I vote NO to buying any of the Arrma brushed vehicles. Safe to say we all know what's under the hood of those. Get the brushless versions of the granite/typhon/Kraton/outcast
Bryson Kuhn The brushed Mega line was not equipped to accept brushless motors. You had to buy input gears and motor mounts and such to make it brushless. The version 3’s are now going to have brushless ready internals.
Arrma people don't want to hear about brushed ARRMA RC. WAIT for the new ARRMA brushless 3s to come to market. You'll piss too many off if you buy an Arrma that doesn't represent anything current or brushless. Buy what you want but expect comments to praise ones you didn't buy. People seem to like all the brushed 3s RC.
Get the Arrma Typhon 3S brushless, a true rc car beast. I own 6 Traxxas rc cars and I prefer my Arrma collection. I have the Big Rock, Typhon and Senton. I did own a Kraton, which I drove into the ground. The Kraton was my favorite RC Car of all time. However, my current favorite RC car is the X Maxx......just so much fun to drive and bash (I mean crash into things LOL).
the closest hobby shop to us has transitioned from mostly Traxxas stuff to mostly Arrma and Axial stuff. I do not know if it was an issue with supply, but the hobby shop guys liked the Arrma stuff better, or so they said. I have not had an Arrma product, but have seen several run in the Novice class at the track and the RTR stuff breaks on a 1/8 track just as much as a stock Traxxas does. If I started mixing brands I would have to standardize on a battery connector so that I could use common batteries between them.
Get 3s brushless senton or any brushless arrma, fairly cheap hard to break, axles screws do back out .but don't break .my hoss axles broke second run ,but I did expect they would.
I would stay away from Arrma’s 3S line up until their recent upgrades have been proven to fix the problems they had , leaky shocks , spur gears chewing themselves up, brittle a arms, sloppy steering, I had a Typhon 3S and a Senton mega I got rid of them.
You'll like the Arrma Senton 4x4 it handles better then the Slash does out of the box and the electronics are of better quality on the newer ones. Also adjusting the slipper clutch is way easier on the Arrma. The motor and slipper come out as one unit instead of taking the whole back end off the slash to make a simple adjustment.
Drop in a hobbywing max10 combo for $100 , you will be happy and very satisfied . The brushed models are all set up for brushless. I currently own the Senton v3 and Granite v3 . Way better versions than previous .
Buy the 6s version of the Typhon, you can always run it on 4s, brushless all the way if you can still find a SENTON 6s get it , its a beast , Arrma is killing it again this year, Just got a Losi Lazzwernut U4.
Arrma is awesome but don't bother with the mega versions just pickup the BLX versions. They will have the Brushless systems and things like the adjustable turnbuckles and better parts, etc... Make sure for the 3s and 4s line that you pickup the V3 with the new spectrum radio!
Yes the arma typhon 550 is a fantastic little 1/8 buggy. It was my first car and right now I have it converted to a brushless and I love it, it’s fast stock and it has 3 speed modes. My brushless version now goes 50 mph, would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a first car and or someone who wants an upgrade project since it’s the easiest Car I have ever worked on. (Worked on an Xmaxx, Kraton and losi buggy’s)
Traxxas is better. And more reliable. And u can upgrade things. Who cares how much more or cost. It is still with it. Don't worry I am not a hater on Arrma's part.
You can upgrade the arrmas too, the thing is you don't need to, the only traxxas i buy are the trx, everything else is outclassed by other brands and for less money too
All the brushed version are terrible. The electronics are trash, esc overheats in just two battery packs (stock included batt) and motor burnt out in a week. I ended up putting the traxxas titan motor and esc from the slash units in. After that no issues since. I love the body styles tho
A.few other issues. Quality control, there is none. Poor alignments, wrong parts. Example; my typhon had 3 front shocks! No joke BUT on the other hand. Their service department is awesome! They sent me all new replacement unit for all my issues by the next week.
I started with traxxas back in 2016. I just got an arrma senton and almost immediately wished I had went with them first. To be fair to traxxas, they definitely had more of the market back when I was first looking.
I do want to see side by side performance comparison between Slash & Senton. Whether brushed or brushless. I have the 2wd brushed Slashes(Kids each have one). Couldn’t afford brushless at the time. They’ll get brushless set ups soon. But I am real curious to see how Senton and Slash compare on the track Box Stock. DO IT
What you don't understand Mark, is that it's very cool for Arrma to make multiple rcs from essentially the same chassis or an identical chassis. It's only a bad thing when Traxxas does it, even when they change it more. You'll learn this eventually.
Not too interested in the brushed Arrma stuff, but I would be interested in a comparison of the Granite BLX and the Hoss...*EDIT* on second thought it would be cool to see a comparison of the brushed Slash 4x4 and the brushed Senton 4x4 to see if they perform as comparably as they look.
I would say, don’t get the brushed Typhon. I have one, I love it, but it is an entry level Rc and I am a noob. You don’t need one. Get the Senton tho. I want to see your thoughts on it.
For the ones saying brushless is the way to go. I still think there's a spot for the brushed systems for sure. It saves people who just want to try it out money I mean if you were sure would you wanna spend 220 and find out on you dont like it or spend almost 500 and never get close to your money bacn
If your going to try one then get the new EXB model it’s upgraded out of the box and you add your electronics and motor so you could go with a brushed or brushless setup or do both.
Go with the brushless Typhon 3S BLX (brushless). I did change out the servo and radio/receiver. It is even better. I will take it to the track, once my tires are in.
If your going to buy a arrma Typhon buy the 6s brushless version. I have one and it’s insanely durable. I have hit a tree going 40+ mph and nothing happened. I know it’s more money but it’s so fun.
We have a 1/8 scale outdoor track, just picked up a timing system and started some organized racing this year. I have been been racing a Talion and Typhon 6S. Upgrades radio/servo of course and tuned for racing. They are surprisingly very good on the track with the proper set up. I am normally 1-2 laps on the field in a 10 min main still. I’m debating on some off season upgrades or just getting a Tekno now. Most of the guys have changed over to TLR, Mugen and Tekno now. I would love to hear your thoughts of a Typhon 6S on a track.
Could u pls make a remake vid on nitro vs electric voicing ur opinion and what your currently using and what you’ll be using long term... pros and cons of both. I’m just stuck in a loop right now trying to get into this hobby and I don’t know what I like more
Mark I need some advice. I traded for a rustler 2wd but it needs chassis front end stuff and rear end shocks are shot so it needs those. Should I just buy new are can I rebuild it for less money?
I have Traxxas and Arma. A Slash and a Senton. I like both vehicles but I like my Senton more. Actually the stock motor in the senton is pretty impressive. I think you will like the senton.
i definitely recommend trying the arrma stuff, the shop i work at sells a lot of both and arrma’s brushed/3s platform comes in WAY less often than their traxxas counterparts. they’re built beefier but they are sadly a bit harder to do maintenance on
i see all these comments about how you should get the brushless instead of the brushed but i literally cant afford the brushless because shipping and i cant get any traxxas models because they dont ship outside ireland
I had the Arrma Senton and a few Slash models. On a dirt track the Slash is way better. It handles better the suspension handles the bumps and jumps better. That's just my opinion. All three Arrma's I have/had also seem to stall when you first take off. Changed out the radios and it's still cogging. Gonna try a motor and ESC change next. That pressed shock you talked about kept popping out on my Senton. Replaced twice in a month. Arrma is also heavier than the others. I have the Big Rock and the Granite with some Badlands and I love the Granite!! The Granite is definitely one of my favorites. Ended up selling the Senton. Can't wait to get a Hoss though!!!! I'd like to try a 6s Kraton to compare with my Erevo 2.0 someday. Arrma has good products at good pricing. Maybe some ESC, motor and radio improvements and they'd be better in my opinion. Me personally I like Traxxas products the best. They're smoother, quieter, better electronics, handle better and really the rest is just plastic!!! I'm no expert but this is just my experience with them.
is it possible that charging the stock battery contained in the package takes a long time? mine has been charging for almost 10 hours and the green LED on the wall charger of the package never came out but it always remained red; normal?
don't do it. I bought my kids 2 sentons (brushed) and 1 brushless. The shocks aren't good and leak all the time and the servos don't hold up. The rest of the truck is very durable though. They take a pretty good whooping...
Hi !! I am newto all of this racing Haven`t got a vehicle YET !!! You didn`t answer question previous video that i watched of many you did . I understand about the transponder counts your laps, But what happens when car flips over a barrier and puts you ahead of the other racers .Is there a penalty or some thing?? Thanks
Get the arrma 3s or 4s i have the Kraton 4s and that thing is crazy fast. My brother just got the Typhon brushed and it’s not to bad just can’t mess with set up much. But new tie rods and a brushless system and you got a 1/8th E buggy for around 3 something
Arrma does shortened things alot it's pretty normal I use to be a traxxas fan boy but now I love arrma waaay more. The outcast can use kraton parts and talon arma and other things I personally think it's a good idea since then they can raise prices on certain parts like traxxas.
Where is know if you watched any of Kevin Talbots videos you'll know that every time you buy arma you have to buy parts with your Arma when it's brand-new because you're going to break it on the first try
I think it's worth it, to compare the models and then prices. ex. like you said side-by-side brushed slash v senton. but then also, brushed slash v senton 4x4 3s because they are the same price. and then further up, if you want. slash ultimate v Arrma 6s lineup
I have a 4wd slash which was my first sct. Next for me is probably the slash 2wd bandit armed street race car 🏎 I think that will use up some spare time. I’d like to see you build a streetcar
I am more of a traxxas RC type but for the reason that you say that's what's in my area part availability and customer service is awesome. also been looking into other brands instead of getting the stampede I been thinking about getting the granite 4×4 brushless v3
Mate just get the senton 3s blx, i have one for 6 month and it gets beat up on skate park every weekend and it is still holding on with everything stock, plus it costs 120 euros less than the equivalent traxxas, the only thing that is not that great are the shocks , they leak a bit but everything else is 5stars and super easy to do maintenance
You should get the Senton and compare them. But, I agree with the other posters, get the brushless. Arrma might surprise you. I was one of the first to get a Slash when it came out and was available. The only reason I bought the Slash was because Traxxas created a new class that looked realistic. I prefer vehicles that look scale. I quickly sold my Slash and bought the Traxxas Slayer when it became available. I still have my Slayer to this day. Then Arrma came out. They are less expensive for basically the same vehicles! (Slash vs. Senton, XO-1 vs. Felony/Infraction/Limitless, etc.) Traxxas nickels and dimes you for upgrades like TQi, chargers for their proprietary batteries, etc. I feel Arrma doesn't do that. You get everything you need to run out of the box. I own only one Traxxas product, the Slayer. Everything else I have is Arrma, Kyosho, or RedCat. Arrma is growing. My local hobby shop went from a Traxxas supplier to Arrma/Spektrum supplier. They still sell Traxxas, but most of the stock is now Arrma. Give it your honest opinion. If you still prefer Traxxas, that's OK too. I just personally think that Traxxas feels they have cornered the market of RC so they can set the price to what ever they want. And people will pay for it. Arrma's ball is rolling, and I don't see it loosing any momentum anytime soon.
Hey Mark have you ever tried out anything by red cat racing. I’m 45 and have had R/Cs for a lot of my life, my 1st car was the gold chassis RC10, and my 2nd and still probably my all time favorite was the Team Lois JRX2. The last R/Cs that I owned were a couple Team Losi XXX/NT, I thought I really had to have a nitro car to have a fast car, after many of frustrating nights and many expensive trips to the hobby store I retired from the RC game about 2010. With nothing but time on my hands in March- May I got bored and rejoined the hobby with a RedCat Racing Landslide XTE which is a RTR 1/8 scale 4s 4x4 monster truck. I bought everything through amazon because everything local was closed, I got the RTR truck, which is basically truck and radio, I bought a HTRC T240 DUO charger and 4 ZEee 2s batteries and a Zeee fire proof battery bag all for just under $500. This has probably been the best $500 that I have spent in years. The truck is fast to me for out of box stock, it’s really easy to work on, parts seem to be easy to get and fairly cheap. When I was originally looking I wanted the RedCat Kaiju but were sold out everywhere and is $100 more and is a 6s truck. Overall I’m very happy with the truck and excited about the hobby and amazed how easy everything is to use compared to my original RC10 day and Nitro days. I also wanted to say that me stumbling onto your channel is what made me wanting to try the R/C world again and I’m starting to look into buying another car but not sure what. I really enjoy your channel and I like that this is a family thing for you guys. Thanks for letting me hog some of your time. JASON
I'm 49 & just got back into RC about 3 yrs ago. I too started with a "TA Gold Chassis" back in the early 90's...a buddy bought 1 & as soon as I drove it, I was hooked, went out & bought 1. Got out of it a few yrs later, wish I had never given that car away, I had so many motors. lol. Anyway, when I thought about getting back into it I did alot of research, thank God for the internet, but after many months of researching, I settled on the Traxxas Slash 4x4 Ultimate & I haven't regretted it one bit. I'm looking to buy another one in the near future, I love Traxxas but I'm thinking of an Arrma Typhon. Good luck with your next purchase & have fun.
I say no on the brushed Typhon stick with what works you already race the best. I would like to see a comparison on the slash brushless and Senton brushless.
Try an Arrma, but skip the brushed and go for a 3s (BLX) version. Any style (granite, Senton, typhon or big rock crew cab) would be nice to see on your channel. Keep up the good work! Love your channel.
Definitely stay away from the brushless. It’s not that they are bad, but they are really geared toward beginner drivers that are getting into the hobby. The brushless ones are well built and very fun out of the box.
Wait...the wall chargers traxxas used to include were basically useless because they take hours to charge a battery. At least the traxxas DC or "car" charger is a fast charger. I honestly think that Traxxas wanted to improve the RTR charging experience, but not to the point that customers wouldn't have to buy a better charger down the road...without upping the price anyway. Another thought is that if you go with your kids out to a field to run... you can take a dead battery to your car to charge, that's convenient.
I vote NO to buying any of the Arrma brushed vehicles. Safe to say we all know what's under the hood of those. Get the brushless versions of the granite/typhon/Kraton/outcast
I'm not an arrma fan so I don't know. What's wrong with them.
Bryson Kuhn The brushed Mega line was not equipped to accept brushless motors. You had to buy input gears and motor mounts and such to make it brushless. The version 3’s are now going to have brushless ready internals.
John Sharpy Nice! How do you like it so far? Planing on getting the wide kite for it???
@@mrkevinmbarry thank you. Didn't know that
Brushless arrma please!!!!!!!
Don’t buy the brushed. Only the brushless. It has metal adjustable turnbuckles and better spur and slipper. A wonderfully designed platform overall
You will be more impressed with the brushless Arrma 3s models than the brushed models IMO. Those will hit shops in a few weeks
Compare traxxas ultimate vs senton 3s blx
You need to get the brushless typhon and Arrma 3S models
I agree. It might be my next car and the more review I see, the more I want one.
i agree but wait for the V3
Amen
Amen

They all come in the 3s platform. So get a 3s! The senton does go 60 mph on 3s out of the box. I love mine. Yes get one and try it.
Arrma definitely better. I was all traxxas for many many yrs now arrma has stepped up and made amazing cars trucks and more there amazing.

My wife has a Senton 3s 4x4 and it is the business!
I had to upgrade my stock slash 4x4 heavily just to catch up
If you decide to get a Typhon, might as well go all out and get the 6S BLX version!

Comparing both brushed models makes perfect sense most parents will start their kids off with brushed rtr's anyways.
Buy the senton mega its already brushless ready on the v3 exept the clutch btu it will still work on brushless

I ordered the Typhon 3s V3 model, but won't get it until late September. Stoked!
You should get a 6s Armma and put a m2c chassis and you have a ripper
I bought the Typhon 4x4 Mega and after the 1st run I upgraded it to a brushless system. Go brushless for sure.

Super interested in seeing that!
Trust me you will appreciate how the Arrma's handle and perform.👍🏼💯 Brushless
If you get a Arrma Typhon get the Brushless 6s with pinon change that comes in the box. 72mph
don't do it. I bought my kids 2 sentons (brushed) and 1 brushless. The shocks aren't good and leak all the time and the servos don't hold up. The rest of the truck is very durable though. They take a pretty good whooping...

I think it's worth it, to compare the models and then prices. ex. like you said side-by-side brushed slash v senton. but then also, brushed slash v senton 4x4 3s because they are the same price. and then further up, if you want. slash ultimate v Arrma 6s lineup
If you are going to get the typhoon get the brushless version
Buy the brushless ones. The brushed ones are a hassle to upgrade to brushless. Especially with the newer v3 ones go with the brushless
Ik im late but... I would go with the typhon 3s BLX because if you try to put brushless in the typhon 2s you will have major gear problems
What was that big truck next to the Maxx that was red and white?
I have a 4wd slash which was my first sct. Next for me is probably the slash 2wd bandit armed street race car 🏎 I think that will use up some spare time. I’d like to see you build a streetcar
Is best Arrma granite voltage 2wd
Senton 6s brushless is a beast
I am more of a traxxas RC type but for the reason that you say that's what's in my area part availability and customer service is awesome. also been looking into other brands instead of getting the stampede I been thinking about getting the granite 4×4 brushless v3
Hey mark can u do a video on the beat affordable replacement wheels buggys, 4x4s, etc...
Felony/Infraction/Limitless, etc.)
Traxxas nickels and dimes you for upgrades like TQi, chargers for their proprietary batteries, etc.
Don't get that typhon, the 6s is more what ud be after
Hey Mark have you ever tried out anything by red cat racing.
Red cats are junk.
Do the slash vs senton challenge on track I just bought the arrma senton 4x4 blx for racing this year!
get the typhon 3s blx v3, dont get any mega. looks like old granite not the v3?
Great Comparison SMASHED !!!!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Definitely get the brushless 3s models. Brushless!
U should review the Senton v3 brushless
I say no on the brushed Typhon stick with what works you already race the best. I would like to see a comparison on the slash brushless and Senton brushless.
Agreed. That would be the best comparison to do.
Try an Arrma, but skip the brushed and go for a 3s (BLX) version. Any style (granite, Senton, typhon or big rock crew cab) would be nice to see on your channel. Keep up the good work! Love your channel.
OH COOL! I was disappointed! I thought you left empty handed?! Can’t wait to see what you bought!
I would recomend getting a typhon 6s, its a BEAST
Rather than compare brushed vs brushed, you could do $320 4WD short course trucks, which would be brushed Traxxas vs brushless Arrma.
The arrma senton is good I got one but I'm going to upgrade brushless soon
Try out the 3S Typhon, which is brushless, to see how it does.
Get the 3s v3 version if you get any of them
Definitely stay away from the brushless. It’s not that they are bad, but they are really geared toward beginner drivers that are getting into the hobby. The brushless ones are well built and very fun out of the box.
How do you find R/C bashing events? That sounds like a blast!!
get the Arrma 1/8 NOTORIOUS 6S BLX 4WD i have and its great fast and fun
Wait...the wall chargers traxxas used to include were basically useless because they take hours to charge a battery. At least the traxxas DC or "car" charger is a fast charger. I honestly think that Traxxas wanted to improve the RTR charging experience, but not to the point that customers wouldn't have to buy a better charger down the road...without upping the price anyway. Another thought is that if you go with your kids out to a field to run... you can take a dead battery to your car to charge, that's convenient.
I almost pulled the trigger on a brushless Typhon....then went all in and got the E-Revo 2.0 to compliment my slash 4x4 :D
