How did you do with last week's video? Regular, preterite AR conjugation.
I hope you followed my instructions. Downloaded the free resources I gave you. Practiced your little tooshie off.
If you did, this week's lesson will be much easier.
If you didn't, it'll be way more confusing.
That's how verb conjugation works.
Learn the first one just kinda eh, the next one will be significantly harder.
There are patterns between the conjugations. Similarities. Differences.
If you can notice those similarities and differences, verb conjugation is a lot easier.
If not, it'll feel like you're drowning.
I've done it both ways. One way led me to an F in high school Spanish.
The other way... led me to Gringo Español (now The Spanish Dude).
The choice is yours.
Watch this week's video, Regular, preterite ER/IR conjugation:
spanishdude.com/quickies/regu...
Then download the free assignments and do them.
Do them well. Do them for real.
And I promise, not only will you know regular preterite ER/IR conjugation like the back of your hand...
You'll feel like a million bucks. I call it the Spanish High.
Try it!
Watch the video. Do the assignments. Then I'll see you next week, we'll start hitting the imperfect tense.
If I can do this, YOU can do this.
So DO THIS!
Dear The Spanish Dude,
You are helping me graduate college.
Thank you,
Dude Watching The Spanish Dude's Vids.
You took a college-level Spanish course without knowing Spanish?
Mr. Gringo, why do you not have like... A MILLION MORE SUBSCRIBERS!!! You have made the Spanish learning life much more easy for me! Thank you so friggin much.
Whoever said that learning in a classroom is easier than learning online was a liar.
Of course. No stupid people to constantly interrupt the teacher.
Thats everyone now in 2020
This person didn’t know what was to come 😭
you spoke too soon lmao
So I'm taking a class where we are learning this and I got nothing. Tomorrow is my final and this video made this concept click. Thank you.
I’m currently doing the same and it’s REALLY HELPING. I’m so glad, since I was so lost and confused before. I hope I’ll do good on my final tomorrow (or today I guess).
I've watching some of your videos for a while and as a Spanish native I really think you do a great great job, even I find interesting some of the rules, connections or similiarities you find between conjugations or english and spanish words. So yeah, keep going man! Sure it makes it easy to learn spanish.
Mario Romero Gracias! I appreciate it! Yes, the connections/similarities/differences are so interesting!!!! I keep finding them myself. Saludo!
your videos are helping me understand conjugation. I am doing a Spanish course for the first time and I felt it was just crazy until I was exposed to your videos on the topics that I am doing. Good job. I know many person like myself have benefited from these videos. I still have some challenges but I just follow your advice and practice, practice. Keep up the good work that you are doing. It is well appreciated.
+cudjoe Brown Thank you so much! I'm really glad I'm helping you. Yes, Spanish isn't easy. But each part, when you focus and practice, really isn't that hard! Sounds like you are on the right track. Thanks for the kinds words. I would have stopped making the videos long ago without comments like yours. Thank you!
Man, there is so much work in these videos of yours. I respect that a lot and I enjoy following every single one of them. Thanks a lot!
I as a student who is studying Spanish in school find these videos very helpful
Your videos are so good and have helped me so much! Thank you.
I’m so in love with these quickies wow
Learning Spanish on my own as a third language. Currently in Spain and found this very helpful :)
You, my friend, are a lifesaver!!!
You just saved my grade🙌🏼
Dude you're a beauty. Definitely breaking this stuff sown into manageable pieces for gringos like me.
I am learning a lot from you, thanks so much 😊
This is so great!
I want to feel spanish AR verbs deep within my soul.
I'm trying to learn Spanish and this was very helpful.
Hey, your videos are excellent in teaching the specifics of grammar in Spanish. I am currently going through the Rosetta Stone program; the problem is, Rosetta Stone is great for vocabulary, but weak on explaining the specifics. Using your videos alongside Rosetta Stone has helped me immensely where Rosetta Stone could not have on its own. Thank you.
im in AP spanish and get the preterite and imperfect messed up, but your videos have helped me a lot
very good teacher and system!
your so awesome you make it so much easier
Yes your methods work and make it much more simple to understand i dont know why they dont use theses techniques in classes .you are rite they give everything one time .confusion and the SPANISH HIGH is for REAL .Keep up the good work
Awesome, thanks 😊
Tus videos son muy copados ( kind of idiom to imply that sth is very cool) i'm teaching english and your videos show how you struggle to learn our lg as much as we struggle to learn yours... greetings from Argentina
You are awesome! Thanks for all your help!
Thank you so much. Glad my videos are helping you.

logan sherlock I'm glad Logan! Taking the week off this week, but I'll be back next week with the imperfect.
Perfect,perfect,perfect..... where can I find exercises you are talking about?
Hi Jordan, I really like your videos, it's helping me a lot. I can't wait to watch your videos about subjunctives.
this is really helpful but also the look in his eyes brings about fear
I can get intense hahaha. I will not hurt you though, I promise. I'm a gentle crazy person.
Very good videos, I am a Spanish teacher and your videos are helping me approach my students from their perspective (English perspective) instead of mine (Spanish perspective) and hahahahaha! it is sooo funny what you did with the "aleluya" part, question: Do you mind if I use your material? Thanks a lot! You are awesome!
Thank you!!! Yes! Of course use my material. I'm honored. Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad my videos help your students!

I saw a video that touched on that fact that spain has a different preterite conjugation grid; would you consider making a video on that?
WHAT?!?!?! HE BLINKS????
lul
WHEN
Great information spoken " muy rapido."
Thank you! Yeah, there are plenty of slow talking teachers out there already =) I never liked slow myself. I'm here for the people that feel the same. Plus, you can slow down the video via UA-cam controls (on computer, not tablet/phone)
Jordan, I am not a gringo, but your video is very very very helpful. I really wonder what made you doing all these hard works, too. I mean making huge amount of videos...
This video made me cry
Loving your videos and your style. The link for the free resources for the preterite past tenses for both AR & IR/ER verbs is not working. TIA
Are there any conjugations in the preterite form for irregular stem changing verbs
I´m spanish and i use your videos for learning english. it´s very useful and you are very well teaching spanish congrats for that, please don´t stop with your videos, I want know where are you living now? Spain?
Buen trabajo! Donde te compraste la camiseta? es lleno de color
It's like speed learning trying to take in the information that whizzes by the screen en tiempo rapido!
do you have a video going over irregular er/ir preterite conjugation? you mentioned briefly the only three irregular (ir,ser, ver) but can't find a video.
There are many more irregulars but only the stems are different. For example "I had" is not "tené" it's actually "tuve."
I have a question. When you say "practice one conjugation pattern at a time" do you mean practice conjugation for IR, ER, and AR individually? Or do you mean to practice all the conjugations for every verb you run across?
thanks for the vid and information, question, when did we start saying preterite rathaer than just past tense, or why do we not say just past tense
Of course I’m not him, but there is more than one type of past tense so they have separate names
There is also imperfect
I don’t know if I’m missing any other past tenses
Do you still make videos?
I'ts funny watch this videos beeing spanish (from spain...) its like.. be the best studient in class XD
What music do you use for your intro??
audiojungle.net/item/smash-it-up/2304628
Watched this thinking when is he gonna get to imperfect and realised it was regular
Me falling asleep while watching this...so tired of studying 😭😭😭😭🤒
I think your videos have awesome information. I would use them more in my classes, but the way the videos are edited or something make the videos very choppy. I think you should consider changing whatever is causing that issues. As a teacher the information is good, but my students hate these videos because of the choppiness. At first I thought it was my internet, but no other videos do that. Please consider changing this! Other than that, your videos rock!
Bit of a boo boo at 3:50; it should be “We work” and “We worked”, not “I work” and “I worked”.
Just showing that I’m paying attention 😊
do a video of you blinking to make up for the fact we never see it
This is very helpful, but the intro music is 200% too loud in the mix, homie
Am I the only one who noticed how infrequently he blinks?
I'm a native speaker and I didn't know learning spanish is so difficult haha
Spanish quickie
Great videos, but, do you actually speak Spanish?? Because like you sound really American and the accents aren’t always spot on. Otherwise, great videos. It helps loads of people study and that’s good
you couldn't stop it if you tried
Don't rly get this
vocal warm ups lolol
2:17 , You're welcome. :)
2 plus 2 it's 4, minus 1 that's 3, quick maths
I saw you blink once consider this a fail, try again next time. _ _
=
Wtf I’m confused
you should add the personal pronoun "ustedes" which is you all for all latin american people! vosotros is just in Spain... It is simple anyway... for ustedes we use the same conjugation of ellos (they).
Love the teaching. Hate the ending music. As I'm trying to contemplate what I've just learned, music jumps in and slips through my ears then punches the shit out of both sides of my brain.
great videos but your face is really lit up
There are too many cuts in your video I recommend just doing voice overs so the cuts are not seen and just show the words in the video because the jump cuts are just too distracting! great teaching style just too much cuts
Yeah no.... Maybe it's because I need someone to yell these in my ears and not be motivational
ur eyes must be dry asf
