I got a Harley B story for you 2 Bike. I ordered one of those ES 335 ones last spring(Lemon I think it was?)Anyway it had a dead fret right at the 12 B& E. So I sent them an email they asked for a video… I sent it. They gave me 100 % credit and told me to keep it rather than sending it back from Saint John NB. First really time I ever fooled with fret stuff. I fixed it in 10 minutes and got an free guitar out of it. I actually argued with them and told them it was a bad deal for them. They insisted. So I promised them I’d tell anyone who would listen how awesome Thomann is. That’s The Story.
Good story. I got the same deal with the gold top one that had all of the lifted frets on the fretboard. That took me a lot more than 10 minutes to fix but over a couple of days I was able to make the Frets stay in level them up and fix all of the other issues with the guitar. It now belongs to one of the lottery winners that I gave it to last week who is in Montreal. He promised to send me a box opening video for my channel but has yet to do so and it should have been there by last friday. People tell you they will do things and they don't.
@@2bikemikesguitartopics145Maybe they will. You seem like a benefit of the doubt type of guy. I try to be. You say that’s heavy. I bought a TE 52 Harley B that has to be easy 9 pounds. Heaviest guitar I have is a Les Paul Std Gold Top P90. Gosh that thing is creeping on 11.
I lucked out with this one as a B stalk. I got two that weren't so good. They'll be coming up later on the channel. I haven't been able to find what made this one a B stock. The single coils are strat like because they're single Roswell pickups. In essence it's a strat with two pickups with the shape of a Telecaster body
Love the Twins! But 10.4 lbs? Those are beefy Tellies! They both look fantastic! You have great luck with B-stock guitars haha. Those Strat pups are quite tele-esque from what I heard. Suoer nice guitar Mike. I quite like turtoise pick guards on blonde teles... Sexy! Lol Yes I know what you mean... Not a fan of Prince's music either or style for that matter, but the boy could play, no question! Looking forward to part 2!
Little gem this is very nice tone, looks great nearly as heavy as my Gibbo gold top. For the money I font think you can beat it. This is my fourth HB guitar.
Measuring resistance of a pickup does not give you definitive info on how a pickup will sound. Things like how tightly vs scattered the windings are, the gauge and type of wire are, the magnets and their placement (bars vs used as pole pieces), covered vs uncovered, etc all can make a difference in how a pickup sounds. Unfortunately you can’t measure those things unless you watched the pickup be made or take it apart.
I really like that “jig” guitar you have for testing pickups. Good way to make quick A-B comparisons. Interesting to know the non-resistance differences are coming through clearly.
For instance the goldtop neck was the same resistance as the fake Seymore Duncan, but the goldy was dark and muddy while the duncan sounded cleaner with good mids
Dean I can't recall seeing your woodpecker pic before. Are you one of my non-public subscribers? Forgot to tell you, thoman sent me a replacement guitar, not store credit. It was a refund or a better guitar. 2nd one was better but still needed all the regular work. Did you watch ths SC-400 GOLDTOP series of mine?
I find it hard to believe that a sawed-off little shrimp like"prince" was would have been able to lug around a 10 pound hunk of firewood for any length of time on a hot sweaty stage...😜😜😜
Don't know, we don't see SX up here. Mad Cat makes one and just saw Firefly is making one. Guitars garden won't ship to Canada and mad cats are near impossible to find also so HB was my only option to get this style
@@spookshilljoe7376 It has been difficult over the last year and a half or so trying to get stuff shipped to Canada from the USA. Many won't and those that will the shipping charges cost more than a guitar is worth. So the value is just not in it most of the time. Thanks for your info
@@2bikemikesguitartopics145 ok I can understand that. Oh thanks for these great videos, I really enjoy them. I'm 68 years old and I like working in guitars to try and improve them. I have gotten 4 recently that I'm going to mod. I just got some locking tuners and pickguards to change, now I'm looking for some saddles and bridges to change
I have one and absolutely love it. Some people have changed pick ups but not needed. Set your gear up right. It performs well.
The binding looks so good with the natural color and the center line. Very beautiful tele Mike
Yup. Thanks for your support.

Thanks much
now play the piss out of it
That's a cool guitar, Mike. That thing outta be a rocker! I dig it. I love Harley Benton guitars. I've had great luck with them.

What kind of wood are the bodies made with?
Ash with a maple top

Its a HB Tele, Nice colour, looks great ! Those gig bags are great value, bought a couple recently
Cheers Mike..........Mick
Thanks Mick
Great looking guitar 🎸 Mike.
I've got the same guitar, and every time I pick it up I think "Damn that is heavy"! Haha! Plays nice after a quick setup though.
Ya 11lbs heavy. Very prety style

Yup, all things I know. It's a relative indicator. When I test buckers on my jig that are measuring approx the same resistance mostly sound different

Those poor ol Thomann boxes are always so beat up when they get to me ha ha. Never had anything wrong inside( so far) though.
