This music more than awakens the soul it rises life, brings you back, takes you along...and when you dance to it the world stops, melts, recombines and refreshes your life. Thanks guys and Kim!
I could watch this a million times and it would never be enough. If contra were a drug, this is the point of no return, no intervention will help, you are hooked :)
Magical weekend... just magical. And the slow shots on those fantastic faces at the beginning and the end (lots of Toronto dancers!!) was pure genius. Beautiful job!!
I have danced to live musicianship of Nils (2006? Phoenix homecoming) and Noah (April 2018, Mesa, AZ) … this Big Bear Trio dance is thrilling to say the least.
Saw these folks many years ago in Rochester, NY. Have not forgotten the amazing feeling of listening to their music. Well illustrated with this piece. Thanks!
Classic! Gold! I have a 'boot camp' workout - 3 sets, each incorporating six multi-facet exercises, 12 reps each. It's not easy. I've selected a special dance tune for each set. For the third and final set, I use GBG's B's Hallucinations. It never fails to lift, inspire, motivate and drive. And, being a long-time dancer, it always reminds me of what it feels like 'fly' in a dance hall.
John-Michael Seng-Wheeler and company, and Great Bear Trio nailed it again! Beautiful video, wonderful music. It captures contradancing, the flavor, feel and joy. Thank you!
John-Michael Seng Wheeler, you ARE the BEST! Superb! (but then look what you have to work with, also superb!) I know immediately you had put this together!
Yes,yes,YES!! The first time I danced to this group and they pulled out a didgeridoo I was launched into Contradance Bliss Heaven. Henry Ford--do look what your tight-assed racist philanthropy has wrought (although perhaps even he will appreciate the "jazziness" of it all and not roll in his grave but DANCE there)!
This practically brought me to tears watching and remembering... When will we be able to dance together like this again?!
God, I know! I miss Contra /so much/. ;_;
DO IT!!
This is simply the best movie online at this moment for explaining the excitement of contra dance.
I've Watched this so many times and still Get Chills Of Delight every time !!!
It's probably one of the best videos I've seen on contradance it really can't convey how much fun it is to be out there dancing good music
This is the one I send to someone when I am convincing them to try for the first time.
I agree. I am very impressed with every aspect of this video.

Always awesome. Its great to see Momma Bear wailing on the organ

I very much enjoy watching people smiling, dancing and having fun w/ each other
WOW!! That lifts my spirit in this time we need spirit lifting.
I could watch this a million times and it would never be enough.

Awesome, I had forgotten about this group, but was so impressed when I saw them years ago.

Awesome Video, It should have more than a million views by now!
Nils Fredland, caller extrordinaire, also playing trombone here! Just about perfect! Contra heaven, indeed.

Just about the best contra dance video I've ever seen. Please let us know who filmed and edited it!

Was this filmed at Bryson? I don't think so, but it looks like it might have been.
Does this event still happen, or did I miss that train?
Unfortunately, Great Bear has disbanded.
Needs drums
