The Dyson by far has been man's gift to the curls. The cost is very prohibitive, but I chunked it up to being an investment in my mental health. Ain't no one tryna walk around with wet hair all day. I def got my monies worth when I calculate cost per use. I use it every single week and it has not failed me yet! Great video as always.
Hey friend! Just for clarification - lower watts = more energy conservation … which is why Dyson/Shark (more expensive) were in the “bottom” because they are conserving more energy and using less electricity. For example, ppl now use “LED” light bulbs because the Watts is wayyyyyy less than traditional light bulbs without affecting its brightness. It can be misleading to think that just because the watts are higher the product is better 😬 everything else was very informative though ☺️
I am a hairstylist and I have the curlsmith dryer and I love it over the dyson for curly, coily and wavy hair. The Dyson is great for other styling. Thank you Biance this was a great video.
Can you help me please. I need a lightweight and not noisy hairdryer and my hairdresser has the Gama one. I don't know which one between the Gama, the Curlsmith or the Bellissima too. Did you ever try the Gama ? Thanks
I know you commented a year ago but do you have any recommendations for hair dryers that cause the least amount of damage? I straighten my 3b curls but it’s hard to avoid breakage and dryness even with styling products. I’m in need of any tips you may have. I love a good blowout every other week
@@Sailorsweetpeach I hope you find out ! Let me know please. I am still on the hunt for a hairdryer too...Gama Professional IQ Perfetto Dryer or Forte Pro Hair Dryer ... I know it's expensive, is it worth the money ? I am so lost but I want one so bad that is light weight, less noise, with a diffuser, and that does cause the least amount of damage!
Thank you for this! Hearing that they all have relatively similar drying times, I’m super happy that I went with the Pattern Beauty blow dryer. It’s safe for my curls & I’m supporting a black owned brand!
The wattage doesn’t really say much about the power of the motor but how much electricity it uses!! So the lower wattage ones are probably just most efficient. Especially seeing as the Dyson seemed to be one of the lower wattage ones, I bet it’s just got a more efficient motor that doesn’t need to draw as much power. Kinda like how LED bulbs are more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs but that doesn’t mean they can’t output more light! I wish we could get some info about like RPM’s of the motors or something like that to measure which one is more powerful and can generate the most air/heat etc lol.
Best video I have seen with actual information I look for in a blow dryer!!! Maybe it helped that you asked everyone what they wanted to know and you delivered!!! I love that you were not biased to just one in particular. It was a lot of information for multiple hairdryers, thank you for helping us decide! 🤗♥️ Also, I’ve had Revlon multiple times and they never disappoint, I only steer away when I want to treat myself and be bougie but let’s be honest they get the job done! Revlon stays in the same price range and gives you what you need…hot/cold,two to three settings, cool shot button, the diffuser and the concentration nozzle. I have always gone to the same one it’s grey and black I believe it is for volume and shine. You will not regret buying one.
Great video My young family member visited from out of town. She has long long thick curls. She loved my Curlsmith dryer so I gave it to her. Ordered a new one with the Ulta Memorial Day 20% coupon. It came yesterday. It has been revamped The handle is much smaller, lighter and very easy to hold. Own the Dyson but this new iteration of Curlsmith is amazing. Highly recommend it. Ulta occasionally gives 20% coupons if you get their emails.
Waw, this was super helpful! I was eyeballing the Curlsmith one, but never hear a lot about it round here. Like you say, it's personal choice, for me it will be the bowl, the safe air flow, the stand item and placement of the buttons that will do it.
I don't diffuse very often, but I have a cheap little Revlon one. It does the job and it's nice to know it competes well with the fancy expensive ones! Thank you for the comparison video!
Thanks for the work that went into this video. Really great to have each model being discussed right in front of you. I went from a basic Revlon to the Curlsmith a few weeks after it was released. It was love 💚💚💚💚💚 from day one. I have long, thick curls and the size of the diffuser is wonderful. Also love that it is not too noisy; can still rock out while drying. I tend to be frugal and it is worth every penny paid.
I love my Dyson but one thing I’d love to know is the long term effects on your hair from each one. Dyson’s technology has always been impressive for me. Manes by Mel did a whole video on it. I think that’s something to keep in mind when buying any blow dryer. Yes price is important BUT long term effect on your hair is more
I have the flex style and I LOVE it!!! I love that it has a no heat setting (it also remembers your previous settings). I like switching my hair up and blowing it out every few months but I don’t flat iron my hair. I use the oval brush on the flex style and it does a great job! And there are so many other attachments! And I love the depth of the shark diffuser and how long the prongs get. That was one of the selling points since I feel like the dyson-esque bowls are too shallow and the prongs are too short.
Great video! I’m trying to decide between the Pattern and the Curlsmith and this video has been informative, but not the tie breaker I was looking for 😂
Excellent work and very through! I’m glad you mentioned how heavy the Curlsmith diffuser is. They make a 6 inch one that looks more my style. Exceptional researched video.
What I took from this is the Curlsmith one is the best! Happy coz that’s the one I bought 😅 thank you for all your hard work Bianca 😊, I know it must have taken a few hours to research and test ❤❤❤ Standout features - doesn’t burn hair - love and trust the curlsmith brand - has the stand
Love this! My 1st diffuser was the revlon one- I hate it. I felt like it would take forever & I hated that I had to keep pressing the cool shot. Nxt I got the Dyson (bday present from my hubby😍😍) I love my Dyson! *Tip: if u want to use just the cool shot (only) u can keep pressing the heat seating til there is no lights on & that’s the cool shot! I love my Dyson!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS VIDEO!! The level of research and detail... wow! Just WOW!!! Amazing work, Bianca! Especially because it's quite a long video and I can only imagine how challenging it must have been to shoot it with a toddler and a baby in the house. It's a pity we cannot get all of these diffusers here in Europe. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the Curlsmith, I just love the size of the diffuser!
Great video! I have the Curlsmith one and I love it! My hair is pretty thick and it dries my hair in about 35-40mins (I am heavy handed with applying products) so I would say that’s pretty good dry time!
Possibly the best hair video ever! Well-researched, a fabulous selection of products to compare, and so darn entertaining, haha! **Subscribed** This was SO helpful!! I'll confess that for all of the beneficial features of a given product, I really am drawn to the pretty designs, particularly the Prussian blue Dyson and beautiful peachy brown Pattern dryer 😍 You've helped me to look past that and consider a number of other factors I often tend to forget or can't easily find out without purchasing! Between noise level, diffuser size, buttons and cord length, it's looking like the Curlsmith will be my jam. Thank you!!
I love my Dyson and Pattern diffusers , I reach for the Pattern dryer more because of the attachment that wide tooth attachment that looks like a pick , my hair dries in 10-15 min just as my dyson but my roots be reaching to the curl gods when I use Pattern I LOVE it . I KNOOOOW I dont NEEEED it but I want the curl smith one to add to my little collection lol
Bianca, girl, first, let me thank you for doing such a full comprehensive video on all of these hair dryers!!👏🏽👏🏽 I definitely appreciate it!! I know that took a lot of work. And some of the ones you reviewed were actually on my list to buy/try. I have the Shark FlexStyle and I love it! The price for the FlexStlyer is tolerable considering all the hair tools you get with it and plus, Idk how to curl my hair with a curling iron so the airwrap feature helps me out on my blowout days. I do need a backup blow dryer just in case and after watching this, I think I may get that $25 Revlon! Thanks for your insight and research, babe!!😘😘
I love this comparison video! I have the deva dryer. That was my go to for years, then I upgraded to the dyson. I want to get the curl smith dryer because of the big diffuser.
My cheap 20 dollar one from Walmart has been holding is down for the last 10 years. I do think my curls would look even more amazing if I got a new one though.
Thank you for making this video, very informative. I have a Revlon diffuser, it gets the job done. I may get the Curlsmith as my next dryer. Thank you again for all your hard work.😊
I ❤❤❤ my Curlsmith one! I have the Dyson one and I like to use it too for quick drying from very wet hair and no time to air dry. But my go to most of the time is CurlSmith
I need to see a half head pattern vs curlsmith because I am honestly so torn between those two even after going back and watching each of their videos on your channel. 😅
This was a super interesting video thanks Bianca! I have one that isn't mentioned, the Phillips 5000 and has so many pro's including a long cord, 20% faster drying time, ion technology and thermoshield technology to protect against heat damage. It is also super light. I bought it almost a year ago and I love it!
Thank you for all the work you put into this video. It was very informative and helpful. 💜💜💜💜 I'm totally ordering the Revlon dryer until I'm able to be bougie enough to afford the Dyson! 😂😂😂
This was super interesting! I have the curlsmith and I want to love it but I always reach for my bed head diffuser that I got an amazon for just $24.99. Best results in the shortest amount of time!
Thanks for all the research and hard work that went into this comparison video! I enjoyed your thoroughness! I currently have a Conair Infiniti Pro that I like a lot. I also have a smaller travel size Chi. I like them both. I think the Pattern is intriguing because it’s Black owned, but I didn’t get a compelling reason to invest more money from the results of your comparison. I think I’ll stick with what I have! Thanks again!!
Have the Dyson (old faithful), have T3 but the diffuser kept breaking off, $30 to replace the broken plastic piece. Just ordered the Curlsmith for the large bowl and happy to hear that the cool shot stays on🎉 got that one for $24 after cashing in my Ulta points and 20% off ❤ Now I want to buy Revlon just because 😂
SUPER HELPFUL!! Thank you for doing what I couldn't! Great research. Would be cool to see how curly folks with shorter hair felt about some of the dryers you reviewed regarding button positioning. Shorter hair changes where your hand and head are positioned when your hair is shorter than shoulder length, but you still diffuse.
Not sure if this is helpful but I have just-above-shoulder-length hair and the $25-30 Conair I have with all the buttons on front are still what I prefer. The cool shot is right at my thumb (or index finger depending on how it's positioned) so I don't mind terribly that I have to hold it down when in use :) ...One thing I will miss though if I ever upgrade is the retractable cord!
I just bought Tymo’s new airhype and it is awesome I love it. Similar to the dyson without the high price ($199) diffuser is similar to the shark where it has the adjustable prongs I love how powerful it is but yet still quiet jz like the dyson. My favorite feature is the cool shot room temp setting which gets nice and cool. I have even used it to fan myself on hot days when doing my hair.
I am really interested in theTYMO so I’m glad to see your comment. How is the weight of it? I just ordered the shark and it is really heavy so I am probably going to send it back. @lyrika
I love your dedication to making sure we have all the info we need for healthy curls. This video took a LOT of work and research, and you DID that thang! 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 I have the Dyson, bc while I'm frugal, there are certain things that are just worth it. However, If I had this video at the time, I may have gone for the Pattern dryer, possibly the curlsmith one (didn't exist yet at the time), however I don't really love the giant bowl (it looks bigger than my actual head 😂). I had the Revlon until I got the dyson (your affordable recommendation back in the day), and it worked well, but the dyson is definitely a faster dry and helps when I have to get my hair diffused at a late hour. I get nervous traveling with my dyson though (i dont want to break it), so I pull out the Revlon or my traveling diffuser attachment bc I know I can replace those more easily if something happens to them.
This was so helpful Bianca. Thank you for taking the time to do this comparison. I like the attachments that come with the Pattern Beauty blow dryer. I also like Curlsmith’s large diffuser.
Holy crap. This video is AMAZING. I am wondering if you have tried the Curlsmith TRAVEL, the BaByliss, Diffon, Laifen, L'Ange, GHD, or T3, as they are recommended a LOT and I would love this same amount of info on them! Everything you compared was a concern for me, but especially including what you mentioned in the last few minutes about the Ion maintaining the heat settings-the Dysons, I've heard, do NOT do this and it is really annoying to turn off your dryer to grab a tool or product and then have to reset everything... ugh. You did an amazing job and even though I'm just a 2B wavy girl, I'm subscribing now!!!
It was the day before the Sephora sale I was about to lose my mind and buy the Dyson (and cry that the Pattern blow dryer wasn’t at Sephora yet cuz I get 20%) when I was walking thru Costco and saw the Shark Hyperair at the best price I’d ever seen it 🙏🏼 and that’s now Costco made my diffuser decision for me 🤣 Costco technically makes all my adult decisions for me
The watts on a blowdryer indicates how fast it can dry your hair not how strong the flow is but how powerful it is. As a professional hairstylist we need over 1800 watts. When I first starting doing hair I was using one that was under 1800 and it took forever to do someones blow out lol
So excited by this video, I have a dyson based on your review plus I love the pink! Now I want the curlsmith for the largest diffuser and highest wattage
Thank you so much for your time spent on putting together this excellent video. My blow dryer is pretty old and I have forgotten the brand name. I haven’t used it since I stopped relaxing my hair over 4 years ago. I am in the market for a new blow dryer and this video has definitely helped. Thank you again!
Thank you for this! I just bought the Dyson! My stylist used it and I fell in love with it! Big upgrade from my revlon! I should’ve known curl smith and pattern had blow dryers! Oh well! I’m sure I’ll get my money’s worth with the Dyson!
I stopped using devacurl products because they were running my hair but I will say that hand diffuser is a life saver for me (I don't have their dryer just the diffuser attachment). It gives great volume at the roots and it's the only thing that will actually dry them. It cuts down hours on my drying time. I use a regular diffuser first and then switch to the deva one ❤❤❤
Love my current blowdryer, but I have a silicone diffuser attachment and it pops off from time to time and I lost the other attachments over time😅 Potentially looking for an affordable replacement soon so this video was super helpful!
If you travel a lot, dyson is out because it doesn’t work internationally, even with a current converter. If you look at the specs, most major brands have 120-240V and all you need is an outlet adapter, but Dyson makes specific versions for America at 120V and for rest of the world at 240V. Learned this the hard way in Europe last year, and carried it around for no reason.
Omg literally yesterday I went to ulta, Sephora and cosmoprof trying to find the perfect one. I couldn’t decide and it was because the universe was telling me to wait a day because this video was dropping!!
I’ve had the Deva dryer for several years and the dryer itself is pretty strong. The hand shaped diffuser was definitely innovative at the time but it’s super limiting when it comes to drying time and the way you can actually use the dryer. I’m hoping to upgrade to the pattern dryer at some point but unfortunately ms tracee didn’t opt to sell it in Canadian Sephora😢
I love my Dyson. It’s not bulky. It gets my hair dry in less than 10 minutes. The heat setting and air flow buttons work independently and you can turn off the heat instead of using the cool shot. I was afraid to get the Pattern because of the terrible experience I had with the hair products.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I found out that the Shark HyperAIR was on sale for $159 yesterday so I finally bit the bullet and purchased. So excited to try it out!!! Still hopeful to own the Dyson one day. Just can’t pay that price tag!
Great video! If you want to off load one of them, I can swing by...I'm in L.A I'll just add that stylists are often the target audience for durability, energy efficiency and performance. They are using these dryers all day everyday. That's why I'm never in a rush to buy rhe more expensive ones. I am curious about Pattern's dryer rhough.
I wish you would have done a dry time test with the 3 you thought are comparable, but otherwise this video was really helpful! I can't bring myself to get the Dyson after missing all the sales/coupons so I think I'll go for the Curlsmith.
Wow, you did your research! Thanks for all your hard work on this video! And I think I know my next blow dryer by this video and your comments, Curlsmith!
I got sold on the Curlsmith hairdryer from your video and then discovered that where I live it is $100 more than the Shark. So now I’m on round two of watching your video 😆.
Consumer reports did a review in a similar way. They agreed that they mostly all have the same dry time. Dyson was not the top just due to price, but in their cheaper options they had Conair Pro Yellow Bird which I have, but I got a different diffuser for it.
Hey curl friends, I am literally on the market for a new dryer. Spent my Saturday night watching videos. This new video came out just in time. I was thinking of getting the Ion Luxe and after this video I still am. I think the Dyson is way to expensive. I think the Curlsmith would be to huge for me to handle. Thank you so much Bianca, this was great, as always very informative.
I have an old Hana Air with a Sally Universal Diffuser and it’s a bit heavy but I only use my diffuser for my ends after sitting under my hooded dryer.
I have the revlon blow dryer and diffuser. I’m am so happy to hear its one of the best budget ones 😁 as much as i would LOVE a dyson that is almost a months worth of groceries for me. So that was a hard pass.
I have the Dyson only because it's the only good quality diffuser available in Australia. We don't have access to buy any of the others. I especially wanted the Curlsmith dryer because I love their products but they haven't allowed Aussie distributors to stock their dryers
Light weight , no heat damage, easy to use , gives shiny healthy hair , do the job in the right time and good quality last for years or forever, the price. This the things I look for from the most important to me to the least Thank you 🤎 so much for the review and the information about curly hair God bless you 😊
Ok. I need to stop this video, cook breakfast and watch this on the big TV downstairs. 🍿
🙏
Pray for Paul

I 100% agree with you, it’s so fast!!
Is TYMO a good dupe for Dyson?
On what hair curl pattern

I am tired of these companies adding attachments and changing the name of the dryers. Why not make one dryer and pay for the newest attachments?
I love this comparison video!
I have the deva dryer. That was my go to for years, then I upgraded to the dyson. I want to get the curl smith dryer because of the big diffuser.
The time you out in to this video for us, THANK YOU ❤

I can always count on you to help me make my curly girl purchases! I agree it takes forever for the DevaCurl to dryer you let hair.
Curlsmith for diffuser size and the kickstand/hands-free option.
You really make me want to get either the Pattern or the Curlsmith ones.
Thank you for all the work you put into this video. It was very informative and helpful. 💜💜💜💜
I'm totally ordering the Revlon dryer until I'm able to be bougie enough to afford the Dyson! 😂😂😂

Shorter hair changes where your hand and head are positioned when your hair is shorter than shoulder length, but you still diffuse.
Not sure if this is helpful but I have just-above-shoulder-length hair and the $25-30 Conair I have with all the buttons on front are still what I prefer. The cool shot is right at my thumb (or index finger depending on how it's positioned) so I don't mind terribly that I have to hold it down when in use :)
...One thing I will miss though if I ever upgrade is the retractable cord!
I love my Tymo professional dryer. It has 4 Temps and 3 speeds, digital screen, dedicated cool on/off and is compact good for travel.
@lyrika
It’s the curl smith for me ❤
I am leaning towards the Pattern one
I love your dedication to making sure we have all the info we need for healthy curls. This video took a LOT of work and research, and you DID that thang! 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
I have the Dyson, bc while I'm frugal, there are certain things that are just worth it.
I like the green hand diffuser!
Thank you! Thanks for the energy and time invested. Very helpful!
I just got the TYMO Air Lyte it’s a Dyson dupe. The tymo diffuser attachment is till on the way.
YAAAAS.. Been waiting on this one 😊... Thank you!!!
Which of all these hair dryers give you the most volume, definition. How does your hair looks like after drying with each one???
I just knew the laifen would be included. This review is gold
Love this video, thanks for the research and review. Still torn between choosing the Pattern, Curlsmith, and Shark flex one😭
I haven’t ever tried diffusing yet as I don’t have a hair dryer but I might have to get one of these.
I'm trying to find a good blow dryer for international travel, so I feel your pain! So few reviews on inexpensive dual voltage dryers.
Thank you that was very informative. And you did a great job ,not to mention the time it took you to give us all that information.
The Dyson I have my eye on is the new Air Straight 😍
I love my Dyson. It’s not bulky. It gets my hair dry in less than 10 minutes. The heat setting and air flow buttons work independently and you can turn off the heat instead of using the cool shot. I was afraid to get the Pattern because of the terrible experience I had with the hair products.
Thank you so much for this video!!!
I found out that the Shark HyperAIR was on sale for $159 yesterday so I finally bit the bullet and purchased. So excited to try it out!!! Still hopeful to own the Dyson one day. Just can’t pay that price tag!
Thanks for the informative video. Question: what do you use when traveling and does the collapsible diffuser fit?
Great video! If you want to off load one of them, I can swing by...I'm in L.A I'll just add that stylists are often the target audience for durability, energy efficiency and performance. They are using these dryers all day everyday. That's why I'm never in a rush to buy rhe more expensive ones. I am curious about Pattern's dryer rhough.
But which one is YOUR favorite?
I would love to see you review the Wavytalk hair dryer.
Finally! I have been waiting for this video! I've given up thinking I'd get the Dyson but didn't know where else to turn 😢
thank you for this video
Bianca!! ❤️❤️❤️been wanting a video on this topic
I wish you would have done a dry time test with the 3 you thought are comparable, but otherwise this video was really helpful! I can't bring myself to get the Dyson after missing all the sales/coupons so I think I'll go for the Curlsmith.
The shark air also remembers your setting based on what you used last
Wow, you did your research!
I just bought the revair and I honestly would like to see your review!
I was close to getting the Dyson but got the shark flexstyler I like the versatility and how much it allows me to do while also being a good diffuser
I really enjoyed this video and your makeup looks amazing 🥰
I have the revlon blow dryer and diffuser. I’m am so happy to hear its one of the best budget ones 😁 as much as i would LOVE a dyson that is almost a months worth of groceries for me. So that was a hard pass.
I wish Wavytalk was in this video as well I’m trying to decide between that one & the Revlon for my son
HUGELY helpful video… thank you!
I LOVED this video! Thank you! So helpful!!!
Very insightful well executed video! thank you!!!
This the things I look for from the most important to me to the least
Thank you 🤎 so much for the review and the information about curly hair
God bless you 😊
Which one is that
Which one please ?
I’ve been waiting for this video!!
This was great info!!
Flex style has a no heat option! If you press the temp button there’s one light, two lights, three lights, and no lights! It’s my favorite!
