    Nice review. Very factual, enthusiastic and natural (despite some head scratches and that phone call, lmao.) , It feels like i'm looking at a close friend and not a robotic UA-cam classic review, keeping it away from being boring.
    i will buy this laptop definitely, thanks.

    Great review. Much quicker and right to the point when compared to some of the big site's reviews I've watched. Not all of us speak the computer language fluently and this review delivered easy to understand information in a timely manner. Keep it up.

      Ok, well i'm wanting to get this for university. What does your work day consist of when using this laptop? I'll mainly be using it for writing in word and also flicking through slides. My general day at university will consist of 8-10 hours usage as well.

    Hi Chris! great review, thanks for that. I wanted to know about the fan performance on your laptop? does it get heated up quickly? I bought mine a week ago and it just has one vent next to the hinges and the bottom is always hot. awaiting your reply and advise!

    Pretty thorough review! Might want to get your terms down, like length, width, and height since you got the metric terms down =). You also want to keep the background clean so as not to be distracting. Do you take it out and about like you would a tablet? Do you think I would need to get a skin protector? I'm definitely getting one for the screen.

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      +arbocorp Yeah definitely agree with the background, especially the random table or painting at the back. Maybe graphics to state the length, width, thickness height would work. Thank you for the Feedback.
      I bring this machine out for a laptop purpose, Tablet purpose is a secondary thought that usually doesn't happen and is a plus if the need comes up.
      It's interesting that you brought up the screen protector, I was debating the same thing with adding a screen protector to my laptop, but I haven't put one on yet because I haven't found a good one to buy or if I should just cut out the film myself. I want to say if you plan on tablet use a lot, yes screen protector... if more laptop use which I use more often, no screen protector.

    • @arbocorp
      @arbocorp 8 років тому

      My goto screen protectors is bestskinsever. Even though you say you'll rarely use it as a tablet you're going to at least use it. They're excellent for protection.

    • @Chrisshao

      +Hani Okasheh Thanks for your feedback on the video.
      I compared
      amzn.to/27p53wI
      amzn.to/1TDIHxx
      If price point / money is an issue, with the Lenovo Yoga 500 you save a good amount of money. But Yoga does not perform as well as the Dell.
      Honestly Bang for Buck I would go for this Dell Laptop - amzn.to/1TDIHxx
      I have had Lenovo Laptops in the past and Currently you have to spend a high amount to gget a good performing laptop with the specs and portability of a good laptop. I was eyeing the Carbon x1 For a while, but its so pricey.
      The X1 Carbon has the same specs hardware wise as this dell but costs $1.5K, Biggest factor is how thin the laptop is and it has a finger print reader. amzn.to/1Xcsu7H
      What do you think? was I comparing the right laptops?

      +Chris Shao (GetThisHere101) hey mate, yeah I think I'm settled on the Dell, lenovo's good is the lovely Geforce 940m but any thing other than that the Dell blows it out of the water. the Carbon x1 is a beauty, a beauty that's damn out of my league lol

    One of the best & detailed reviews Chris. How would you rate the laptop for using Lightroom?
    also upon regular browsing through wi-fi & some basic computing, with screen brightness approx. 50% & keyboard backlight off, how much would the battery last approximately?
    Also, im a bit confused between the 13" retina & the 7359. what would be your take for photo editing, using It for professional work & connecting 2-3 Virtual machines?

    Great review. Wanted to buy but just getting put off by the track pad. The track pad is not smooth and making the mouse movement jerky due to roughness, which I feel can be annoying in day to day use. Do you feel any problem with the rough trackpad. Actually I have tried this on 7348 model. but the dealer says the 7359 which i am planning to buy is similar construction. Can you please help me to know whether the track pad is really annoying or is it ok for daily use.

    Hi Chris,
    Greeting from Cambodia, I have been looking for purchasing a new laptop, and I have gone through your video for the preview of "Dell Inspiron 13 i7359 2-in-1 laptop". Thank you very much for such useful and clear video. Regarding its specifications other than battery, I seem to appreciate the laptop since it is suitable for my work and entertainment (movie watching...). The only concern that I have for the Dell laptop is battery. Lots of my friends have encountered bad experience on the same thing. In most cases, they said the Dell batteries could last only up to 2 years and became dead, and they needed to constantly plugged the charger to the power source.
    Thus, I would like to hear from you about it on this new Dell model. With the three-cell battery, does the laptop really last up to 7 or 8 hours for normal operations? Is it likely that the laptop's battery just lasts for two years and it is dead like other Dell models? And oh...with the resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, how would you comment about the screen quality? Compared to the Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with almost 300 USD higher price, which one do you recommend?
    I am waiting forward to seeing from you for the response before I decide to buy. Thanks in advance!
    Regards,

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      Battery guarantee lasts for 4 hours, if you are light usage 7 hours. I am not to sure about the battery degrading over time, I have not had it for more than 1 year.

    • @ChopinSchubert
      @ChopinSchubert 8 років тому

      well, i say, 2-3 hours for graphics design and programming. the battery life not great but, uni have faster desktops in the lab that you can use for big projects and many classes have a power port infront of everydesk. Either way, great laptop, cheap fast and fairly light. If u are doing hard core programming and designing, I recommend you to also get a desktop because a 600 CAD one will be twice as fast as this laptop.

      Well i wont be using as an intense performance as you. I will just be using it for writing in word and looking through powerpoints. Do you think it would last me longer than 2 - 3 hours? also is there a battery saving mode option that will increase the battery time?

    • @ChopinSchubert
      @ChopinSchubert 8 років тому

      yes, there is a battery saving mode. and for you; if you only use word and looking through powerpoints, turn off the wifi setting and turn on battery eco mode with LOW SCREEN BRIGHTNESS and u should get 6 to 8 hours

    • @ChopinSchubert
      @ChopinSchubert 8 років тому

      also, if you will only use word and powerpoint, get the i3 or the i5. they are cheaper and operate at a lower frequency; hence, consumes less battery

    Hey Chris. I'm looking to buy this laptop for studying. Do you recommend it for that? How long is the battery when running low-memory programs such as Word, PowerPoint, paint.net and other educational tools and programs? Will the ventilation sound like a tornado when watching high-quality videos in 1080p or when running the programs above (or other educational tools and programs)?
    Not related to the laptop itself, but would disabling the touch screen increase the battery time?

    Hi Chris. Great review, n no you didn't go over anything.. 😉
    I have a quick query, I guess Dell has now reduced some of the features of the laptop I'm planning to buy it 13 5000 series but Dell doesn't provide backlit keyboard now. For backlit keyboard I've to buy an expensive version of this 13 7000 series. 13 5000 has has a plastic body whereas 13 7000 has a metallic one. Please share your thoughts it'll be really helpful for me.. Thanks mate..

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  6 років тому

      the plastic body is ok, but depends on how much backlight is worth. I personally choose backlight

    • @AK-ce8lg
      @AK-ce8lg 6 років тому

      Chris Shao Thank you for your response. Even I prefer backlit keyboard, I live in Australia, and here just for backlit keyboard and few few ups n down (13 5000 doesn't support RAM upgradation where as 13 7000 does, GHz of processors is slightly different 3.5 n 4.0 ) Dell Australia is charging around 700 AUD more.. For whatever I buy I need to see whatever suits me best financially..

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  6 років тому

      so is the $530 USD extra worth the Ram upgrade and GHZ increase. hmmm
      I feel like in general the RAM upgrade is no need to take account because the likelihood of Upgrading RAM in the future is slim. But the Backlit keyboard not worth the increase of price and GHZ difference is negligible.
      Unless there is another factor the 7000 series out competes.

    • @AK-ce8lg
      @AK-ce8lg 6 років тому

      Chris Shao The are certain other specs which differs 5000 series from 7000. But they're very negligible to consider.. I just did a bit more research n found the difference are as follows:
      First: one of them has just infrared webcam, other has infrared webcam with microphone n widescreen HD 720p optionality - personally I think it doesn't even matter as we rarely or only use webcame for meetings.
      Second: Even though both are 13 inch 7000 looks a bit smaller as that of 5000. Difference is in height, width. Thus as 7000 is smaller in looks weighs less 1.45 Kg as compared to 5000s' 1.62 Kg
      Third: 7000 has all 3.1 USB port wheras 5000 has two 3.1 USB n one 2.0..
      Fourth: 7000 comes with multi touch precision integrated scrolling, n on other hand 5000 with just precision scrolling - personally I believe anyone is fine for me we rarely use so much precision n multi touch purpose.
      Yeah all this n as I said earlier 7000 with backlight n 5000 without backlight.
      What do you say?

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  6 років тому

      +AK alright, 5000 is 👍. I was concerned about the weight but 1.62kg is 3.5lbs which is below 5lbs so good. Yah webcam, no big deal. Usb ports sure 2 3.1 and one 2.0 usb not deal breaker. Multi touch could probably find 3rd party / dell drivers for the mouse pad

    I purchased this very core i7 variant just a couple of days back. I am really worried about the paint job dell has done on the palm rest area. The palm rest is made of metal with a silver coating on top. After a couple of days' usage, I feel that, regularly using the laptop with the slightest of sweat in your wrists will discolor the chassis. Even found a few users complaining about the same issue. What do you think?

      Uh the Zenbook is only offered up to i5 and the Dell is up to i7, but i5 and i7 6th gen skylake is not a substantial noticeable difference in "better" performance.
      the Zenbook has a micro HDMI port compared to the Dell with Full size HDMI port, but the Zenbook is lighter than the Dell (2.86lbs vs 3.66lbs) - big plus
      I think right now it all comes down to design and looks you prefer.
      (Also the Dell has a Touch Screen, the Zenbook is not a Touch Display) - But your coding so that is not a big factor.
      If I were to choose... I would go with Dell, because I want to experience touchscreen on a laptop. Thanks for showing the Zenbook, I did not know about this competitor that is lighter.
      Second Thought: the Zenbook does not have a backlit keyboard... that's a big downfall for me. I need backlit keyboard for working at night. So hands down Dell i7 359.
      (these were the two links I was looking at)
      Dell - amzn.to/1TwcM1D
      Asus - amzn.to/1T5WKS6
      Sorry if this is really long. But let me know what you think and any other concerns.

    Do you need to plug in the power brick to the laptop every time you use the laptop? Or only for charging it?

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      When I am at a place such as Starbucks, I bring the power brick. If you plan to be on the Laptop for more than 3 hours I would charge it.

    Hi Chris, how's is it with the stylus?

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      The stylus is not the best, I definitely prefer using my finger as it has better accuracy and response.

    Would you recommend buying the i7359 or the i7559?

      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      i7359 Mainly because of the portability of a 13 inch laptop.

    Hello. Very good review. But I would like to know if the Inspiron 4GB Ram is it the same good or not? I would like to spend like 500$ for a laptop and I liked it . I am between the Inspiron i7359-2435SLV 13.3 Inch 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop (6th Generation Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD) and the HP Notebook 15-ay011nr 15.6-Inch(6th Gen Intel Core i5-6200U Processor, 8GB DDR3L SDRAM, 1TB HDD, Windows 10). Which is better for only working/ business. No games ecc.
    Thank you. If you have a better option with with this amount of money , let me know.

      Yes , I want it for easier use and travelling without problems, easy for presentations-power point ecc,. But yes, I will take my laptop to work everyday.

      For sure. Then the Dell Inspiron i7359 laptop better suits your needs compared to the HP laptop. (main factor 13inch size)

    Hi Chris, are you 100% sure it can be upgraded to 16gb ram? I asked dell twice and they told me I cant.

    • @Chrisshao
      @Chrisshao  8 років тому

      It cannot upgrade to 16GB RAM. Dell is right, the laptop only has one slot for RAM.
