- In this video, I look at some of the most common ways to improve the performance of FSX, to get the simulator running the best it can on your computer whilst keeping the graphics looking sharp!

Thanks for the tutorial. It really helped me a lot.

running fsx with pmdg + taxi2gate =10/9 avg fps
dies inside
Muchos gracias. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
Hi Doofer
Thanks for this marvels video. That you showed I did not know anything about thanks :)
Hello from Brazil, your tutorials quality is immense. Thanks a lot. Sorry for my engilsh....

then i open fsx cfg file again i see the setting not save max4096 not save
Thanks for the video
Hey doofer
Would like to mention that your videos are excellent.
You are a great educator and you have some really great tips. I'm new to UA-cam but I hope to make videos like you.

Connor Palmer Hey Connor, thanks for the very kind comment! I'd recommend checking out the UA-cam Creator Playbook, that's got some very good tips and guides for creating videos! That's what I used to get started.
A quicker way to go to the appdata folder in windows (without even having to show the hidden folders) is to just type
%appdata%
in the searchbar and open the folder called "roaming"
If i use the AffinityMask why the game is always stuttering?
THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG
I have MS Flight Simulator X and whenever I go to External View all I see is a propeller, not the entire Airplane. Please help!!! What do I do to fix?
i live in nyc. whenever I run it in nyc, I get 9 to 12 fps
I get 20-30 fps but however I get weird fps stutters which make flying impossible especially at landinf
Have you contacted the Developer to see if they can offer any advice?
If ur still on FSX, insert this line into your FSX.cfg:
[Bufferpools]
Poolsize=*****
* = poolsize until SSD ram is used. I recommend a setting of 10000000 (10 million). However it's up to you; you're poolsize can equal from 1-25000000. I recommend experimenting by 1 000 000 + each time
I have no 'BUFFERPOOLS' line in my 'cfg' file. Where do you recommend I add it in?
+Ever Onward I think it's safe to add it in anywhere in the CFG file, just remember to put the BUFFERPOOLS in square brackets and you should be ok. I think when I did it I just put it in at the top.
Another very informative and well presented tutorial.
1. I am terrified to change such things as I would not be able to fix it if, as you say, things went tits up. However, I noticed a procedure some years ago which I think would be idiot proof. Copy the fsx.cfg file and save it as fsx.old. I believe the program would ignore this file. Change the fsx.cfg file as you suggest and if a problem arises you can cancel the new fsx.cfg file and rename the fsx.old file back to fsx.cfg again and the program should run as before. OK?
2. I am shortly investing in a new bespoke computer and would like the graphics card to look as good as yours. Any advice?
+interdave999 1. Yep that will absolutely work fine, changing "fsx.cfg" to "fsx.old"
2. I could write a book about choosing a graphics card! haha, It depends on a lot of things, your budget, what you want to do with the computer, what resolution you want to play the game at..... there's a lot to consider. Surprisingly, FSX isn't that hard on the graphics card, it really hammers the CPU to run the program. I personally have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780Ti which is quite a powerful card but I play a lot of games, my computer is powerful on purpose so I can record and edit videos. I'm also hoping to learn how to do 3D modelling at some point as well.
I think any of the current generation graphics cards will do the job. Even the lower performance models will handle modern games at 1080p resolution and keep the frame rate over 30fps. And those start at about £150/$230/€210
+Doofer911 Thanks. I'll check that out.
Can the " technical part" affect your pc performance or display?
Nope, only the performance of the game.
my fsx.CFG file dosen't appear as a text file instead it is a CFG so what should I do to have access so I can tweak?
Right Click, Select "Open With" then choose notepad
Thank you so much! :D
Idk why but on my laptop I get 55fps on max settings and its 3 years old
Even on modern hardware, FSX is still tough to run well because it was designed in an era of 32 bit operating systems and single core processors. It can't take full advantage of 64bit and multi-core processing.
Whats at tweak?
Your running flight simulator X SP2 ?
+Antonio Chaveiro I was when I recorded this video but I've moved over to FSX: Steam Edition now.
I just tried the tweaks, works great, keep up the good work.
@@Doofer911 is fsx steam edition better than boxed edition? In performance etc?
200th like !!!
I got the first view! :P
I don't think the disclaimer is necessary in this video.
I got 8gb gtx1070, with 4.6ghz i7-7700k processor,16gb ram gonna give these tweaks ago.
i have an idea of best FSX tweaking:
like:
GET A PROPER PC TO RUN IT ?
