As a massive fan of the original, agree entirely - this cover is probably the best I've ever heard of any of their stuff. As a side note I wish they would release a remaster of The Real Thing - the CD recording technology back in 1989 was all quietened down and rounded off cos of idiots who thought "digital" music would slash speakers.

@Cyrillion He doesn't use them to enhance his vocals, they're vocal effects & they make his voice give off weird noises at the same time. Auto-tuning is something that enhances your vocals. Mike deserves the credit he gets.
I expected to come in and leave negative feedback (this is one of my favorite FNM songs), but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very well done heavy version of this song

FTM influenced generations of bands. including ill nino. hence they covered this song. i hope you can understand that concept. whether or not you LIKE a band you should understand it IS in fact good music to someone. You just dont happen to like it. for example i dont care for ill nino very much. but they are good at what they do and they have alot of fans. i can respect that.
Actually they didn't remove the bass part (I had to turn it up to hear it) but they did add drums to the intro and that right there messed with the brilliance of the intro to the song.

@anormalnick ok-ok, agreed but FNM never was "a band from the '80s", they were a band that has made a lasting impact on the development of rock music by creating unique music. that's why FNM is legend and their music stil works! (not to mention the massive fan base of Mike Patton's insane voice, literally insane...)

They use a hell of a lot of phasey reverb on this especially on the vocal and guitar. I'm not sure if I like the way it sounds on the quiet parts. The heavier bit works out ok tho'.

You wouldn't crucify a guitarist for using them either. Of course if by "enhance" you only mean 'turn pig-squeals into something sort of resembling actual singing' aka autotune, he doesn't do that.

I agree with madamico. Chino has a great voice, no doubt, but there's no one like Mike Patton and FNM was/is one of those one-of-a-kind bands that everything they put out was magical. This cover is decent same as Disturbed's but honestly, bands shouldn't been covering FNM.
