Ocon isn't the Fastest out of the Two Drivers. Gasly had Heavier parts until recently. Ocon has admitted in his rant..
Esteban didn't make himself any favors with his post-race commentary either. Calling himself a "nice guy" was very awkward and full of sarcasm. If I was a team principal considering Ocon as a driver, that would really put me off. He really needs to just be quiet and play nice.

We sure have all kinds of breakups this year.
Alpine and Ocon are promising to be ugly. Mercedes and Hamilton is getting messier and messier with the passage of time.
Sainz and Ferrari are suprisingly professional. Sauber and Zhou/Bottas show some signs of breaking. And it's easy to forget that Haas and Hülkenberg part ways as well, because there was no obvious strain so far.
Wild how different things can be.
With this one you sense that both parties are not keen on resolving it. At least with Sainz he is trying to make a good impression.
Mercedes and Hamilton has been sinking since "we know the car is bad, please just drive it" if not before then.
Haas and Hulkenberg are quiet so far...no salty messages between the two....
I don't think there will be any bad blood between Hulk and Haas. He has a seat for next year and brings them the best results they can hope for with the car they have.
@@LawVS Bad management on Alpine's side. I think either Luca de Meo has lost interest in Alpine or doesn't know what is really required.

"I'm too nice"
Esteban is only a nice guy if you add " around "nice". Like incels who feel entitled to a relationship because they gave a girl 1 flower, Esteban thinks being a team player once makes him a saint. And just like the incel saying "no more mister nice guy" before doing another school shooting, Esteban just shows his true colours: that he has never been nice.
Which is why the comment threw me...
I have a hard time seeing Ocon driving for another team when he acts like this. Why would any team want to deal with this at all?
I think it shouldn't matter. Mainly focus on performance. But also try to make up a little in the team.
I think he's done in all honesty. He's not making himself marketable at all other than people calling him "The Incredible Sulk" from here on in.
@@Jona-cn3lebut it does matter. His preformances show hes willing to risk the teams entire weekend for very little reward. He is bad for team morale. He is bad for team synergy and a team working together. He is bad for PR. All of that absolutely matters to the success of f1 teams.
@@Jona-cn3leIt matters on several fronts. Bad PR will hurt relationships with sponsors, and depending on these contracts could have financial penalties/withholding. Being a bad teammate will over a season in all likelihood reduce total WCC points. Possibly reducing their year end ranking and performance bonus from F1. That’s tens of millions. If he crashes repeatedly into his teammates by racing them more aggressively then the rest of the field, then he’s causing hundreds of thousands of damage for each incident. @@robotnikkkk001 I think it can be forgiven for forgetting that he's on the grid. I have a feeling that he's gonna be a novelty trivia Driver for the rest of his career. Sometimes it's just like that
Bottas and Berman at Haas is a winner
Does he not realise that other teams are watching this? Doesn't matter how talented he is and how tough his road was to get here, no one wants an entitled brat on their team who can't co-operate. At one point I would've felt bad if he was removed from F1 before drivers like stroll, but now? Good riddance.
Imagine you're a team principal considering Ocon, thinking o well maybe he will learn from this with the serious consequences he is facing. Then you see him show that he is seemingly incapable of changing.
Yeah, it was a great idea to let Ocon and Gasly on the same team, eh?
Real great idea.
You got the feeling that at least Otmar knew what he was doing. Bruno, not so much.
Gasly/Ocon could have been a reasonable or even fantastic combination, if only Szafnauer had still been there... The could have challenged eachother as two competing siblings but now their dad left and their stepdad has a complete different parenting style.
This times 100
Yeah, pretty much everyone called the French civil war from the start lmao
@@LawVS looking at how oblivious he seemed in the Netflix interviews about the problems in the team... doesn't make me feel like he knew what he was doing lol
It's funny, the Kimi 50k per point story is always told as like "no one thought you could score in a Lotus, but Kimi, through sheer driving skill managed to overcome that", when really Lotus just massively underestimated how fast they could develop. In the same time period where Kimi scored about 400 points Romain Grosjean scored 250. Sure he outperformed his team mate, but the car was quite competitive and if he had just performed to Grosjean's level he still would have cost Lotus about 12 million.
He knew what to do
Finally, someone who doesn't glaze and dramatize the story. I love the Iceman, but people present his Lotus stint as if he did the impossible. When in reality, it is just another case of Lotus being Lotus in F1. Lotus has a history of these kind of financial blunders.
Did Romain get the same deal? 50k/point?
@@sambaraka5228 Doubt it
I'm scratching my head which F1 team would even consider taking on a driver thats not a team player ??
And Alpine thought Alonso was 'toxic.' 😅
Prediction: Doohan replaces Ocon before Vegas
Way before that. Probably within the next 3 races
what, Scotty off Star Trek? that's got my vote
Watch the video what he said is that contractually speaking he might not be able to do that. The one area that is not rolled up in the cost cap is driver salaries. If he dumps him before the end of the season, he’s gonna have to pay him as well as the other driver. I sincerely doubt the current team principal has that much credibility left where he can do that. I’m suspecting he’s running on fumes as well. Now, if you’re saying they might bench him for the last two races of the season, contractually speaking I still don’t think they’re going to do it. Because if he has a legal right to race, then it could cost them even more. He’s gonna finish out the season.
@@evonne_oit will absolutely never happen 😂
I hope for mick to be honest
Ocon needs to be more mature, he is pretty fast and is a good guy overall, but he is a bit childish and that makes him lose a LOT, Gasly right now is riding the wave and putting his head down to look the mature one, all Ocon needed to say at the end of the race would be "How close was Gasly to pass Daniel?" ...."OK"
If this stays this ugly, I think Alpine will swallow the $$ hit and kick him out over the summer break.
He really could have just been quiet and finished off the season trying to be as unassuming as possible but nope. I hoped the Monaco debacle and getting fired would at least be a wake up call but it seems he is only doubling down on his prior attitude. Ocon has repeatedly shown he won't change; I have almost zero sympathy if he can't get a seat next year. He's a quick driver but his ego and attitude are so bad I wouldn't blame any team for not wanting his baggage.
Yea, my Sympathy-O-Meter is flat-lined. [\.............]
Imagine being a better driver on paper than some of the others who are competing for seats, getting fired in large part because of your attitude, and still not being able to keep that attitude in check. The impression that gives is you are either incapable or unwilling to change.
I would not have renewed either driver. Start with a clean slate and possibly an actual team principal.
The latter first...
Who knows - maybe Famin is actually seeing if he can get rid of both.
A stable team principal? What an absurd idea, why would renault ever do that?
At this point Renault should just cut their losses and sell everything to Michael Andretti and Cadillac
Nobody is selling their F1 team for the foreseeable future. They're literally "money printing machines" now ... even Alpine (with a ton of B-celebrities throwing money at them like there's no tomorrow ;). Only chance woulda been "Bull Racing" (Jacques Villeneuve) if the FIA had pulled the plug on "owning more than one team" but Red Bull have survived this round of Concord negotiations.
Just forget it - Andretti isn't getting in - especially going to the House of Representatives over this. He signed his F1 team death warrant there.
@@heliumtrophyit was already a death warrant because F1 is a private boys club. They were never going to accept new teams when they can print infinite theoretical value by never selling their spots. Andretti is just doing the right thing by exposing it to the world.
even if Ocon was an insanely impressive and a world class, world renown driver like Hunt or Senna, i'd still find his brand of snark distasteful & unlikeable. To me, it comes across as petulant and pathetic as opposed to free and resilient, far, far from charismatic.
I wonder if the FIA will actually ban Magnussen if he gets to 12 points. Because if they show their famous reluctance to do so, it will kind of give Magnussen a license to drive as crazy as he wants, won't it? And To paraphrase the Monagasque Mumbler: "Jaques Villeneuve is and always will be, stupid."
they're making sure he doesn't even get there, otherwise he would've been banned for his murder attempt on Perez in Monaco already.
@@NeonColored The FIA is so squeamish and inconsistent with regards to license points and it's doling out penalties during a race...sometimes it's too much, sometimes it's not enough, they need to get the stewarding together, too.
Personally I think Alpine simply wanted to see if mr "Nice Guy" was able and willing to follow teamorders.
This is called, " shitting in your own nest " I'd probably get rid of the both of them, there are so many good drivers in the stage wings just waiting for an opportunity.
Ocon is out of his mind atm, angry and what it seems without understanding that most of it is his own fault!
Here's a wicked thought:
What if Bruno Famin isn't so much incapable of controlling his drivers as he is intentionally not controlling them? Ocon going off and doing Ocon things would suit Bruno if he really wants shot of him. Meanwhile he can observe Gasly's behaviour to see if their other 'driver' is actually worth holding on to. Given where -Renault- Alpine is at present now is the time to poke a few bears and see what's what.
I know... hardly the most constructive management style, but how many managers have any of us met whom we would consider good at their jobs?
I think Ocon has become very frustrated after nearly 4 years at Alpine. Who wouldn't be?
I've had an old boss do exactly this!
I remember constantly checkin the news back in 2018 to see if Ocon got a seat, being sad when he didnt, and being hyped to see him back in the grid in 2020. Even when he was getting hate throughout the years, I didnt mind his more selfish tendencies because I think it makes the grid more interesting (same way I feel about Russell). It might be cuz Im Gasly biased but Im really not liking Esteban recently. I hope he stays in F1 (because hes good enough to stay) but he needs to figure out his PR stuff
I’m not as down on Bruno’s stewardship of the team tbh. Inheriting the Gasly/Ocon timebomb, and a team that is/was functionally a laughing stock is a tough sell (clearly because no one wants to touch the job).
Ocon knows this, and to keep pushing the boundaries is irresponsible. The fact he’d gotten away with this before, the team siding with him against Fernando (allegedly), probably emboldened him but that is the fault of the Renault Group itself.
The team is a joke, and has been since rejoining as a works outfit. A massive and successful car manufacturer parked in 5th or 6th place no matter what is astounding
The only F1 driver with a 3 charisma.

Ocon has ruined any chance he has at signing a future F1 contract now. He has shown that he believes himself to be bigger than the team as a whole and no team wants a driver who has such an ego and lacks the skill and consistency to back it up. He isn't a team player and that is a deal breaker for everyone i think.
"No more Mr nice guy"?? Exactly WHEN was Ocon a nice guy?? (much less a Mr.)
He vowed to be nice and then in interviews mentioned he had been "too nice".
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Thanks for the vid as usual!
We can't assume gasly and alpine are completely innocent in any of these scenarios.
Nope. The entire team needs a refresh or Gasly to have a more calming influence.
Alpine got what they wanted.
Instead of getting 2 good drivers, they wanted 2 FRENCH DRIVERS, not saying Gasly is a bad driver but to focus on nationality of drivers to match the nationality of the team was never the smartest idea.
And guess what a Frenchman hates the most after the Brits and Royalties: Another Frenchman.
When has a driver that is not a number 2 driver been cool about giving the place to his team mate and not getting it back? Mr Rice Guy wasnt too happy about it a few weeks ago
I thought Ryan and Rob just invested their "star power" and didn't actually put any money into the team ?
those whole group of investors bought 24% of shares of Alpine so they definitely invested money

In all honesty, i am here for an Esteban Ocon revenge tour
Sadly, Ocon is like old chewing gum on the sidewalk. Unsightly, and a menace to anyone walking on it. And this is why he is not wanted on the grid. He will not be on the grid next year, and for my 2c worth, I am more hopeful for what follows than any possibility he remains on the grid.
I don't understand why people are surprised that ocon and gasly is not working together They are French what do you expect
Where is anyone surprised? Everyone is surprised they even lasted this long without escalating.
I think people were hopeful it would remain calm like it was for most of 2023. Relatively calm.
Esteban and Verstappen at Redbull would be absolute cinema lol
Both were in the wrong but ocon didn’t need to be that petty and salty on the radio it’s like he thinks it’s ocon racing team and not alpine things could get ugly if this continues and could try and sabotage Gasly knowing his treatment of teammates and history with Gasly but I don’t see him at any team because of his attitude bearman doesn’t need a driver who has a reputation of being a bad teammate nico doesn’t need someone with the ego of ocon and same with albon especially Russell him and ocon would never work ocon is in a terrible position

How does Renault not have the money to pay off Ocon, I feel like that should be a bigger story, they’re one of the world’s major car manufacturers.
Honestly, Ocon is not the most crucial person to sack for Alpine. Famin has to go ASAP.
- Just when u thought Ocon had a silencing good race ( & deserving of a DOTD award ) , he came out with such crap behavior

Such disdain , regardless of what he really feel at that time , should be kept within team debriefs and not exposed for radio comms sniping .
Ocon is really not helping himself .
Agreed about the way he handled it! But he did got screwed by the team though
Why was the team order even given though? Why are we mad about a valid criticism
Your attic keeps getting better and better. Well done.
He's going to need to think about whether or not he wants to get fired before the end of the season or be on the gird next year...
He will be fired. (A wild-assed guess, but I'll make it!)
He will not have an F1 drive for 2025. (I feel a little more certain of that.)
I think he's to make an more and more ass out of himself every race until Alpine and/or the FIA removes him from the seat at Alpine and maybe F1 entirely. Maybe being banned from FIA series for awhile, or losing his Super Licence.

Could you post a video of the cost/benefit analysis for teams for each race points and for the jackpot at the end of the season!? For new viewers it would explain a lot and for experienced viewers where each team struggle during the season.
is it that bad to say Alpine should sell to Andretti and Renault to exit for Cadillac. Alpine already have Ryan Reynolds as a investor so make it an American team to boost the American market.
sounds like a rapidly deteriorating and increasingly toxic disturbed employment relationship and Ocon probably willing to play hard ball in a way while having to put himself out there for any future team. How hard is Williams able and willing to play...
Is it too much to ask for F2 race videos too??? Love your content and passion, would honestly love to hear your thoughts on them
I'd say he's on his villain arc, but he was never the good guy.
i think they should sell to andretti . i also think another reason they don’t want andretti and cadillac is because with the booming american market and the absolutely endless cash that cadillac will bring will make more american races and more screen time for the new richest team.
I don't buy that, they can just swap him with doohan, not fire him as such, keep him under the contract but put him in the simulator, to do his racing work there, as long as they pay him for his time at the team, he can't do squat, and doohan would also accept to swap sim withca real car with the sim car wage for this year.
tbf to Esteban, asking him to swap with 3 laps to go to "attack Danny Ric" seemed ludicrous, unless Danny made a mistake there was zero chance of Gasly overtaking him, it felt like a F U from Alpine, but yeah he should have thought about the optics in front of a future employer, the Im so nice comments just augment his current difficult reputation...
idk when folks at Alpine came to the conclusion that bringing two lifetime enemies together on a team would work
More lines from The Room please.
The team pay his wages, do as they say. Anything else is just going to be the biggest red flag to any team he wants to join
Imagine sacrificing piastri and/or alonso for ocon.. Crazy
Don't forget about Kush Maini he just tested an Alpine f1 car and supposedly impressed. Maini could bring a lot of money in Indian sponsors. He also is supposed to have a few more tests in the 2022 Alpine...
Oh yes! That's right. If he can have a good F2 campaign, he could perhaps pip Victor Martins to at least the reserve role for 2025.
At least the WEC team is doing good. Right? They totally didn't have the most embarrasing performance this year
I won't tell you of what I think of Ocon's actions lately.
I'm too nice.
Ocon needs to shut his mouth and drive. Yes, having the team against you is hard, but you know you are out. Go and drive... beat your teammate and do it cleanly and quietly.
What do you stand on to keep your balance up there? Genuinely curious
The actual rungs of the ladder.
Im sorry but i cant really see the idea of both Ocon and team sharing equal fault in all of this. Ocon might act nice outwardly but clearly he has a chip on his shoulder and there is a lot of history as such. If it was all up to him the guy would rather beat his tm8 even if it means he lets four other cars get in front of him and said tm8. He works hard but he acts childish and is disrespectful, thats just that.
i dont know if the crash at monaco was all ocon, he was half a car in front of gasly it was a lot easier for gasly to hold back, instead he let himself be run into barrier, it was ocons corner
Begging for everyone to rewatch the final ~10 laps of the race. Pierre was legitimately fast and attacking Daniel while both had DRS. I 100% believe (and obviously so did alpine) Pierre was going to pass Daniel once he had a DRS advantage. Problem
Is ocon dragged is feet letting Pierre by. Slowed Pierre for almost 2 full laps which brought Pierre out of the DRS zone on Daniel. He finally let him by but between corners making sure he wouldn’t even get DRS on a straight to give him any advantage on Daniel. Ocon completely sabotaged a potential p8 for Alpine and Pierre.
I did see that Pierre was faster than Daniel near the end but Alpine needed to perhaps make the call a few laps earlier.
@@LawVS The way Ocon behaved he would've delayed as much as possible as he did so that he could publicly whine about how everything's not fair, the team sold him a lie and stuff like that. This is the issue. Doesn't matter when Alpine made the call, he would've argued and delayed as much as possible before petulantly giving up the place.
Maybe zhou could go to alpine, he is a renault junior, pretty decent driver, and backing is pretty important nowdays, so he could be very good replacement
Zho s Form is just too bad right now
Plus unproblematic. Alpine NEEDS an unproblematic driver in the other seat. Although pace wise might not be the best choice. From a marketing side though its a great choice. Zhou brings lots of sponsorship money which Alpine probably needs at this point, and also brings Renault some brand awareness in China which I’m sure the parent company would like. Might not be the quick choice but he would at least be the reserved, sponsor friendly team player that they want with prior ties to the team if Doohan by some chance doesn’t get the seat.
@@BODEGAtrashofficial i think zhos pace was very dec at the start of 2022, mqybe he could repeat that
Will Ocon realy land a seat next year? The more it goes the more it looks like the end of his F1 career sadly.
What do you mean, "no more"? When was Estie-Bestie ever "Mr Nice Guy"? 🤣
And it always amazes me how quick Brit tubers elevate "The Daily Fail" to "credible source status" if they can only somehow hype young Bearman a bit... seriously, no sponsor backing to speak of (which, I hear, is a BIG thing for Haas), his "marketability" worth little more than SFA and, as if this isn't bad enough already, he's well on track of getting trashed in F2 by his teammate for the second year running. Oh, and smashing his car into the barriers at the last race weekend was a surefire way to refresh Haas' memories of their recent rookie debacle with Schumacher and Marzipan. No, Haas won't touch Bearman with a bargepole... unless they're desperately trying to prove Einstein's definition of stupidity wrong. 😉
Oh I don't buy that Mail Online article at all. I will wait to hear it from Haas before making comment.

Kimi Raikonen getting 19 million in bonuses for racing well contrasts with Ricciardo getting paid 18 million to not drive.
Dude is a menace lol of all the teammates he had they all end up disliking him haha. The problem is him.
I will always think that drivers like ocon, stroll, zhou, and Sargeant are very unlucky to be in f1 right now
1.Ocon can be a good driver but the media and well the team aren't doing a solid at all (remember ocon gave alpine a win in 2021)
2. Stroll he is very underrated in my books remember he got pole in turkey 2020 and a p2 in monza 2017 quali in very wet and challenging situations but there seems to be hate for realisticly no reason at all.
3. Zhou the team are constly screwing him over with slow pitstops costing him point finishes and now that nico has signed for stake sauber he has a 50/50 of not continuing with the team
4. Sargeant Williams essentially gave him a seat too early so he had no real good performances other than the point in texas last year, then this year they took his car and gave it to alex who crashed is own car to begin with then Williams are giving Logan outdated parts of the car and while giving alex new parts and then now that Williams are looking to have a resurgence in performance for 25 and 26 so Williams are looking for other drivers with better skill so i fear that logans time in f1 is up now.
I’ve heard some rumors about Drugovitch in Audi, Thoughts?
Didnt they make the call to swap quite a but earlier?
Bonjour
Told you, Ocon is a habitual line stepper.
Pierre has maturity in spades, the same cannot be said for Esteban. The only person he should be mad at for his career taking a slow downward spiral is Esteban.
Yes he is more mature but it doesn't mean that anger doesn't come over him sometimes. But true, ocon's red mist spreads.
If someone asks you what a 'brat' is use Ocon as an example. He fits the definition quite well.
Reference from The Room. Nice
Looks good on Bruno Famin after ceremoniously removing Otmar Szafnauer - who he thought could not handle the two French drivers. Otmar may have been the better choice to handle the squabbling Frenchies, after all. Bruno has no idea what he's doing and how to handle a driver's delicate and complicated psyche. Oh well, such is the way with the French - all of them are always right - all at the same time! Just my opinion, yours is welcome.
Raikkonen agreed to take a deal in-order to not bankrupt the team. I think they ended up with a deal around 7-9 million euros in bonuses in the end. Still he put in a shift and the team couldn't keep their promise. Failure is in the Enstone DNA as much as success is. They need to fix the weaknesses, even if it leaves them weaker short termso they can the challenge a comeback.
It's still quite a bloody nose from a deal.
Changing the color base of stills is SUPER annoying.
On the plus side, Alpine are going to get a lot of media coverage. Right now they have a Famin.
Their situation will not get better with poor leadership.
I like the OG title of this video 😊
Off topic. Re Ricardo. I just wonder if he is as promising at RB are claiming at guiding the Team and helping Yuki - Why are other teams knocking at his door. As he is off contract at the end of the year.
Seems that Horner is the only reason he is still racing and that could shatter Liam Lawsons dream and possibly his. Career.
Bias New Zealander by the way
Why would paying off an unwanted driver be bad? I love Danny Ric but that move worked very well for McLaren.
If Esteban is a problem NOW that the entire organization can't wait to get rid of, then why not bite the financial bullet and pay him off to sit the rest of the season out?
How much will that cost? And how much will a place or even two up the Constructor's due to a more... harmonious driver pairing will that mitigate?
It's money that could otherwise go toward investing in the team itself. Their outside investors would rather not be sending their cash into Ocon's pockets.
@@LawVS But isn't that the price of doing business? They're here to see their investments grow. And Reynolds for one seems like a long-term goals kind of guy given how he and his friend dealt with their investment in that football club.
I'm saying that it may be better bang-for-their-buck decision to just give Ocon that money now if it translates to better outcomes even on the immediate term.
Bruno's statement post-Monaco seems like it comes from someplace deep. In any other industry, "consequences" would almost always mean your firing, or at least suspension. Even if in the former they have to give you separation pay.
@@LawVS Or think about it in the case of failed CEOs. Boards and investors have no qualms of giving CEOs a golden parachute worth millions at least, even when that CEO almost bankrupts the company. That's A LOT of investor money given to someone everyone wanted out and out they went.
How is this any different, industry incongruence notwithstanding?
