It reminds me of Funkadelic music since a lot of sounds and the way the singing and choir singing is performed is like what Funkadelic did. The song "Riot" even samples the guitar solo from their song "Good To Your Earhole". The singing in this song here sounds totally like from their song "Can You Get To That". Even the cover artwork is heavily inspired by their album "Maggot Brain".
This album could have been called "Daddy, What's a Funkadelic?" Beautiful.

I think the break from rap is good, not every day rap. perhaps I listen to too much of it, but for me this is a welcome break from the tool that is rap.
Micah Louth that's what I'm saying. Coming from a strictly hip hop background and listening to Gambino for so long, I feel like this is exactly what the game needed. A artist mainly known for hip hop showing that you don't have to keep doing the same thing over and over. I wish more artists would switch it up and bring back real instruments instead of all the 808s and piano loops.

A lot of people angry over the opinions over Gambinos new sound. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of it ,but at the end of the day. It's a form of art. It's beautiful in it's own nature.
This is genius. People call it garbage because they were expecting some same old rap trash. This is far superior in terms of musicality and originality. (Even though it is heavily inspired by Parliament/Funkadelic).
