I am so proud to see an intelligent and mature person represent rock for us ,I have loved rock since i was a child ,sneaking out of bed to hear the midnight special on our tv ,Tena Turner sure could shake and sing ,I use to sing rolling on the river
I remember as a little boy looking at the covers of my aerosmith albums wishing to meet them and who they were seeing Joe speak today with Internet is a dream come true
Im names my son Tyler Joe. Joe is a awesome guy. The whole band are great. Definitely made an impact on my life. I went to a Aerosmith concert in Springfield Mass. And Joe Perry hugely missed at that concert
Joe perry has been very influential for me. if it wasn't for JP I probably never would have picked up a guitar, which lead me to singing. he inspired me a lot. if I were granted only one wish in life, it would be to meet JP. ask him how he got that kick ass sound for the Album "Rocks". I mean fuck me, that sound is epic. that and get your wings. what were you playing through. sounds incredible.
im a big Slash fan as well. Saw Guns and roses open for Aerosmith in 1988 in Mansfield , MA. possibly one of the best shows I've ever seen. Guns had only Appetite and Lies just came out earlier that year so they played almost the whole Appetite for destruction album. they played 3 shows in Mansfield that August. I went to 2 of them. One of the shows I was so drunk I barely remember. but the other show I was totally straight. That night guns closed their show by playing Rocket queen. which is one of my favorite songs. I've seen Aerosmith about 13 times. they never get old. great band. im from Boston so have been fortunate to have them right in this city.
Rocks was recorded almost live, in their Warehouse just outside Boston. Not sure if they still own it but it was their storage/rehearsal/recording spot in the 70's. I think that sound has a lot to do with it was recorded, live a a very big room.
That photo at 2:14--Joe Perry gets to sit at the "cool table" with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck! That should be framed on some guitar hero "Mount Rushmore" somewhere, because it is EPIC!
Ha ha....these dinausor rock stars really have the wardrobe to go with their profession...Imagine he had come in dressed metroseuxal with an attaché case?
Reminds me of me when I was sent suo amicizia richiesta I was nonethewiser about his chosen profession and was just interested by him, When I did end up accepting the add sul FB. And even if think he is great with acoustic and electric guitar, and enjoyed 1 gig July 3rd 2011, still feel that way - creativity is great but his still to me just a person... (these job titles and career too) can become so empty/and attaching worthiness to a job or career is suicide (so unhealthy, when one thinks deeply enough, about this). It may be a part of you (being creative) but it isn't who you are, that belongs to your thymus (seat of the soul) and Anahata!!, not an outside thing like job/career/notoriety/wealth accumulated from it. I feel that is one reason he walked away (Joe). I can't lie he does tear it up on the chittara communque and I wanna hear it one-on-one both on acoustic and electric but non distorted as he does (on purpose for effect). ^*^
Poser? Then who is legitimate? I mean really. How old are you? I've seen them live many times since the mid 70s. "Poser" is an insult to anyone in this group. Perhaps you should stick to rocking out to your Styx albums.
You just know he was so over promoting this book by the end of the promo tour - especially these morning shows who always highlight the same shit : "the drugs & alcohol,...the drugs, ...the drugs ,...... the drugs ,....... Steven Tyler ...... the drugs ....... "
Tony I mean Joe fantastic Tony Rome from Portland Connecticut check me out on UA-cam Lucky Lefty Tony Rome Tony Rome and the Swagger band or on a site called tap finger good luck in the future my friend
Joe if you ever need a good frontman Tony Lombardo Portland Connecticut AKA Tony Rome you and Steven are great if you ever need a front man give a shout.
+David Scottmaclean By now, Joe's unique and unapologetic brand of P.R. is probably what he will stick with. The royalties he earns from "Walk this Way" alone affords him the freedom and security to chew gum where and whenever he wants to, and then, in the next breath, be able to state with pride that when you sell 100 million albums, then you can come talk to me about chewing gum.
Drugs and too many years of touring. No one really knows how touring can wear you down till you do it . I love Aerosmith so much but I just want them all to take a break. They’ve earned it and they need to rest and stay healthy. Sometimes people don’t realize they’re older when they’re having so much fun.
He is one of the last great rock stars left...respect.
@Jake Johnson yeah man..you are right..it's been doa for quite a while now..
They didn’t call him “Gentleman Joe” for nothing. ❤️
Joe seems to be a real gentleman.
Smart guy.
What a great interview Joe seems like such a gentleman. He is so self taught.
I am so proud to see an intelligent and mature person represent rock for us ,I have loved rock since i was a child ,sneaking out of bed to hear the midnight special on our tv ,Tena Turner sure could shake and sing ,I use to sing rolling on the river
Did anyone else know Perry is self taught? That is Amazing!
Most rock guitarists are self taught. That in itself is nothing special.
mrfester42 You're special.
Who was Ohio's first rock star?
especially his generation....rock guitar was still kinda new in the mid 60's when he started.
you couldn't really go to a music school and learn it.
Yes, he is. He used a student guitar and the directions that came with it.
I remember as a little boy looking at the covers of my aerosmith albums wishing to meet them and who they were seeing Joe speak today with Internet is a dream come true
I love Joe Perry!❤️
Joe Perry ROCKS and his book is a must-read.
Wow he sounds like such a great guy
No wonder he's a genius on guitar 🎸
Perry is allways a class act.
awrsome guy.

All with a single guitar lesson. The greatest.
He brought the decency to the toxic twins. What a wonderful Virgo.

Joe must be the most laid back person I’ve ever seen 🎸

Rhonda Kay
Sounds like a great down to earth guy...he also has the multiple and multifarious chains around the neck market covered.
See, i was thinking he could use a few more. I didn't really like that i could still see a few slivers of his chest.
What about a lobster bib?
Hey, maybe it could catch on. Be kinda like the little white streak in the hair?
Ha ha....these dinausor rock stars really have the wardrobe to go with their profession...Imagine he had come in dressed metroseuxal with an attaché case?
Steve Morse m
Them two women look like they wanna pounce on him.. lmao

Anyone noticed he wearing two watches though
❤❤❤😮
I can’t imagine him getting loud and yelling.
Notice the black dudes facial expressions, when the blonde is introducing the lead guitarist to the TV audience.
Gr. Vo. First thing I noticed
Gotta read it.
Joe is living proof that a hatchet face can be the hottest thing in the world!
He Wears 2 Watches 😎
Joe Perry is the cool Paul Stanley.
Who's the blond? Dam
Low key great player / riff writer skinny dude....
He got old, getting frail happens to us all. He was ripped as hell after he quit drugs.
I bet if that hair farmer got a haircut and took some guitar lessons ...i bet he could be famous.
Winning multimillionaire rockstars kill me!!!
Tough life...
Guitar hero! (looks rough as hell though)
He's been through a lot man!
17 76 not only he's old but also the drugs he did, drugs can have Yu looking like that
wait so did they end the BAND!!!!!
The band broke up in the late 70s and got back together in 84 and are still together to this day
Poser? Then who is legitimate? I mean really. How old are you? I've seen them live many times since the mid 70s. "Poser" is an insult to anyone in this group. Perhaps you should stick to rocking out to your Styx albums.

Joe Perry, real life caricature.
Cruela devil?
Joe has to learn his P.R...stop chewing gum to begin with.... and don't rest you right foot on top of the left one.
What's with the foot thing? Is it unhealthy do it?
+David Scottmaclean By now, Joe's unique and unapologetic brand of P.R. is probably what he will stick with. The royalties he earns from "Walk this Way" alone affords him the freedom and security to chew gum where and whenever he wants to, and then, in the next breath, be able to state with pride that when you sell 100 million albums, then you can come talk to me about chewing gum.
He's a ROCKSTAR, not a mainstream pussy go watch your beloved BEIBER fucko.
rock stars aren't usually open to any kind of media training
TYLER oftewn has his foot up on the chair or sofa
Shy people tend to do that...
What a horrible wig
it's not wig....I assume your kidding
the dude has a full head of hair
He's talking about the black guy.
Your kidding....right?!?
Why do so many rock stars resemble absolute train wrecks?
Drugs and too many years of touring. No one really knows how touring can wear you down till you do it . I love Aerosmith so much but I just want them all to take a break. They’ve earned it and they need to rest and stay healthy. Sometimes people don’t realize they’re older when they’re having so much fun.
