I think my suspicions were founded the minute I fought with Bode in the beginnign of the game, when after our first fight together against the empire he said "... when you play with me the game is rigged from the start"
So I said, "ok he has a daughter and now he said that line, they have his daughter, he will betray us."
So from step one I was like "He's a betrayer!" but "He was a Jedi!" and shooting Cordova was never on my radar at all and was the only legitimate twist in the game, aside from a certain ability Cal gets after in the Imperial Base.
@@General_Kenobi_212 Oh and it was foreshadowed when Bode did not return "And with you." when Cal said "May the force be with you." it looked like he physically stopped himself from saying that since it was so ingrained as a Jedi.
8:15 - true panicc

It’s called selective editing lmao
First 2 thirds of this game I was thinking the whole time “meh it’s okay. I liked fallen order better” but then that third act hits and it very quickly became one of my favorite games of the last few years
Zanny also perfectly articulates why I didn’t buy a house back when they were affordable. “I was 8.”
I wasnt expecting the betrayal at all. He was one of my favorite characters and i was shaking so much seeing it happen.
I still find it funny how everyone had the same reaction to merrin and cal finally getting together
Cal is definitely in the top tier list of Jedi solely because he's cool enough to use a blaster with his lightsaber

13:11 I was hoping for a goodbye k-hug too
“Your not the only one who survived” gives me chills every time I hear it
While the Bode twist catching Zanny off guard was great, I just love how convenient it was to justify Zanny to scream traitor.

Sith: "This is some pussy shit."

i feel like every time someone says some version of this they're making it up, and if it actually is an established in universe explanation then it's just as stupid
the only actual explanation that makes any sense is that turning off your lightsaber in a fight, specifically against another lightsaber user, is retarded 8 ways to sunday
i mean seriously, you're literally disarming yourself, real big brain move
and on top of that, since it's so inconsistent how long it takes the lightsaber to turn off and on again, it makes it's viability as a combat tactic just as stupid
