As I mentioned in the comments of your previous video, I replaced my wife's stock Microshift cassette with their own CS-G 104, which has the same gearing but with the two largest cogs being alloy & with a full alloy spider. It weighs 424 grams and can be found for $50, so it's a no brainer. Glad to see the thru axel non drive side dropout has integrated threads. The wife's Poseidon (Redwood) has a nut, which I'm paranoid we'll lose, so ordered a couple of extras just in case. Glad to see you are covering both ends of the spectrum, and what can be done to "low end" but quality bikes with a few upgrades. So impressed with the quality for the $ of hers, that I'm thinking of building a X up for myself as a rainy day bike for myself. Just wish the sold it as a frame or framsset only. Keep up the great work, THANKS!
Hello and thank you. When this video was posted, no. However, Poseidon may have updated the wheels since then. Best to reach out to them directly, good luck!
Thank you. One more question, is this a kit you buy to make the conversion? Or do you just purchase each piece individually. Thank you again. I bought the ambition x gen 2 last night l!
See the review of the bike here (ua-cam.com/video/mNWlCTGg4eo/v-deo.html) this video was all about the upgrades Poseidon has available, and what's possible.
I just bought an flat bar ambition x. however, i have been seeing that its fork has broke for many other users. I plan on doing bikepacking trips on it. could you please tell about how you found the stock fork?
Wait…. So on the back the thru-axle attachment thingy is held by two tiny screws… and that supports all the weight as you go over bumps etc. Am I missing something? Do you think that’s a good idea? 👍
They offer this service on their site for $300.00 full conversion with thru wheels, tubless. is it woth it? I love riding, hate maintenance more than a tire change, and I have no tools.
This all depends on the quality of their tubeless wheels. Like everything, tubeless still needs maintenance, meaning sealant top up from time to time, etc.
I have the X ambition drop and the stock setup with 38T chainring and 11 -48t cassette was a bit slow for my riding style coming off a road bike with a 50/34T and 11-28. I ended up changing the front to a 44T and the rear to a 11-38 which was closer in gearing for what I was used to and my predominant terrain which is paved. Also went to 700x35 road tires as the stock 700x40s were huge and had a tread pattern that wasnt the best for long distance riding on pavement In terms of speed, I average about 16 on the flats with the X which is about 1.5 - 2mph slower than my old road bike
Poseidon was the Roman god of the sea (the Greeks version was Neptune). So does that mean it rides exceptionally well in extremely wet weather? An aqua-bike, if you will? And if not, why not? These are questions only someone with entirely too much time on their hands would ponder.

Agreed on the frame and fork, wishing it was available by itself, would make for a killer project bike.
Awesome vid. Can the stock wheels be utilized with the thru axles? I know some wheels have end caps that can be swapped.

Poseidon did offer a thru-axle kit when I reviewed the bike.
Yeah it was out of stock so wasn’t on the site but I’ve ordered it now. Thanks for the help!

Awesome upgrade! What's your tire size/width? thanks for sharing.
Hey there, I was using the Panaracer Gravelking SK in 700c x 43mm for the purpose of this demonstration. Good luck!

You had better check out some other bikes, just about any detachable dropout bolts to the frame in this manner. I have never seen a fail.
@@GravelCyclist thank you

I’m thinking about getting the x ambition but could you please tell me the speeds you get I’m curious due to the 1x10 drive train

Hello Gravel Cyclist! What is the tire clearance of the gravel fork?
Hello there, I was easily able to fit 700c x 43mm, but 45mm will have no problem clearing.
If that advent cassete feels heavy, never ever try sram sx on a scale hahaha
