There is so many guitar players who always think more is more.. and then there's this man who has the most stylish powerful approach and gets the job done with fucking class
Agreed! Very much like Gibbons and Gilmour. Not many players have an instantly recognizable style/sound, but he certainly did! When you find yourself humming along with a guitar solo, that’s when you know you’re hearing something extraordinary, and all three of the above players had many of those!🤘
Gary is the reason I still listen to skynyrd without him the band wouldn’t have been shit his style of playin he always sounds the same live or studio and makes look so easy
I would have loved to have seen more Muscle Shoals-era or 1969-72 demo work on this list, as I could think of at least a few from that era worth mentioning. Like Eric Clapton's work with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Gary Rossington still had the "fire of youth" on his side as he was still just a teenager or just out of his teens during those sessions. The last solo on "You Run Around" with that sweet "woman tone" comes to mind
13 yrs old got turned on to second helping...realistic 8track with converter,,and realistic headphones...my older brother came for a visit..and let me jam!! The beginning of tinnitus..
I don’t know if I have a favorite, it’s amazing that his solos are memorized and played the same! His guitar is truly the key sound of Lynyrd Skynyrd, funny, spell ckeck kicked in when I typed their name!
🤘 godspeed Gary! Damn i miss your guitar playing brother👌 This makes me emotional man.... I so miss the past, i miss when awesome rock n roll was the soundtrack to our lives🤘🍻
Almost all of his solos are Great. I know there's A Great One however, As I listen to this it's a very hard question to answer. So Really, They're all Great Rockin To The Sound in Little Rock Arkansas Merry Christmas 2021
Watched your other video too, Gary so underrated it isn't slightly funny. Actually they all were individually, & as a band. I love watch his slide on Freebird, his signature lay way back at certain spots, it justadds a lil something, like Allen's jumps or when all 4 jump at same time. . I am memorized watching them all, tragedy there is not more good video of them but thankfully we do have some. Iove Live @Knebworth, just bought it maybe 10 days ago I have watched it 4 times already. Unfortunately I never got to see them live, I did get to see Rossington Collins Band &;they were realy good & Dale could belt it out but when they did instrumental of Freebird with spotlight at lead mike, I think ant whole audience cried. I love their music., all of it. Ronnie wrote some crazy aongs but ge also wrote beautiful ballads like Comin Home, Am I Losin etc. They were the real deal! They were the 1st band I ever heard 3 guitar army, Ronnie said each concert they wanted to give that audience their best performance. After show they would critique how they did & ways to be better.
At first I only knew the ones everyone knows. Free bird, 3 steps, Alabama, and simple man. Then I realized there’s a lot of good ones they never play on the radio
RIP Gary Rossington. Thank you for the great music. Fly high now with the other Free Birds.

I feel exactly the same way. Hope you are well and still rockin' to some Skynyrd!! ✌️♥️
Kinda partial to "On the Hunt" but everything they did was groundbreaking
R.I.P. Gary🌹
Man I’ve loved these guys forever but it just hit me what swinging bad ass cat Rossington was as a player. Perfection.

Gosh he was good. Really good. Allen was too.
Out of all the guitar legends who played a Les Paul Gary has the best tone. There's so much soul in his playing. I like his ' bad man', solo.
That's the thing!! It came from the soul. That's what make him such a awesome guitarist
Thanks for the video. A surely missed legend!
