Beatty, a shop steward and appointed business agent of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 689, speaks out against proposed cutbacks of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metrobus service. Beatty speaks from the heart as he cites his personal experience as a laid-off worker. The hearing was held in Arlington, VA--one of six public hearings where hundreds of bus riders and union members spoke out against the proposal to reduce Metrobus service.
