Kalkwasser is easy to use and not messy, to use it properly and hassle free, all you have to do is, open the valve a little for a few drips and check your water parameters, then increase the flow. Then once parameters are stable and the corals are fine, then no more increasing, unless you add corals, used a deltec one for ages and had no problems.

It is one of the nicer tanks. Congrats. I just took down my 250 display of 10 years and never got it to this level. I am now setting up a 900 3xl and hope it can be this nice. Really looking forward to that sump video you mentioned.

you really need to be carful with nopox and absolutely need a skimmer not only to clean the waste but nopox reduces dissolved oxygen the skimmer helps fight that. nopox also strips nutrient that has to be dosed daily. its not a quick fix and if dosed to quickly or overdosed you can strip all nutrient to 0 and wipe out the tank fast. start at half the recommended daily dose and slowly come up ie 1ml per 25 gallon per day for a week or 2 then come up. you absolutely need to be dosing some sort of beneficial bacteria and nutrient at the same time. something like microbacter or redsea reef foundation. key to it is low and slow. often new reefers will panic at the sign of cyno dynos or algae and max dose or overdose. low and slow as well as understanding what carbon dosing actually does.

If you NOPOX u need a skimmer without it your leaving all the bacteria floating In the water which were the cyano came. When I dose skimmer always takes so much out also did u cycle before adding corals and fish?
