You say the handle material is strong and impact resistant, then say you’re worried about the guard breaking. Which one is it? I can’t imagine the hard breaking while gripping the knife. Only way I could see breaking it is during batoning, and that wouldn’t be a safety risk for your hand

Impact resistant is not tear resistance or wear resistance. Soft plastic can survive fall from the 20th floor, but you can tear it pretty easy. You where I’m going with that?
The handle material is bit soft/can flex and can deform at the guard.
      Scenario like that can happen.

Please test the sheath for us on what kind of force or how much force it would take to break if it does get caught up on something.

Sorry but I wont, no reason to ruin a sheath and prove the obvious.
BTW it can’t be “broken”, it will deformed or ripped; the attachment is from flexible plastic

If you do a review and make some hypothetical fantastic claims regarding the weakness, it is your responsibility to prove your claim Eytan. I have had coldsteel knives in a few SRK iterations and many others. Some for more than 30 year. I hunt and butcher over a hundred game as big as whitetail deer. And i have never experienced any of your table top hypotheticals. Therefore since I have 30 years experience wearing and using these knives and sheaths and have never experienced your table top scenarios of weaknesses of these sheaths, I would implore you to prove these claims.

@@samthai818 Good for you, I had my years in the army, and I use tools regularly- I can recognise a weak spot when I see one and the belt loop. Maybe you never had gear caught in jeep door while disembarked.
