Nice review bro. I just picked up the i7 version a few days ago. Tip for screen brightness. go to Device Manager, expand display adapter, right click on the intel HD 620, select update driver. I think it really made a difference. Do you know what the largest capacity m.2 SSD drive is that we can put in these machines? I'm guessing 512gb, but when I did a system scan through crucial, it said we could install a 2.5" 1Tb drive..
I understand that you mentioned it does not support active pen but if I were to buy an active pen and use it on lets say oneNote for note taking, would the experience be bad ? Thank you. Subscribed and Liked! Cheers
Happy new year techdude. I just bought this laptop from best buy but with 12gb ram I7 intel . Good job on the review. Do you think the 12gb ram i7 would be faster?
Nice and timely review. I picked this up open box at Best Buy early December. What really reeled me in was the two SO-DIMM slots. Has anyone out there tried two 16GB modules? I know that most information says only two 8GB modules are an option.
I'm looking for a beginner laptop to run adobe premiere pro, would this be good enough for video editing? looking to upgrade from just editing from my phone. thanks!
Hey TechDude, did you happen to monitor temps while running benchmark vs just casual use? I have same model: i5-7200u 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. I find temps get hot way too quickly. In casual use it's fine, but anything slightly intensive and temps jump 70-92c. That's when fan eventually kicks in. By comparison Sky Lake model Inspiron 5568 and XPS 13 9350 do not do this at all.
@TechDude731, You mention in the video that this can be charged using USB-C. I have this model (7378) and i can also see that dell says on the website for this model that it can be charged with USB-C, but when i plug a usb-c cable into it, it does not charge. Just wondering did you get it to charge using USB-C? P.S Anybody out there considering buying this. I would completely recommend it. Very little fan noise, very fast for the normal user, it has all the I/O ports that normal people need. Can feel a bit heavy in tablet mode, but to be honest, your not gonna use that very much anyways. For video i do flip the screen and leave the keyboard facing down for airflow while laying in bed. My only bad point would be the battery, but 6 hours of video is what i get too, and thats decent. Overall, very good buy. If i can only figure out this USB-C Charging.
question: for daily basic use (Social media, Email, MS Office, blogging, youtube, netflix, etc) is there any benefit to me at all for upgrading the RAM? I don't really play games on my laptop and rarely have more than 1 or 2 tabs open.
+TechDude731 my battery lasts only 5 hours and my brightness is at 10% i watch maybe 3 youtube videos but mainly browsing. Do you know any key settings i can adjust to make it longer? Atm i turned off bluetooth, gps.
No, unfortunately the M.2 version of the 950 Pro uses the Pci-E interface, which this laptop does not support. It supports only M.2 SSDs using the SATA III interface, such as the SanDisk Z400s it ships with
should i buy this ? I got you a lot of questions! 1) Is it fast or slow or OK? 2)How good is the display? Is it good enough for playing a movie of 2-3 hours? 3)How much does the battery last? Simple usage for word, internet, gmail, etc 4)And the most important Is it good for gaming? Please reply , it's a request. I have subscribed you.
1) It is fast for everyday use, as having an SSD helps with that. 2) The display is good, 1080p, with excellent viewing angles, although it is not the brightest, and has some glare since it is glossy depending on if you are looking to use it outside or in very bright rooms. 3) The battery lasts 5-6 hours for usage like word and internet usage. 4) I would not recommend this laptop for gaming, unless you only play light games or older games. This is a thin and light convertible and does not have dedicated graphics, it is simply not intended for any sort of heavy gaming use.
Hello TechDude731 Expert, Does this pen (accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=750-AAMI) work with Inspiron 13 7000 Series (Intel) - 7378? Can I use this pen to take a note in MS OneNote, powerpoint, Word, etc.?
This is a good review IMO, because of the cut and dry review and the feeling of a honest review. Thumbs up.

Yes, the i7 should be somewhat faster than the i5. The extra ram may help if you have several programs open at once, or ones which use more ram.

peter sachs It supports up to 32Gb. of memory because Dell Support Assist in my box says: "12Gb installed of 32 GB Supported"

Is it possible to install another battery?

Michael Doran I Charge it using the a 36watt Chromebook charger. You need a high watt USB C charger for it to work.
Did you find that the cooling fan was very loud and would inconsistently rev up and down?
i got mine today, and I haven't even noticed it kick on
Mine was pretty loud as well. i exchanged to another one and its quiet now. I might be a defect.
Do you happen to know if there's any difference between the 7368 and the 7378 besides the update to Kaby Lake?
As far as I know, that is the main difference.

is this new model better than i7359? i see it has less usb ports and the audio is not in the sides
I bought mines from BestBuy - 7378 7th gen i7, 256ssd 12GB Ram. How much can I upgrade the ram by?
Daryl Khan if it's 12 I would assume 16.
Daryl Khan im considering buying the same model/specs, would recommend it? Any issues/concerns?
Can you put 2.5" ssd in addition to M2 that come with it? It has the space but not sure the connector for additional ssd is present.

+TechDude731 Could we play Nba 2k17 on this laptop (model with 8gb ram), if so on what settings
I wish I had the money, I would return mine for the hp spectre x360. I like the laptop, just not the screen resolution.
so, this would not support something like a Samsung 950 pro ssd, correct?
