just built a pc this video popped up whilst I was eating my dinner just something to watch till I realised I didn't peel the sticker off the heat sink like a nob cheers dude your a life saver and you have a new subscriber.
I just received this board today and will be setting it up tomorrow when my new RAM and M.2 drives show up. All 4 of my drives are 2080's. Can you help me figure out how to reattach the heat sinks when I have M.2 slots 1-3 & 5 occupied?
Greetings. The radiator bar does not play if you press it with your finger? There is a small backlash in my board on the left side of the bar.The screw does not tighten until it presses tightly.
Alittle bit late to the release of this video. I was wondering. Is there information on what Sata ports the m.2 slots override? Say, you wanted to fill all the m.2 ports and use a Sata port for, say, hot swap ssd setup.
MSI states that you will lose the use of SATA slot 7 if you utilize M.2 slot #4. This slot is identified as the lowest connection on the right-hand side if you are looking directly at them.
I'm trying to find the specs for the sizes of the 5 M.2 slots. Are all of them 80MM length slots? Trying to figure out the max length they can be before i order my full rebuild.
I don't exactly have the same motherboard, but this still applied to mine, thanks! However, I have a question, I have a SSD WD black, and it seems thicker than most of the others, so I can't place the plaque back on the SSD. Do you believe it would be a problem to leave it in the open, or I should use another SSD? (The extra thickness is an integrated heat sink, so maybe it's fine)
Can you tell me what kind of motherboard can i use for ddr4 ram(4 sticks), m.2 ssd of 1tb each(x2), AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Zotac RTX 4060??? and how much power?
Your best bet is to go to the PCpartPicker website and plug in all your components and it will tell you compatible Motherboards. As well as it will estimate your necessary power supply size.
@@Brovsmtn I'd prefer to keep the nvme drive's own heatsink (if it came with one), and leave the mobo's heatsink. This is how I'm running on my older Z390 - keeping the nvme's own heatsink on. Hope this helps.
Hey thanks for the vid! I've read the nvme mount(s) on MSI 690 boards are coming off. Any info on this, and how to fix? This is the only reason I'm holding off buying this specific (and / or MSI Edge Z690 DDR4) mobo - fearing I won't be able to use the PCI gen 4 slot at all.
Sometimes when multiple slots are present, using a single slot will run at x4 , but when using multiple slots , each slot will run at x2 , also depending on the sata SSD installed , I have a rough idea , but this might be the case with some motherboard.
Easy, yes, but easy because nothing else has been installed yet. With a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 already installed over the CPU, that no 1 spot isn't as easy to reach.

Thank you for the support and glad I could help you out. All the best 👍
Thx! Older tech guy here, dealing with new hardware. I appreciate you keeping it straight forward. 👍🏻
Glad I could help you out 👍
Exactly what I was looking for! Quick and easy explanation. Thanks!
You're very welcome 🤗
First time for me fiddling with PC hardware, thank you a bunch for the quick n easy tutorial!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much! It is indeed very simple, but I was nervous to do it my self for the first SSD :)
Glad I could help you out. 👍
Simple, sweet, to the point
Awesome 👍 thanks for watching.
Can you install the NVME SSD after a CPU and CPU cooler are in place on the mobo?
It looks like the CPU and cooler might block the NVME drive.
Man thank you so much for this video!!! I really do appreciate it
No problem!
Very useful, thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Cheers man.
Much appreciated!

Thanks for the video bro. You’re the man!
Glad I could help 😃👍
Great instruction and video.
Glad it was helpful!
thanks mate, no bs, easy and simple!
No problem 👍
What size is the screwdriver you used in the video
I’m having issues installing in the m2 slot any advice ? Would be super helpful thanks

If it's an integrated heatsink, then you should be fine in my opinion.
@@NorthernVikingEveryday Ok thanky o/
Thanks a lot
No problem 😃
thank you very much
You are welcome
I bought a SSD with a heatsink. Can i mount it in slot 2 without any SSD in slot 1?
Thank you!!

Will nvme drives with a built in heatsink fit in these slots? Or is that unnecessary with the built in heatsink on the board? Thanks!
I don't believe it would fit with a built-in heat sink. If it is removable then I would take it off and use the one that came with the motherboard.
@@NorthernVikingEveryday thank you, I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere but I was leaning towards this answer. Thank you for the quick reply!

Who is your favorite Viking?
where the second slot for ssd drive, dont it suppose to have 2 slot?
This motherboard has multiple and nvme slots. They are located lower down on the motherboard behind the heatsinks.

I hadn't heard about this problem but mine is working great without any problems.
I have the same problem with mpg edge wifi d4, 2 mounts of the shield frozr heatsink came off the motherboard
@@azizi1984 Yeah man - sad how expensive equipment just starts to fall off like some old, used, rusty bicycle parts!
does this also fit on a Z590 ?
Any idea why my NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 runs at only x2?

Can you possibly tell me where to plug the commander xt from Corsair into the board. It doesn’t register it.
USB 2.0 header
NICE!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks.
No problem 👍
does this support hard drives or do I need to get an SSD
It supports standard standard hard drives as well.
can you show all the slots?
Exactly he did the easiest possible way. Seems that the gpu will need to be removed to add the others.
thx

Well, how to remove an SSD?)
Mine is not showing in windows 😢
Same
Did you go to disk management?
