Every time I see these endings they are so heart-opening. Not only are they a formidable collective creatively, they are also friends who have been able to stay together, through mutual respect and recognition, all these years. Much love and respect.
Their peak was definitely the late days of Lateralus to even the early days of 10,000 days. Adam, Justin, and Danny have gotten better, but Maynard’s voice just isn’t the same anymore and he’ll admit it too. He uses a lot more effects nowadays to get through some of their songs and it’s lost a lot of power it once had. They’re not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m just glad I saw them during the early days of 10,000 days when Maynard was still somewhat “young.” They were obviously on absolute fire from Opiate to Aenima but I still think that fire was there during their early touring days of 10,000 days because I was there to see and hear it live. Back before Maynard was using the “megaphone scream” trick to sing through Ticks and Leeches for example, so, I do acknowledge their talent in the very early days, but it was still there during the early 2000’s.
@@rubaidaallen2764 Adam, Justin, and Danny definitely have. Even in terms of lyrics, I’d say Maynard had too, but I’m strictly talking in terms of live performance. There’s just no argument to be made, even Maynard has said publicly that his voice isn’t the same anymore.
@@jambi5096 30+ years of screaming will do that definitely. I saw Tool 3X on the FI tour and MJK sounds really good but compared to when I saw them in 2001/02 and APC in 2000, yeah MJK'S voice is no longer the same.
