I don't know what to think. When my family lived through hurricanes in Texas in the 60s, there was no fema. Nothing. People were on their own. Hurricane Carla was the worst. Yes, I live in New Orleans, and after Hurricane Katrina, we received only $500 from FEMA. Since Hurricane Ida, my homeowners insurance has skyrocketed from $3,200 to $10,400. It makes me wonder: were we ever truly compensated for the damages we endured? I had to pay $5,000 just to remove a massive tree from my yard, while insurance policies cover only $500 per tree. No insurance is a joke!!! And here I am, three years later, still needing to grade my yard and plant grass. It’s truly frustrating. I was denied monetary compensation but offered hotel stay. Oh yeah, 4 to a room. I filled out the paperwork and put that I'm living in my home and just needed the assistance for losing entire food supply. The online form has glitches that bypass if you say there's no damage to your home but on the next part automatically makes you choose what level of damage do you have to your home. If you don't choose one you can't complete the form. FEMA knows what they're doing. Set it up to be flawed on purpose. The question is what are we as a ppl gonna do about this bs?

I don't know what to think. When my family lived through hurricanes in Texas in the 60s, there was no fema. Nothing. People were on their own. Hurricane Carla was the worst. Yes, I live in New Orleans, and after Hurricane Katrina, we received only $500 from FEMA. Since Hurricane Ida, my homeowners insurance has skyrocketed from $3,200 to $10,400. It makes me wonder: were we ever truly compensated for the damages we endured? I had to pay $5,000 just to remove a massive tree from my yard, while insurance policies cover only $500 per tree. No insurance is a joke!!!
And here I am, three years later, still needing to grade my yard and plant grass.

He has been faithful, even as we went back today to get some things that we could salvage and we didn’t have any one to help us lift things into our trucks. I filled out the paperwork and put that I'm living in my home and just needed the assistance for losing entire food supply. The online form has glitches that bypass if you say there's no damage to your home but on the next part automatically makes you choose what level of damage do you have to your home. I heard you have to qualify and to qualify you have to be on government assistance already And not have home insurance. Even then people are being denied.
Also you have to do it online. Most people are still stuck. Don't have electricity or internet. And most places are still cash only this won't help at all.

I saw an interview where one of the SC residents said that you are only able to get UP TO $750. He said his daughter lost her house and when she went to apply for the money, FEMA would only give her $300.
These people have no food, no clothes, no home, no anything else and the government is only giving them a couple of hundred dollars, if they give them anything at all!

I signed up for FEMA 3 nights ago. In response they offered my family a shitty room in the cheapest scummy motel full of crackheads and partying when we looked at it. Then this morning I read the document and any money they give will be through a flipping loan.
Not true!! You will get more . When we got hit with Maria the whole island went down and we didn't get any $ up front. The 45th and just threw paper towels as if that was funny. Later on he had the #$%^ and withheld the funds. There were families that didn't have power until almost a year later. If you flew over island there were hundreds of roofs covered with blue plastic covers. Health workers were forced to work with no communication, food, gasoline or water !!
I heard any1 signing up for the assistance is forfeiting their property to the federal gov and that's y u gotta sign up online cause in an emergency not many ppl will read the fine print

They want to know why you need it, where you spending it, proof of why you need it and receipts for where it's spent. They need proof you had a loss, proof your electricity was off etc etc.

I only received 600.00 after hurricane Michael from FEMA. Was without power for a month. That 600.00 helped a lot. It's not meant to really fix anything but i didn't starve.

Yes, Ukraine received billions, but what we are not being told is how much was returned to various people in the current administration. Another thing is upsetting is that we have no accounting for that money because our liberals decided not to do it. This in itself tells you some of that money has made its way to pockets and not its intended purpose. That country before the war had provided money to a number of our ex politicians and current politicians. Ukraine is a very crooked country.

Katrina survivors also got $750 initial payment. It's intended for immediate need (gas & food) while the rest of the paperwork is processed.
And the ones that I know from there that have applied for the 750 have all been denied… I lost a barn on our property. A huge tree fell on it during the storm. We did not qualify either.

Well on the Fema website here in Florida. $750 is for food lost during the Hurricane. $1200 if your electric has been off for more than 24 hrs.
