Saw Robert Plant at Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC in 2011. Yes, the Rock God performed at one of the biggest Bluegrass festivals in the US. He's a humble guy. Gave credit to Ms. Krauss for teaching him a new way of singing. He also talked about his love of Americana, Appalachian music and how he choose THE best Bluegrass musicians to tour with him. I loved him even more.

I know that no one will ever read this but I need to say it. This album is PERFECT. And unlike other perfect albums, of which there are a few, this one sounds like it was really fun to make.

They sound great together and what a fun video. Alison always sings beautifully. But Robert Plant is mesmerizing. Such a talented vocalist since the Led Zep days and he continues to put out music that makes me want to listen. There is something very intriguing about him that draws you in. He definitely has that rock star charisma.

This collaboration of Plant and Krauss proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that country/bluegrass and rock can share the same stage seamlessly.
It all comes from the same geographic area really. Country, skiffle, rockabilly, rock and roll, blues... it's different but intrinsically connected.
It is quite wonderful to see two happy people creating a new Wonder for the wo😂rld.
One of the coolest things ever was meeting her in a Cracker Barrel in Nashville many years ago! 😊

@@darkcwboy Yes, me too! I saw that earlier today when I was checking out Robert Plant's website about any updates for his new tour schedule. It makes mention of that when it said that no U.S. tour dates have been scheduled saying one of the possible delays is that Robert and Alison are working on a new album together. Check out his website. Yep, I love them both! I will soon be 71 years old and started playing guitar when I was 12 years old. I grew up in the wilds of Kentucky and when there were festivals of any kind ( like Possum Day or whatever ) all the pickers would come out of the mountains to play. So when I started playing guitar, that's how I learned, by standing in front of them and watching what they were doing. Those old pickers were great. If it had strings they could play it! My favorite genre is Rock, but I love any music if it's good. By watching those guys way back then, I developed a picking style that most other Rock guitarists didn't do. That is, using a flat pick held between the thumb and 1st finger and then picking with the other fingers. Or simply not using any picks at all and just pure finger picking. But years later that style was discovered by other Rock guitarists like Jeff Beck among others.

She can make anyone sound better, her voice is brilliant. Robert plant is obviously an amazing vocalist in his own right, and she carry’s his voice beautifully on this album. I’ve always been a huge fan of both, so I was super happy when they came out with this.

The magic they produce on this album is rare and glorious. I’m not a big country fan but adore and respect Ms. Krauss tremendously. Just amazing how these two made such special music together.
I agree, though she is more blue grass than country but their voices work together so very well.
To me Alison Krauss & Union Station are one of those artists that transcend their genre. The whole Paper Airplane record is just so good that I don't care what genre it falls into. I agree that she is more pop-bluegrass than country though
There is "Country" and there is "Bluegrass" - Alison is the "Bluegrass" version of Linda Ronstadt - nothing she can't sing.

Listen to Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin and then this song and you’ll see how much talent Robert has. It doesn’t matter what genre he’s singing, he will always have one of the most recognizable voices in history.

If I ever heard this song omg the radio and it wasn't told who was singing it I would never know this is Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin !!! And, I have followed Zeppelin since day one !!!
No doubt Plant is one of the truly great rock singers of all time. I've never been one to say the greatest, because it's all opinion. Plus, Roy Orbison, Freddie Mercury, Paul Rogers, Ian Gillan and a few others deserve to be mentioned in that upper tier of greatest rock singers.
They really matched voices so well.

@@bastrixer Thanks Jimmie! Yeah, it seems as though these types of collaborations are often a one-time event, eh? Haha; Robert likely does not sing a song the same way twice. I wonder if these guys do as many drugs as the old days? I think that years of use and abuse builds up, and once in the bloodstream affects the cognitive abilities of their brains. Plus, the guy is even older than I am; lol! 😄

Did I see T bone Burnett there on the guitar. Robert Plant and Allison Krause are a very good match for this rockabilly song. I already knew that Robert Plant liked this type of music. Allison Krause has the voice of angel and it worked well in this song along with Robert Plant. being as I really like rockabilly music for me this is AWESOME.
Enough about Alison and Robert ! T-Bone Burnett with producing this awesome guitar ,fiddle ,mandolin ,,steel guitar etc is the very best blended sound I've ever heard being a true blue grass music lover ! It's very easy to see why Robert Plant traveled to Nashville with making the most successful switch ever from the Rock & Roll world into this blue grass team as it's the very best I've ever heard on a level that's TOPS ! I'm ADDICTED !!

The blend of their voices is a match made in heaven.
Been listening to Allison Krauss ever since she first started. Her voice has never changed. She's always sang like an angel to me. As the singer for the NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND. said of her. Possibly the best female singers on the planet. He wasn't wrong. Plus she's never tried to act like she was better than anyone else. Simple and beautiful.

If you've ever seen Alison live, which I have been privileged to several times, she is self-admittedly a bit of a nerd in the body of a beautiful woman who happens to have the voice of an angel and is an incredible musician and performer, plus producer in the studio. Quite an enigma. Plant is a legend for good reason and I grew up loving Zeppelin with his brand of genius. And we get to see T-Bone taking a bow with that tasty solo, he is usually low key, behind the scenes so that's fun too. I knew this song and album but have never seen this music video until now, it's really great, thank you people who run Alison's YT Channel for posting this.
