Cool way to do it! On a side note I have never seen a lidless waterfall style reactor like that!

Smart! I put my MM in a tuperware bin and the flow is blowing it into other baffles.

I wanted to do this but i thought that the mud would fluidize and dust out of the reactor and end up in the sup making clean up hard... I like the floss idea i might even put some in the chaeto ractors

I think once I change sumps Im going to try this. Did you make that 2nd black sponge yourself?

Nice video. I have been thinking about doing the very same thing in my reef. Thank you for some great information :)

Hello Good morning, I hope you're succeeding in your aquarium.
I have a question, I want to know if you still use Miracle Mud in your reactor or if you switched to Triton?

This is not the way how ECO systems have recommended it to be used. Has it worked out well for you? What changes did you see in your system after placing it?

I have been working with Leng Sy the creator of miracle mud, so I believe it is how it can be run

Great vid. So how much do you use for your tank or is it just by eye. Also doesn’t the mud just fluidise into your system? Sorry if questions seem strange to you hoping to use this on my setup.

seancolly i use around a pound and half and flow is slow so its passing through not fluidizing.

That’s no way enough to have an impact on the tank, have u seen the recommended amount to use ? I can’t help but feel this is an incorrect way to use the product, do you think that small amount makes a difference ? Also are you running your skimmer 24/7

Red sea reefer 750xxl You'd be surprised. Just like any other additive and trace element supplementation, it's a cumulative affect that benefits the reef system. The Miracle Mud utilization in this method addresses mineralization and consumption of the particulates which contributes to the overall health of the reef inhabitants. Though it does not allow for pod and macroalgae propogation in this particular method, utilizing the Mud in this application allows for people without room for a full refugium to benefit from the addition of trace elements and macro and micro nutrients especially during the initial "clouding" of the fine fine mineral particulates released into the main system.
Lastly, changing out the media more often, every 3 to 4 months, allows for the replenishment of the minerals that get spent quicker in this reactor method. :)
      Hope this helps. :D

Whats your flow? and how long do you think it lasts before feeling that you have to replace it from replenishing?

Genius idea!!Do you think this would work with the BRS GFO/Carbon reactor?

Awesome update Paul. I was waiting for this Vid to come out. Many Thanks what kinx of flow you run through it does it tumble gently like GFO? I have a spare Reactor TLF 150 which I am planning to use.

I guess how aaron created miracle mud refugium will have more sucess than reactor..

    • @ReefCommunityWorldwide
      @ReefCommunityWorldwide  7 років тому +2

Krishna Karkera depends how you mean? My way is a refugium free tank way so won't be utilising it for pods. But as in utilising all the minerals and elements this is the way forward.
