Well sorta. When I hit my 1 year point I upgraded my sump from a 29G to a 50G which gave me more space for my refugium. I added new MM with some of the old stuff to fill in that area.
Looking Real good Pedro. I like the Filter Brick thing that you got. Ive always wanted to try the miricle mud, but for sure I gotta get some trigger pods. Nice choice with the skimmer, When I was looking at your sump, I was thinking something is missing, lol. To early here, youre +2 hours ahead!
Thanks bro . Yea I should have the ultimate filtration once the bio block gets going the pods where a great addition to the sump too. U should give the mud a try just use the tray concept for easy removal. I've seen some awesome tanks that have the mud. So will see
Coming along nicely. I too use miracle mud not sure how much it helps the system because on top of that i use live mud i got shipped from Florida keys i got it on ebay was full of good bacteria and helped my tank alot micro algae thrives in the live mud. Good Luck
One suggestion is put the bioblock on the seperator underneath your filter pad that way you have more room for microalgea as you know that rock will get a lot of algea being underneath that light. just my opinion
Nice setup........I have a similar sump setup and was considering also trying the Miracle Mud. I have a custom Ruby 36 where my refuguim section is 1" smaller than yours. (11.25 x 14.5)...I had to increase the skimmer section by 1" to accommodate the Omega 150 that I'm using.......the 180 wasn't available when I got mine ...two quick questions: Can you let me know where you purchased the tray you're using and what the dimensions are? The acrylic mud tray I wanted cost like $85 delivered almost $40 just for the S/H to South Florida....a little much......and the one your using looks and works just fine. Thanks.........
Thanks for watching bro. I got the tray at wallmart. I measured the inside LxW of the fuge and got one that fit in there snug only thing I did was remove the handels the tray brought on each side to make it fit.
Hi Pedro, It's been over a year and I wanted to ask you how the mud and the block are helping. How often do you do water changes and what are your nitrates at before the water change? I am wanting to use the same products but want to see how they do. I was thinking of making a large sump with the blocks stacked between egg crates and let water trickle through the blocks.
i really have no complaints on the mud. throughout that year I never had any issues the bio block works great once establish lots of micro fauna reproduction. I am currently no longer running the mud because I'm doing a different method but I am helping the system to control nitrates by carbon. dosing
Nicholas clark at the beginning I think I did have some alge on it while it got established. I did an update on the sump on my new video if you wanna check it out
I really clean nice design..
Love your aqua scared rock. I tried hard to recreate it. It’s so hard cutting and gluing rock.
Came togather nicely. Miracle Mud has worked great in my experience with it for a year now.
Thanks bro . Yea gonna give it a try. Have you changex up your 50% mud yet ?

Thanks Arrick! Yea I like the features that 180 brings plus save some space in sump .
Like the way you painted your PVC pipes!
+Alex Lundy He didn't paint them, he bought them from Bulkreefsupply.com. They come in red, blue, green, etc.
