    This is a great tutorial that explains a lot of elements clearly 👍! As a long-time knitter, it can be difficult to understand how to visually recognize various things. Your description of where to work the front post is helpful too. I don't think I've ever seen a tutorial where the teacher worries that they're explaining anything that could pop up, it's really cool of you!

    Hi Jerica this is my all time favorite blanket to crochet I'm currently crocheting my 3rd alpine blanket I've made one for each of my daughters now I'm crocheting one for myself but I'm making it as a weighted blanket I'm using bulky 6 yarn with a 9mm hook .. I've done some reseach and apparently weighted blankets help with chronic pain I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis severe depression and anxiety so anything that helps us good sending you hugs from Canada 😘🤗💖🇨🇦

      I too have heard that weighted blankets can help with these issues so I pray you find success when you finish the alpine you’re making for yourself!

      I'm trying to use a bulky yarn right now. Did the 9 mm work really well for close together stitches? Also do you work tight stitches or loose, cause I know I crochet tighter and I don't want to worry about curling

    Hi Yarnhookneedles - I've just purchased your pattern and you state to change the colour every 7 and 10 rows but this will produce thin stripes of colour as compared to the picture which is quite chunky stripes. Am I making a silly error here? Love the video and the pattern though they are super easy to follow! :)

    Could I use a heavier yarn, or two strands at once and a larger hook so it is a heavier blanket when complete (and grows faster!), or does the definition depend on the weight of the yarn and size of the hook?

  • @HrafnNordhri
    @HrafnNordhri 5 років тому +1

    Thanks for this. The blanket shown on your blog involves a color change. Would you be changing color at the end of the SC row? Also, are you splitting the work evenly in 3 and chancing color on the 29/30 row? EDIT: And right after posting this.. I read my answer on the blog :)

    Very good tutorial thank you, could this be done in 8 ply ?.

    • @laurelgirard8475
      @laurelgirard8475 4 роки тому

      You can do any stitch with any yarn or hook. You just have to adjust your pattern. I believe that it would be a size smaller with 8 ply. You would need a larger hook to balance it out. I’m pretty sure that’s how you’d do it. If someone more experienced with changing hook sizes and yarn weight could comment here it’d be appreciated. I’ve been crocheting 45+ years but have only been found sweaters and things that need adjustments, etc. Thank you.

    where would i place my stitch marker at end rows till i get going good? i’m doing a practice swatch before i start on the full size blanket?thank you for the great pattern i have purchased the full size

    • @YHNFiberCo
      @YHNFiberCo  3 роки тому

      You would want to place your stitch marker into the top CH 2 you do at the end of each row. This will help you make sure you're going into the last stitch. Hopefully that makes sense!

    • @YHNFiberCo
      @YHNFiberCo  3 роки тому

      Hi! I didn’t create a border for this particular design. But you can easily add a single crochet border around the edge.
      As far as the sizing, the throw and twin size are exactly the same. The reason for this is because the throw size is very subjective and I figured a twin size would be large enough to cover and fit the needs of most people.
