Thank you so much for this video… I just received my Saturn S today…Hopefully my prints come out as good as yours..
Enjoy your new printer 👍👍
I just got one and looking forward to printing - thank you for this intro
Let me know how it goes
Thank you, sir. I've been dealing with fdm printers for about a year and am just now thinking about stepping up into sla for the obvious gains in resolution. It's never easy settling on a particular piece of tech based solely on specs. Honest reviews, such as yours, really take the worry out of committing.
You'll love the detail in resin.... Enjoy and thank you for the comment
thanks for the video
Your very welcome 👍
Another great vid Tony also gotta say i run at 3.5 sec on my time and 40 secs on my bottom layers and it works great for me I think everyone will have different settings based on environments
Absolutely agree, thank you for the comment 👍
Lovely prints. I’m hoping now that the weather is getting warmer around here to set up my Elegoo on the back porch. It’s an enclosed space but is whatever the temperature is outdoors. I’m so paranoid about the fumes around my family and pets, even with venting and air purifiers and everything else. Maybe 3D printing just isn’t for me-I occasionally think about giving all my 3D gear to a friend.
You can buy an air purifier that sits in the cover l. But tbh it may be the resin
You should sell it if it worries you.
The hobby should be fun, if you are worried and feel that it's not for you I understand. You can buy the models across various platforms and maybe just paint them instead. Fdm printers may be another option no fumes of resin or mess on the whole 👍
I see you use rafts for supports. I haven't tried that and use a 40 sec burn time with Sunlu standard grey. I really like your channel. I remember you from Henry's live stream. You were the soft spoken guy. Nice review.
Thank you for the comment 😁👍 Glad you like the channel
Hi, I enjoyed your video, very informative. Can you get hold of spares for this machine, FEPs for example?
Yeah you can easily
Great. So many of these machines are out of date in no time at all. Then the spares part are hard to find. Cheers
I always use fine supports no matter the size of the print even maxing out the mono x capacity just need to dial those settings In
I've had issues in the past with find supports that the model if it's a little large and maybe heavier will not stay supported and falls off uses em on the Saturn and the Saturn S so have used heavy support since also used heavy supports on monox when I briefly owned one and I guess it's that situation of if it works I don't wamt to change it 😁
Thank you for this review. I picked up the Saturn S a couple months ago but have yet to unbox it. The same thing happened when I got my Mars2 pro. it sat for months before I opened it up. But once I did its been going non stop. I'm not sure I can handle have two printers going non-stop... Can I ask where you got that Judge Dreed? The only one I've found is a bust but I would like the full figure
Hiya the link for judge dredd is on one of my shorts.. If you can't find it least me know
@@greedy3d480 Got it, thank you. This should look good with the Judge Death I printed
Really nice results. I'm interested to know why you switched from the water washable resin. Were you becoming dissatisfied with the results?
No not at all just fancied a change wanted to experience the whole printing process.. still do you use water washable got some of it in my Saturn as we speak
Sir, thank you for incredible videos tips etc...im a new owner of an Elegoo Saturn s customer returned printer. The machine itself is good but I have always struggled with the slicer I use (lychee) and configuring supports it has been a real struggle for years. Do you have any tips?
Ah I'm a chitubox guy...sorry never used lychee
Just setup my secondhand Saturn S today. Back to back failures on my calibration prints...stock settings with Standard Elegoo Grey Resin. I wonder if i need to re-home the build plate...
Did you use the leveling paper? I've read that its too thick?
Thanks!
I've used levelling paper.. Also used a small amount of resin in bottom of vat 👍
I left a comment on another video but I'm just wondering if you've had any issues with an odd clunk as the build plate does its first 5 minutes of printing. It doesnt seem to be effecting the prints I've had about 40 prints fine but this clunk doesnt seem right but I can't find any information about it.
I've leveled the plate multiple times using the card and it still happens. Only mod is a standard screen protector like you've done inside the black tape on the screen. Every bolt is tight as far as I can tell.
It's like the build plate is hitting the screen but screen isn't cracked and my 10 layer raft is fine. It does it for like the first 100 layers.
I've noticed that when the build plate lands on the base of the tray first layer there's a kind of slight noise as if it's hitting something but I'm like you I've really leveled it I've even moved the Z axis up a tad and it still does it so I don't think it's anything to worry about especially in my case anyway as all the prints are coming out pretty perfectly
Grazie.
Thank you that is so very kind of you 👍
Hi! Want to order Elegoo Saturn S 4K now. But there are also options like Anycubic Mono X2 and Mono X 6Ks. Should I overpay for Anycubic or better to start with Elegoo Saturn S 4K? I am a 3D sculptor but I have never had my own printer. What do you prefer? Thanks!
I would suggest you check my mono X reviews I sent mine back after it died I would personally stick with elegoo
I'm relatively new to resin printing. I purchased a used saturn s and it printed the test print but when I try a different print it says unknown format. I use the chitu box with saturn as the machine in settings. What am I getting wrong ?
Update the firmware on the printer 👍
Do you only do auto support @ 70 % density or do you need to manual support also?
On the Saturn I will occasionally add a few more
Oooooh it’s still nice and clean lol that won’t last long 😂 the resin and those cases is a nightmare
Lol.. I'm trying very hard to keep it clean
Is that the settings you have that has made all them models I have just got a saturn s
Yes they are
Would you use these settings with let's say a castable resin
I've not used castable resin in afraid sorry... I'm sure a Google search will help.. I think vogman on UA-cam has mentioned casting... I think anyway.. Good luck
why are you whispering?
I'm definately not whispering
Was wondering that myself. Mic audio is way too quiet.
