NOTE: if you're doing this technique in v49 (version 49 of the game), dont jump off too close to the left of the rock, as you will die to fall damage. instead, just lean a little bit more to the right. the reason why i didnt die in this video is because i was running the game on v45, a previous version in which fall damage was more lenient.
If you jump at good timing you can make a small jump in the air that cancels the fall damage (the jump takes a little while but as long as you are on a surface when you touch The jump key will jump in the same way
@@eyehair true, but I found that if you jump to the higher part on the side of the ship as soon as the doors open and then to the rock you take no damage
I'm attempting q10 runs this summer and while im in school i decided i'd just practice strats with the free time i have,, this will probably be a major timesave so thank you for that
For q10 you should probably take the safer route even if it loses you some time, q10 means you'd have to wander very far into the facility and potentially have to fight thumpers or spiders. When you have to do 30 consecutive successful runs safety is worth more than the 20 second time save you get from it.
@jedifromhell yeah this is true, especially later into a run. if you're close to finishing a q10 run and you're too scared to take damage, just do normal route lol
if you dont open the door instantly, u lose about ~1.5 seconds on average, which rlly isnt a big deal if you're just casually speedrunning or doing 10q / high quota runs. however, if you're looking to go for super low times/wr or playing 1q runs, opening the door is a good timesave
@@macalopo I started playing in late dec, I always liked to get out early for no reason, I jumped out of assurance too but was curious if I can make it on the big rock so I tested it out recently and found out it worked, never new you can open the door though. Thanks for the new info./
doesnt matter if its under 10 seconds, that right there is good enough, it takes like an entire 8 maybe over 10 seconds to land the ship and then show the time
Oh interesting that i see this one, Actually seen one of the people i played with do this strat before like lets say 7 days or so ago when we where doing runs. Now i know where he got it from. W find.
the way to not take damage whilst doing this is to jump towards the top of the rock instead of the bottom, however when you dont take damage, you will not get the added stamina along with it, which slows down the run by around 6 seconds.

Taking damage is the only bad part about it because you become an easier target for thumpers and bunker spiders
If you jump at good timing you can make a small jump in the air that cancels the fall damage (the jump takes a little while but as long as you are on a surface when you touch The jump key will jump in the same way
as i said to the other guy, in speedrunning this isnt really ever an issue
@@carlj7466 its called a speedrun. Not a "im gonna sit around and gather loot"run. The intention is to be fast and maximize profit for irl time.
my guy its only assurance

wow, that's amazing, gonna try this and die like 10 times before I get it right 😂

damage boosting in a game where you don't get a speed boost on hit... I like it!
there isnt a speed boost but ur stamina does reset which saves about 5-6 seconds
@@macalopo yea that's what I meant, it's really creative!
@@SmubFinger ah ok sorry im dumb lol
@@macalopo no need to apologize you explained it better
Holy shit dude i didnt even notice it was you this video was good
You can do it without opening the door yourself too, but it's quicker to do so. I've made it a few time's and consider to do this every time lol

Didnt know of that door tec, really cool
I've seen the version where you jump off at the corner of the railing, but never a quick door open and run off like this
idk why i clicked on this video i will literally never use this but cool to know nonetheless
I've seen someone do this without taking any damage before, is there any way to replicate that consistently?

So can you do it without taking fall damage?
