- In episode 60 of Whisky in SV, I did a blind tasting of 3 tatered 10 year bourbons: the newly released Old Forester 1924 10 Year versus the venerable Michter's 10 Year Bourbon barrel "A" from 2023, versus the Jack Daniels 10 Year Batch 2. My main conclusion was that, at least for me, the Old Forester 1924 is very close in profile to the Michter's 10 Bourbon and frankly a better alternative for it because it is comparatively much more available and well priced. Also, I am hoping that since the 1924 is a batched product, it should not suffer from the same inconsistency issues that single barrel products like Michter's 10 Bourbon do. Lastly, the Jack Daniels 10 Year, while a competent bourbon was not in the same league as the other two whiskies for me. #whiskyinsv • #WhiskyInSV 060: Is Ol...

Nice comparisons and reviews. Like all 3 of these. Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon was my favorite of 2023. Old Forester 1924 is very good. It would be better if $80-$90. 🥃

Can't find a Michter's 10-yr to save my life, and can't find the JD 10-yr for less than $500 (which is INSANE) but chanced upon the OF 1924 when it was first released and REALLY like it. I know a lot of reviewers gave 1924 a lukewarm reception, but like you, I really like it and will be nursing that bottle for a while.
Yeah Michter's is hard to find unfortunately. Probably worth trying it at a bar (I hear Vesper in Campbell has great prices). I am glad you also enjoy 1924! cheers 🥃
