Sent mine to a custom maker for a full convex, ground swedge for batoning, and reduced top guard, then had a Grizzly Customs sheath made for it. Now its a fantastic blade! Ironically, I'm in AK and this is my to bowie knife for general purpose use. This paired with the TRC magnacut Polehiem makes it a fantastic combo for everything I can think of. In regard to mountain lion defense, I was also in that situation this part March when my buddy and I were stalked during a nighttime coyote hunt in MT. He came into the distressed rabbit call and got within 27 yards. Thought I was going to have to shoot it when it didnt respond to 2 warning shots. Thankfully he decided we were worth the trouble and slid away. I dont know if I would want to fight a big kitty with a knife, but having a knife in that situation would have been better than nothing.
For me very important is proper sheath to keep knife during hiking , running , intensive movement . To keep komfortable , no fall out and easy to extract.
Very nice knife, I've been looking at the Recon Tanto, OSS, and the Marauder for my first CS Fixed Blade, but after watching this I think I might just save up for the 3V Trail Master instead.
@mathewrculbertson I own several Cold Steel products. And I agree, I never go out into the wilds without my trailmaster. Started with the SK5 version years ago. Now I've upgraded to the 3V on many knives. Great video, keep it up.
I had to re-upload this video because of an error on UA-cam’s side. Thanks for the support of my channel.
Did you say Nacogdoches TX. You are in my neck of the woods.

There are 2 well documented cases of hunters defending and killing bears they were attacked by using the Buck 110 pocket/belt pouch knife
