    Read his autobiography and really loved it. He was completely honest, no just about the band but about himself. Not many do that, especially in that business. Really respect him, and on a personal note, his description of when he first met Billie really melted my heart.

    20-year-old me had the pleasure of meeting him after a show back in 1998. My girlfriend and I were the only people waiting around outside by the time the band left the building, and Joe and Brad Whitford took a couple of minutes to chat with us. He was the same guy from this interview - laid back, humble, and thoughtful with his words. Class act.

    Very Cool Interview. Each Member of Aerosmith Has Their Own Story Of Their Point Of View. Joe Perry Is His Own Person and His Music and He Had His Projects. And I Think Each Member Had Something Special. But Joe Perry Your Guitar Riffs and Example Has Touched Many.

I learned so much about Aerosmith.... such an in-depth and engaging interview for the last 50% of it.. fascinating... I happen to be one of the hugest Aerosmith fans in the world... LOL not by volume but by heart

      I saw them in Central Park in 1974. PLayed three tunes until they were booed off stage! They stunk, but Tyler was already a star. And today he is the best front man of all time. Perry is just plain cool.

      Both good guys. Imagine being in a hugely successful band or any band for that matter. From experience it's a fucking tough thing to maintain which is why 99% never truly make it. It's nuts. Egos swollen to oblivion and in band squabbling and disagreements. The nature of the beast.

      yesiownfrodo I know your post is a year old, being married for 30 years for my wife and I was fairly easy. We have had some disagreements and many more happy moments than bad moments, we worked together to build us and our home for our two children. Learning to compromise took a little time and even today we know that in time it all balances out and being open to let your partner try things like taking a job at Walmart to take a break from nursing. The bond is the major part of a marriage and working to strengthen the bond needs constant attention! Being faithful to each other is absolute to keep the trust and never let anything destroy the trust, no temptation is worth the cost of losing the trust.

    Joe and I have a lot in common. Be both are guitarists [www.bandmix.com/thomas-de-lello/] (he's better...!) and we both deal with ADHD, both half Italian. I am from Yonkers and I knew Steven Tallerico from 1964 on to Woodstock. I owe Joe an apology...! I was up at the Tallerico house behind the aqueduct in Yonkers with Steven one day down there in the basement where Victor had his grand piano and I did a bad thing. I picked up Joe's guitar, it was a Gibson SG red mahogany with chrome humbucking pickups and Steven got pissed and threw me out of the house...! I shouldn't have done that...! Sorry, Joe, I won't do that again. This was around 1967-8. Before they were Aerosmith Steven, Joe and Tom played sometimes in my area and I saw them at The Parkway Casino in Tuckahoe, The Westchester County Center in White Plains and at the local synagogue on Tuckahoe Rd just west of Roosevelt High School. Don Solomon, a Yonkers local on keyboards. I remember the day in Yonkers when the news broke, probably through the telephone lines that Joe and Steven agreed to work together up in NH. It broke like a news flash throughout the Roosevelt Highschool crowd... it was quite a buzz... I would like for Joe to know that. I saw Joe again at the Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami with his "Jam Band" before a Patriots football game. I held the microphone for a Miami Herald reporter friend of mine for a very brief interview there before he took the stage sometime around 2008 +/-. He took out a guitar for his first number that looked like it might have been the same one that I shouldn't have picked up at Steven's house, just a little faded in color.

    • @ThomasDeLello
      @ThomasDeLello 7 місяців тому +1

      @@weerebeccalittle I have an ADHD diagnosis too. There's no science behind that. It's just a check list of criteria on a pad of paper. Nevertheless, I could never pay attention in school and had to live my life in the slow lane, so it's still real to me. High Functioning Autism diagnosis likewise is just a check list of answers to a bunch of questions, nevertheless real to the people who deal with it. I know. Good Luck.

    Joe Perry's best music was written/played by someone else and he took credit for it. He's not a very good player, never has been... he just LOOKED GOOD on stage. Tyler was definitely the talent in that band because he was the smart one who said "let's use outside talent, since you guys basically have none" and they were HUGE thanks to him.
